Former KLA officer Naim Miftari has sharply criticized former Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi after the latter said that he keeps the KLA emblem in the left pocket of his shirt.

In a written statement, Miftari questioned Thaçi’s words and asked him where he keeps the emblem of the DGSE, the French secret service, as well as a photograph of Arnaud Danjean, whom he describes as his superior and a French agent linked to him.

“Hashim, where do you keep the emblem of the DGSE, the French secret service, and the photo of your superior, the Serbian son-in-law and French agent Arnaud Danjean?” Miftari wrote.

His statement also refers to the former president’s brother, Ganiu. Miftari claims that he keeps an emblem that he attributes to Ivica Stanishiq of the UDBA.

The former KLA officer also attacked Thaçi over the wealth and career he built after the war. According to him, Thaçi went from being a poor asylum seeker in Switzerland who had stolen Levi’s 501 jeans to becoming a multimillionaire after, Miftari claims, more than 90 percent of the “Vendlindja Thërret” Fund was stolen from the KLA.

Miftari also accuses him of selling and appropriating most of Kosovo’s assets after the end of the war in order to secure power and a political role. He also criticizes him over the K-90 Agreement, claiming that with a single signature, most KLA soldiers were left without support and “out on the streets.”

According to Miftari, Thaçi benefited from the KLA’s war by becoming prime minister, foreign minister and later president. He also claims that corruption during and after the war made Thaçi a multibillionaire and that, through him, the Specialist Chambers were brought against the KLA.

Miftari writes that Thaçi had believed the international community had deceived him, as he thought that he and his fellow fighters would not be tried, while proceedings would instead be brought against the actual commanders of the war.

At the end, the former KLA officer links his statement to the patriot Bahajdin Allaqi. He asks Thaçi whether he keeps the phone or the book under his pillow when he sleeps, implying that this is connected to the question of where Bahajdin Allaqi’s grave is located.

“Hashim, do you keep the phone or the book under your pillow when you sleep? Shall I ask you another time where the grave of the patriot Bahajdin Allaqi is located?” Miftari wrote.

Ish-eprori i UÇK-së, Naim Miftari, ka reaguar ashpër ndaj ish-presidentit të Kosovës, Hashim Thaçi, pas deklaratës së këtij të fundit se emblemën e UÇK-së e mban në xhepin e majtë të këmishës.

Përmes një shkrimi, Miftari ka vënë në dyshim fjalët e Thaçit dhe e ka pyetur se ku e ruan emblemën e DGSE-së, shërbimit sekret francez, si edhe fotografinë e Arnaud Danjean, të cilin e cilëson si shefin dhe agjentin francez të lidhur me të.

“Hashim, e ku po e mban emblemën e DGSE-së, shërbimit sekret francez, e foton e shefit tënd, dhëndrit serb agjentit francez, Arnaud Danjean?”, ka shkruar Miftari.

Në reagimin e tij përfshihet edhe vëllai i ish-presidentit, Ganiu. Miftari pretendon se ai mban një emblemë që ia atribuon Ivica Stanishiqit të UDB-së.

Ish-eprori i UÇK-së e ka sulmuar Thaçin edhe për pasurinë dhe karrierën e krijuar pas luftës. Sipas tij, nga një person i varfër dhe azilant në Zvicër, i cili kishte vjedhur farmerka Levi’s 501, Thaçi u shndërrua në multimilioner pasi, siç pretendon Miftari, mbi 90 për qind e Fondit “Vendlindja Thërret” iu vodhën UÇK-së.

Miftari e akuzon gjithashtu se pas përfundimit të luftës, për të siguruar pushtet dhe rol politik, Thaçi shiti e përvetësoi pjesën më të madhe të pasurive të Kosovës. Ai e kritikon edhe për Marrëveshjen K-90, duke pretenduar se me një nënshkrim shumica e ushtarëve të UÇK-së mbetën pa mbështetje dhe “në rrugë”.

