Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, Aleksandar Nikolloski, stated that Macedonia is transforming into a regional leader thanks to the combination of sustainable transport and green transition. He made these comments during a ceremony marking the start of the wind park project of the Alkazar company in Shtip.

According to him, this investment represents clear evidence of the vision for energy security and shows that the executive works closely with investors with full commitment.

Nikolloski drew attention to a series of important events that illustrate the country’s modernization. “Yesterday we marked the 35th anniversary of Macedonia’s independence. In the early hours of the day, we inaugurated the renovated Ohrid Airport, and in the evening we enjoyed the rhythms of electronic music with David Guetta. Today we are here for a wind park. This, in my opinion, is the strongest proof that our country has a modern future, adapted to the 21st century,” he said.

He emphasized that precisely this connection between ecological mobility and the transition to clean energy places Macedonia in a leading position in the region.

The Deputy Prime Minister assured that support for the initiative will continue and thanked all actors involved in the recent period, under the leadership of Prime Minister Mickoski. He mentioned the engagement of Energy Minister Sanja Bozhinovska, as well as the contribution of the mayors of Shtip, Karbinci, and Radovish. He also appreciated the work of the teams from the Ministry of Transport, Cadastre, Ministry of Agriculture and that of the Environment Ministry. “The fact that we stand here today and that in three years we will put this wind park into operation is the best confirmation of our commitment,” he concluded.

A serious robbery has occurred at the railway electrical substation in Dračevo, located between the Lisiče and Dračevo railway stations, according to an official announcement from the Ministry of Transport. The damage caused is estimated at around 5 million euros.

The ministry states that during this criminal activity, a large part of the electro-energetic equipment of the railway infrastructure was completely destroyed.

The perpetrators forcibly knocked down two heavy electrical transformers, each weighing more than 30 tons. The oil from these transformers was spilled, while the copper components and other valuable parts were extracted and taken.

Also, copper conductors, rails and copper profiles were stolen from the facility, along with almost the entire inventory of equipment and elements that ensure the substation’s operation.

The Ministry of Transport has stressed that the consequences are extremely serious and have severely hit the railway network. The case has been reported to the relevant authorities, who have already launched investigative procedures to identify the perpetrators and clarify the circumstances of the incident.

The Ministry of Transport said that, following information received from the public, a state inspector from the State Inspectorate for Construction and Urbanism went to the site today and conducted an extraordinary inspection of a structure at KP-15972, KO Ohrid 3, in Ohrid’s Old Town.

According to the ministry, the inspection confirmed that although the State Inspectorate for Construction and Urbanism had previously issued a decision for the building’s removal, it had not been enforced. Based on the state inspector’s findings, the inspectorate will issue an order for the structure’s compulsory administrative removal, in accordance with the applicable legal regulations.

The Ministry of Transport stressed that its commitment to the fight against illegal construction will remain unwavering, continuous, and without any exceptions, throughout the country.

“The Construction Law is applied equally to everyone and will not be enforced selectively,” the Ministry of Transport said.
