On July 24, 2026, law enforcement entered a residence in the village of Haraçina, Skopje, where they discovered a considerable amount of narcotics. The operation was carried out based on a warrant issued by the Skopje Basic Criminal Court.

Teams from the Unit for Illicit Trade and the Intervention Police Unit at the Skopje Regional Police Department meticulously searched the house and auxiliary buildings of the suspect, B.N., 25 years old. During the raid, officers found and seized over two kilograms of marijuana, along with a digital scale containing traces of the same substance.

Police have arrested a 32-year-old man from Kavadarci who was caught red-handed while taking 2,000 euros from a 50-year-old woman living in Kumanovo. He is suspected of convincing the victim that he would help her obtain a passport of another country.

According to the Ministry of Interior announcement, the woman filed a complaint after realizing she was a victim of fraud. Initially, the suspect took 400 euros from her promising to mediate, but then continued to ask for additional payments. Within a short period, she gave him a total of 9,000 euros, while the pressure for more money did not stop.

On July 23, 2026, around 13:50, in the central square of Kavadarci, officers of the Kavadarci Police Department, in coordination with those of the Kumanovo Police Department, arrested the person identified by the initials M.D., 32 years old.

At the time of arrest, the authorities found 2,000 euros on him, which had just been taken from the victim. This money had previously been treated with forensic techniques by the police, in order to fully document the illegal activity.

After being detained at the police station, the arrested was brought before the public prosecutor, where he admitted guilt for the committed offense. Once the investigative procedures are completed, a criminal complaint will be filed against him for the offense of ‘Fraud’, under Article 247, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code.

A suspected case of document manipulation has led to criminal charges from the responsible structures of the Ministry of Interior. The Department for Internal Control, Criminal Investigations and Professional Standards, in cooperation with the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Dibër, has filed a complaint against two individuals, A.Sh. and A.P., who are suspected of committing the criminal offense of document forgery.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the first person, A.Sh., employed as a police officer at the Bllatë border crossing, during 2025 developed a fraudulent scheme involving a motor vehicle. He possessed a moped with Swiss license plates, for which customs obligations had not been fulfilled and he held no other document permitting lawful movement within the country’s territory. To cover up this irregularity, the police officer placed Macedonian license plates belonging to another vehicle on this moped. He then transferred ownership of the moped to the second involved citizen, A.P., who was fully aware that the vehicle did not come with proper documentation.

On June 18, 2026, police forces managed to identify and stop the suspicious vehicle during patrol. The moped, together with its circulation permit, was immediately seized by authorities as material evidence.

In addition to criminal prosecution, the same internal control department has requested the initiation of disciplinary proceedings against officer A.Sh., considering his conduct a serious breach of work rules and discipline. The collision involved a Volkswagen Caddy van with Skopje licence plates and a Golf car with Ohrid licence plates. Both drivers and three passengers travelling in the vehicles were injured and taken to the Clinical Centre and the “8 September” hospital in Skopje.

The warrant, issued at central and international level, was requested by the Basic Court of Kočani. It relates to a criminal offense under Article 215, paragraph 1, in conjunction with Article 22 of the Criminal Code.

Lazarov was initially detained after a white powdery substance was found in the car he was traveling in. However, while being held for questioning, he managed to run away from the police premises.

Referring to the official police bulletin, the incident occurred on July 9, 2026, around 23:55, at the entrance to the village of Istibanja, located in Vinica Municipality. At that moment, police forces from the Kočani Police Department, Delčevo Police Department, and the Kamenica Unit had stopped Lazarov and another citizen, identified as J.J. (25), for a check.

During the inspection of a “Subaru” with Kočani license plates, driven by J.J. and with Lazarov as a passenger, officers found and seized a quantity of white powdery substance.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that the case was reported around 22:30, in their apartment located in the area known as “Bit Pazar”. According to preliminary information, the 52-year-old E.L., who had previously consumed alcohol, physically assaulted his 54-year-old wife, who is the suspect’s mother.

At that critical moment, the couple’s son, identified as B.Xh., intervened by stabbing his father with a sharp object. The injuries caused were fatal for the 52-year-old, who died at the scene.

Law enforcement officers managed to locate and arrest the suspected perpetrator around 23:00, while the injured mother was rushed to the “Shën Naumi i Ohrit” City General Hospital to receive necessary medical treatment.

By order of the public prosecutor, the victim’s body was sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy procedure.
