Police in North Macedonia stopped a Kosovo citizen after finding that he was traveling at 220 kilometers per hour on the A1 motorway, on a section where the permitted speed limit is 120 kilometers per hour.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Interior, the 36-year-old driver, identified by the initials Sh.Z., was stopped today at 8:41 a.m. in the parking area near Miletkova, during an intervention by officers from the Strumica Internal Affairs Sector and the Gevgelija Department of Internal Affairs.

He was driving a passenger vehicle with Kosovo license plates, while the recorded speed was 100 kilometers per hour above the permitted limit.

The Ministry of Interior announced that criminal charges would be filed against him for reckless driving.