Sipas Miftarit, Thaçi përfitoi nga lufta e UÇK-së duke u bërë kryeministër, ministër i Jashtëm dhe më pas president. Ai pretendon gjithashtu se korrupsioni gjatë dhe pas luftës e bëri Thaçin multimiliarder dhe se, përmes tij, Gjykata Speciale iu soll UÇK-së.

Miftari shkruan se Thaçi kishte besuar se ndërkombëtarët e kishin mashtruar, pasi mendonte se ai dhe bashkëluftëtarët e tij nuk do të gjykoheshin, ndërsa proceset do të zhvilloheshin ndaj komandantëve realë të luftës.

Në fund, ish-eprori i UÇK-së e lidh reagimin e tij me atdhetarin Bahajdin Allaqi. Ai e pyet Thaçin nëse telefonin apo librin e mban nën jastëk kur fle, duke lënë të kuptohet se kjo lidhet me pyetjen se ku ndodhet varri i Bahajdin Allaqit.

“Hashim, telefonin a librin po e mban nën jastëk kur po fle, për pyetjen se ku gjendet varri i atdhetarit Bahajdin Allaqi, tjetër herë të pyes?”, ka shkruar Miftari.

Fehim Sali, a teacher from Dragash, was arrested on Thursday by the Kosovo Police on suspicion of carrying out espionage activities for the Serbian Intelligence Agency, BIA. The following day, the Special Department of the Basic Court in Pristina ordered him held in pretrial detention for one month.

The Special Prosecution suspects that Sali was recruited by Zhelimir Matović, an official with Serbia’s BIA, to whom he allegedly passed information through ongoing communications.

The request for pretrial detention states that, under the BIA official’s instructions, he is suspected of collecting and transmitting data related to political developments in Kosovo.

Sali is also suspected of identifying officials from the Kosovo Intelligence Agency, including by photographing them.

According to the Prosecution, his suspected activities also involved people belonging to the Wahhabi sect, as well as other individuals whom Sali allegedly suggested as potential targets for BIA to contact and recruit.

The investigation against him began in June 2025, after the KIA forwarded information about the suspicious activity to the Special Prosecution.

The prosecutor in the case, Bekim Kodraliu, said on Friday that evidence gathered by the Kosovo Police in cooperation with the KIA had established reasonable suspicion that Sali had been recruited by BIA.

Kodraliu said reasonable suspicion had been substantiated that the defendant had been recruited by the Serbian Intelligence Agency, specifically by an official from that service, Zhelimir Matović.

According to the prosecutor, the Prosecution considers the information provided by Sali harmful to the interests of the state of Kosovo.

He said that the defendant himself had also admitted that he had been recruited and had maintained ongoing contact with BIA officials.

After Sali was detained, investigators from the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Serious Crimes, together with the Special Prosecution, searched his residence in Dragash.

The search resulted in the seizure of €39,500 in cash, 500 Serbian dinars, four mobile phones and various documents deemed relevant to the case.

Reacting to the case, former KLA officer Naim Miftari said that Serbia has had extensive information about Kosovo to date, particularly about the KSF, the Police and the KIA.

He cited the case of Osman Musa and raised the question of how much information Musa may have passed to the Serbian UDB while serving in the Kosovo Police.

According to Miftari, Serbia was so well informed about Kosovo, particularly about the KSF, the Police and the KIA, that it even knew the amount of ammunition and how many bullets Kosovo possessed. As an example, he cited Osman Musa, who had been a senior officer and had held sensitive positions within the Kosovo Police.

Miftari claims that after Musa realized he had been exposed—but not by state institutions—he panicked, fled to Britain and revealed there that he was an agent of the Serbian UDB-BIA in Kosovo.

In his statement to “Bota sot,” the former officer asked how much information had been sent to the Serbian UDB while Musa was part of the Kosovo Police. He added that Kosovo never filed an indictment for treason in connection with the case and never submitted an extradition request.

Miftari also drew attention to other people who, according to his allegations, worked for Serbia.

