Minister of Culture and Tourism Sedat Sulejmani conducted an inspection visit today to the construction site of the Universal Hall in Skopje, where he received an update on the current stage of the works.

The ministry announced that the project is being implemented in accordance with the schedule. So far, excavation at basement level has been completed, the columns have been built, and measures have been taken to protect the structure. At the same time, work is continuing on the processing and installation of steel components.

During the inspection, Sulejmani said that the construction site was visited in the presence of the head of works, “Megaron Engineering” Skopje, the supervisory body “EOS E.E Consulting” – LLC Skopje, and the contractor “Universal Balkan” LLC Skopje. According to him, the planned preparatory, construction and craft works, as well as the demolitions, have been successfully completed, while the basement excavation, construction of the columns and measures to protect the structure have also been completed.

“The works are progressing according to the established schedule, and visible signs of progress are expected to be noticed as early as this weekend. If this pace continues, Skopje will finally have a modern Universal Hall in 2028, a facility of great importance to the capital,” Sulejmani wrote.

The Universal Hall will retain its old appearance and will have a capacity of 1,200 seats. The facility is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2027.
