She had been appointed to the position during the mandate of the Vetëvendosje Movement government, while her departure is taking place in the second term, which she will not complete.

Through a Facebook post, Berbatovci-Ukimeraj said that during her work she faced difficulties in relation to the leadership structures of SHSKUK and UCCK. According to her, this situation affected her ability to carry out her professional responsibilities normally.

“This decision comes after a long period of efforts to carry out the duty with professionalism, integrity and transparency, in circumstances characterized by a lack of institutional cooperation with the leadership structures of SHSKUK and UCCK and by continuous pressures that have undermined my professional independence and made it impossible to normally exercise the responsibilities arising from this position,” she wrote, among other things.

In her public reaction, she stressed that a leadership function must be exercised on the basis of the law, professional ethics, institutional cooperation and mutual respect. According to her, when these principles are absent and obstacles are created to fulfilling responsibilities in the interest of patients, staff and the institution, resignation constitutes an act of responsibility and professional and personal integrity, and not an evasion of responsibility.

Berbatovci-Ukimeraj also listed several of the projects carried out during her leadership of the Nephrology Clinic. She mentioned the operationalization of the Hemodialysis Center in Rahovec, after many years of efforts, as well as the start of hemodialysis services at the Podujeva Polyclinic, with the aim of easing access to treatment for many patients.

She also highlighted the start of measuring immunosuppressive drug levels, a service which, according to her, is of particular importance for transplant patients.

In the post, she said that in cooperation with Prof. Shemsedin Sadiku, they were the initiators of the request to obtain a construction permit for the new building of the Nephrology Clinic with Hemato-Oncology, a project that is now in its final phase.

She also mentioned the launch of therapeutic plasmapheresis services, which according to her was achieved after many years of work and commitment. However, she clarified that although this service is now functional, the consumable materials and the necessary staff training for other treatment modalities have still not been secured.

According to her, following requests and continuous efforts to secure new hemodialysis machines, the procurement of new equipment was completed during her term, enabling patients to receive treatment on modern devices in line with contemporary nephrology standards.

The former director said she feels a professional and moral obligation to inform the public opinion about projects that are in the final phase or are still awaiting implementation.

She said the process for starting renal biopsy is almost complete, but the full implementation of this service, according to her, continues to depend on securing consumable materials at the Institute of Pathology, an issue she stressed was not within her competence but that of the responsible institutions.

At the same time, she announced that the Clinic has also been equipped with a microscope for examining urinary sediment, but to date the necessary laboratory technician for processing samples has not been secured, which has prevented this service from becoming operational.

Berbatovci-Ukimeraj added that the project for renovating the Hemodialysis Service is ready to begin, but has remained pending a decision on the relocation of patients during the construction period.

She also mentioned that the Clinic is awaiting the receipt of the PrisMax Flex machine, a donation that has been accepted by the management but has still not been delivered to the Nephrology Clinic.

In the end, she stressed that all these developments are the result of the joint work of the Nephrology Clinic staff, to whom she expressed sincere thanks and gratitude for their professionalism, dedication and continuous support.

Berbatovci-Ukimeraj said she is proud of what has been achieved during this period and said she believes these projects will continue until their full operationalization, in the interest of patients and Kosovo’s healthcare system.

Mimoza Berbatovci-Ukimeraj ka bërë të ditur se ka dhënë dorëheqje nga pozita e drejtoreshës së Klinikës së Nefrologjisë në QKUK, pas pesë vitesh në krye të kësaj klinike. Sipas saj, vendimi është marrë për shkak të mungesës së bashkëpunimit institucional dhe presioneve të vazhdueshme gjatë ushtrimit të funksionit.

Ajo ishte vendosur në këtë detyrë gjatë mandatit të qeverisë së Lëvizjes Vetëvendosje, ndërsa largimi i saj po ndodh në mandatin e dytë, të cilin nuk do ta çojë deri në fund.

Përmes një postimi në Facebook, Berbatovci-Ukimeraj ka thënë se gjatë punës së saj është përballur me vështirësi në raport me strukturat drejtuese të SHSKUK-së dhe QKUK-së. Sipas saj, kjo situatë ka ndikuar që ajo të mos mund t’i kryejë normalisht përgjegjësitë profesionale.

“Ky vendim vjen pas një periudhe të gjatë përpjekjesh për të ushtruar detyrën me profesionalizëm, integritet dhe transparencë, në rrethana të karakterizuara nga mungesa e bashkëpunimit institucional me strukturat udhëheqëse të SHSKUK-së dhe QKUK-së dhe nga presionet e vazhdueshme që kanë cenuar pavarësinë time profesionale si dhe kanë pamundësuar ushtrimin normal të përgjegjësive që burojnë nga kjo pozitë”, ka shkruar ajo, mes tjerash.