He mentioned Fatmir Sheholli, whom he described as a former UDB operative, claiming that Ilmi Recica and Latif Gashi had brought him into SHIK on the grounds that he was delivering sacks of documents to the service. According to Miftari, these were stories used to conceal their failure.

He also claims that the same person, whom he referred to by the initials F. Sh., had received hundreds of thousands of euros from A. J. U., purportedly for information he was supposedly obtaining from Serbia. Miftari called these claims fairy tales and outright theft carried out through agent Sheholli.

According to him, had Sheholli not been arrested for a few more days, he would have continued appearing constantly in television studios as a hero who had helped the LDK before the war. Miftari said he had stated on television and at public NGOs that F. Sheholli was expected to be proclaimed the KLA’s commander-in-chief as well.

Among the names he mentioned was Baton Haxhiu, whom Miftari called Ivica Stanišić’s former postman after the war and an adviser to Hashim Thaçi, SHIK leaders, Kadri Veseli and Edi Rama. He also mentioned Gani Thaçi, whom he described as a UDB operative in Kosovo.

Miftari went on to mention Hashim Thaçi and Kadri Veseli, calling them collaborators and employees of the Serbian son-in-law, agent Denhear Arnaud, who was the DGSE’s chief for the Balkans. According to him, that service openly partitioned northern Kosovo in Serbia’s interest through the French KFOR contingent in Mitrovica.

He also cited the example of Branislav Nikolić, whom he called an agent of the Serbian UDB-BIA and whom, according to him, Hashim Thaçi appointed as an adviser while he was president. Miftari claims that Nikolić was caught by the Kosovo Police together with two other agents while they were attempting to buy false witnesses against the KLA over allegations of organ trafficking, which he called a major lie against the KLA.

The former officer said that while he was free and held the offices of prime minister and president, Hashim Thaçi presented himself as the leading figure of the KLA. According to Miftari, after he was imprisoned for war crimes by the Specialist Chambers, Thaçi said—in an effort to evade responsibility—that he had been far removed from the front lines, the war and the command, as well as from the role of the KLA’s main figure.

According to Miftari, such cases existed before the war and after it ended, and they continue to exist today.

Nevertheless, he said the day would come when BIA would lose its significance and no longer pose a threat to the state of Kosovo.

Miftari said there were many other cases as well and that UDB had been present in Kosovo before the war and after it, and remains present today. According to him, it is growing weaker every day thanks to the state, the Government, the Police, the KIA and the Prosecution.

He believes that one day BIA will become irrelevant and will no longer pose a danger to Kosovo, but stressed that this can be achieved only by never letting up and by protecting the state 24 hours a day, every week, month and year.

In conclusion, Miftari said that even water talks, but the enemy does not, adding that anyone who wants to preserve the peace and freedom of their people and state must prepare well for war. According to him, no one should be allowed to catch Kosovo by surprise.

Fehim Sali’s institutional background was also included as an element in the request for pretrial detention.

He had served as a member of the Consultative Council for Communities within the Office of the President of Kosovo, a position he held until he was dismissed in May 2024.

The Prosecution mentioned this position as part of the circumstances related to the case.

The Basic Court in Pristina found that there was a risk Sali could flee, influence witnesses and evidence, or repeat or continue the criminal offense.

The assessment of his flight risk was also influenced by the fact that Sali was arrested on August 13 at around 4:00 a.m. at the Merdare border crossing while leaving Kosovo.

The court also took into consideration that he holds both Kosovo and Serbian citizenship and has family ties in Serbia.

The defense opposed the pretrial detention order, stressing that Sali has a permanent residence, family and employment in Kosovo. According to the defense, his trips to Serbia were made for family and personal reasons.

Despite these arguments, the court found that house arrest, bail and other less restrictive measures would neither guarantee his presence nor prevent interference with the investigation.

Fehim Sali will remain in pretrial detention until September 13, 2026, while the investigation into the case continues.

Fehim Sali, arsimtar nga Dragashi, u arrestua të enjten nga Policia e Kosovës nën dyshimin se kishte kryer veprimtari spiunazhi për Shërbimin Inteligjent Serb, BIA. Të nesërmen, Departamenti Special i Gjykatës Themelore në Prishtinë vendosi që ai të mbahet një muaj në paraburgim.

Prokuroria Speciale dyshon se Sali ishte rekrutuar nga Zhelimir Matoviq, zyrtar i BIA-s serbe, të cilit pretendohet se i përcillte informacione përmes komunikimeve të vazhdueshme.

Në kërkesën për paraburgim thuhet se, nën udhëzimet e zyrtarit të BIA-s, ai dyshohet se mblidhte dhe transmetonte të dhëna lidhur me zhvillimet politike në Kosovë.

Sali dyshohet gjithashtu se kishte identifikuar zyrtarë të Agjencisë së Kosovës për Inteligjencë, përfshirë edhe duke i fotografuar ata.

Sipas Prokurorisë, veprimtaria e tij e dyshuar përfshinte edhe persona që i përkisnin sektit vehabi, si dhe individë të tjerë të cilët Sali pretendohet se i kishte sugjeruar si objektiva të mundshëm që BIA t’i kontaktonte dhe rekrutonte.

Procedura hetimore ndaj tij kishte filluar në qershor të vitit 2025, pasi AKI-ja ia kishte përcjellë Prokurorisë Speciale informacionet për aktivitetin e dyshimtë.

Prokurori i çështjes, Bekim Kodraliu, deklaroi të premten se provat e mbledhura nga Policia e Kosovës, në bashkëpunim me AKI-në, kishin krijuar dyshimin e bazuar se Sali ishte rekrutuar nga BIA.

Kodraliu tha se ishte vërtetuar dyshimi i bazuar që i pandehuri kishte qenë i rekrutuar nga Shërbimi Inteligjent Serb, konkretisht nga zyrtari i këtij shërbimi, Zhelimir Matoviq.

Sipas prokurorit, informacionet e ofruara nga Sali konsiderohen nga Prokuroria si të dëmshme për interesat e shtetit të Kosovës.

Ai bëri të ditur se edhe vetë i pandehuri kishte pranuar se ishte rekrutuar dhe se kishte mbajtur kontakte të vazhdueshme me zyrtarë të BIA-s.

Pas ndalimit të Salit, hetuesit e Drejtorisë për Hetimin e Krimit të Organizuar dhe Krimeve të Rënda, së bashku me Prokurorinë Speciale, bastisën vendbanimin e tij në Dragash.

Nga kontrolli u sekuestruan 39 mijë e 500 euro para të gatshme, 500 dinarë serbë, katër telefona celularë dhe dokumente të ndryshme që vlerësohen si relevante për rastin.

Duke reaguar për rastin, ish-eprori i UÇK-së, Naim Miftari, deklaron se Serbia ka pasur deri më sot shumë informacione për Kosovën, veçanërisht për FSK-në, Policinë dhe AKI-në.

Ai përmend rastin e Osman Musës dhe ngre pyetjen se sa të dhëna mund t’ia ketë përcjellë UDB-së serbe gjatë kohës kur shërbente në Policinë e Kosovës.

Sipas Miftarit, Serbia ka qenë aq e informuar për Kosovën, sidomos për FSK-në, Policinë dhe AKI-në, sa ka ditur madje numrin e municioneve dhe sa plumba posedonte Kosova. Si shembull, ai përmend Osman Musën, i cili kishte qenë epror i lartë dhe kishte punuar në pozita të ndjeshme brenda Policisë së Kosovës.

Miftari pretendon se Musa, pasi kishte kuptuar se ishte zbuluar, por jo nga institucionet shtetërore, ishte përfshirë nga paniku, kishte ikur në Britani dhe atje kishte treguar se ishte agjent i UDB-së-BIA-s serbe në Kosovë.