Në reagimin e saj publik, ajo ka theksuar se një funksion drejtues duhet të ushtrohet mbi bazën e ligjit, etikës profesionale, bashkëpunimit institucional dhe respektit të ndërsjellë. Sipas saj, në momentin kur këto parime mungojnë dhe krijohen pengesa për përmbushjen e përgjegjësive në interes të pacientëve, stafit dhe institucionit, dorëheqja përbën akt përgjegjësie dhe integriteti profesional e personal, e jo shmangie nga përgjegjësia.

Berbatovci-Ukimeraj ka renditur edhe disa nga projektet e realizuara gjatë drejtimit të saj në Klinikën e Nefrologjisë. Ajo ka përmendur funksionalizimin e Qendrës së Hemodializës në Rahovec, pas shumë vitesh përpjekjesh, si dhe fillimin e ofrimit të shërbimit të hemodializës në Poliklinikën e Podujevës, me qëllim lehtësimin e qasjes në trajtim për shumë pacientë.

Po ashtu, ajo ka veçuar nisjen e matjes së niveleve të barnave imunosupresive, një shërbim që, sipas saj, ka rëndësi të veçantë për pacientët e transplantuar.

Në postim, ajo ka bërë të ditur se në bashkëpunim me Prof. Shemsedin Sadikun kanë qenë iniciues të kërkesës për pajisjen me leje ndërtimore të objektit të ri të Klinikës së Nefrologjisë me Hemato-Onkologji, projekt që tashmë ndodhet në fazën përfundimtare.

Ajo ka përmendur edhe fillimin e shërbimit të plazmaferezës terapeutike, që sipas saj është arritur pas një pune dhe angazhimi shumëvjeçar. Megjithatë, ka sqaruar se ndonëse ky shërbim tashmë është funksional, ende nuk janë siguruar materiali shpenzues dhe trajnimet e nevojshme të stafit për modalitetet e tjera të trajtimit.

Sipas saj, pas kërkesave dhe angazhimit të vazhdueshëm për sigurimin e aparateve të reja të hemodializës, gjatë mandatit të saj është realizuar furnizimi me aparatura të reja, duke bërë që pacientët të marrin trajtim në pajisje moderne në përputhje me standardet bashkëkohore të nefrologjisë.

Ish-drejtoresha ka thënë se ndien obligim profesional dhe moral që të informojë opinionin publik edhe për projektet që ndodhen në fazën përfundimtare ose janë ende në pritje të realizimit.

Ajo ka bërë të ditur se procesi për fillimin e biopsisë renale është pothuajse i përfunduar, por realizimi i plotë i këtij shërbimi, sipas saj, vazhdon të varet nga sigurimi i materialit shpenzues në Institutin e Patologjisë, çështje që ka theksuar se nuk ka qenë në kompetencën e saj, por të institucioneve përgjegjëse.

Në të njëjtën kohë, ajo ka njoftuar se Klinika është pajisur edhe me mikroskopin për ekzaminimin e sedimentit urinar, por deri më sot nuk është siguruar laboranti i nevojshëm për përpunimin e mostrave, gjë që ka penguar funksionalizimin e këtij shërbimi.

Berbatovci-Ukimeraj ka shtuar se projekti për renovimin e Shërbimit të Hemodializës është gati për të nisur, por ka mbetur në pritje të vendimit për zhvendosjen e pacientëve gjatë periudhës së punimeve.

Ajo ka përmendur gjithashtu se Klinika pret pranimin e aparatit PrisMax Flex, donacion që është pranuar nga drejtoria, por që ende nuk është dorëzuar në Klinikën e Nefrologjisë.

Në fund, ajo ka theksuar se të gjitha këto zhvillime janë rezultat i punës së përbashkët të stafit të Klinikës së Nefrologjisë, të cilëve u ka shprehur falënderim dhe mirënjohje të sinqertë për profesionalizmin, përkushtimin dhe mbështetjen e vazhdueshme.

Berbatovci-Ukimeraj është shprehur krenare për atë që është arritur gjatë kësaj periudhe dhe ka thënë se beson që këto projekte do të vazhdojnë deri në funksionalizimin e tyre të plotë, në interes të pacientëve dhe të sistemit shëndetësor të Kosovës.