Në deklaratën për “Bota sot”, ish-eprori pyet se sa informacione i ishin dërguar UDB-së serbe gjatë kohës që Musa ishte pjesë e Policisë së Kosovës. Ai shton se Kosova nuk ngriti asnjëherë aktakuzë për tradhti lidhur me këtë rast dhe nuk paraqiti kërkesë për ekstradim.

Miftari sjell në vëmendje edhe raste të tjera të personave që, sipas pretendimeve të tij, kanë punuar për Serbinë.

Ai përmend Fatmir Shehollin, të cilin e cilëson ish-njeri të UDB-së, duke pretenduar se Ilmi Recica dhe Latif Gashi e kishin futur në SHIK me arsyetimin se ai po i sillte këtij shërbimi dokumente me thasë. Sipas Miftarit, këto ishin tregime të përdorura për të fshehur dështimin e tyre.

Ai pretendon gjithashtu se i njëjti person, të cilit i referohet me inicialet F. Sh., kishte marrë nga A. J. U-ja qindra mijëra euro, kinse për informacione që supozohej se i siguronte nga Serbia. Miftari i quan këto pretendime përralla dhe vjedhje të pastër të realizuar përmes agjentit Sheholli.

Sipas tij, po të mos arrestohej edhe për disa ditë, Sheholli do të vazhdonte të shfaqej pa ndërprerje në studio televizive si hero që kishte ndihmuar LDK-në para luftës. Miftari thotë se kishte deklaruar në televizion dhe në OJQ publike se pritej që F. Sheholli të shpallej edhe komandant i përgjithshëm i UÇK-së.

Mes emrave të përmendur prej tij është edhe Baton Haxhiu, të cilin Miftari e quan ish-postier të Ivica Stanishiqit pas luftës, këshilltar të Hashim Thaçit, të drejtuesve të SHIK-ut, të Kadri Veselit dhe të Edi Ramës. Ai përmend gjithashtu Gani Thaçin, të cilin e cilëson operator të UDB-së në Kosovë.

Miftari përmend më tej Hashim Thaçin dhe Kadri Veselin, duke i quajtur bashkëpunëtorë dhe nëpunës të dhëndrit serb, agjentit Denhear Arnaud, i cili ishte shef për Ballkanin në DGSE. Sipas tij, ky shërbim e ndau haptazi veriun e Kosovës në interes të Serbisë përmes KFOR-it francez në Mitrovicë.

Ai sjell si shembull edhe Branislav Nikoliqin, të cilin e quan agjent të UDB-së-BIA-s serbe dhe që, sipas tij, Hashim Thaçi e emëroi këshilltar gjatë kohës kur ishte president. Miftari pretendon se Nikoliqi ishte kapur nga Policia e Kosovës së bashku me dy agjentë të tjerë, ndërsa përpiqeshin të blinin dëshmitarë të rremë kundër UÇK-së për pretendimet rreth tregtisë me organe, të cilat ai i quan një gënjeshtër të madhe ndaj UÇK-së.

Ish-eprori thotë se, gjatë kohës kur ishte i lirë dhe mbante postet e kryeministrit dhe presidentit, Hashim Thaçi e paraqiste veten si figura kryesore e UÇK-së. Sipas Miftarit, pasi u burgos për krime lufte nga Gjykata Speciale, Thaçi deklaroi, për t’iu shmangur përgjegjësisë së tij, se kishte qenë larg fronteve, luftës dhe komandës, si dhe larg rolit të njeriut kryesor të UÇK-së.

Sipas Miftarit, raste të tilla ka pasur para luftës, pas përfundimit të saj dhe vazhdojnë të ketë edhe sot.

Megjithatë, ai shprehet se do të vijë një ditë kur BIA do ta humbasë rëndësinë dhe nuk do të përbëjë më kërcënim për shtetin e Kosovës.

Miftari thotë se ekzistojnë edhe shumë raste të tjera dhe se UDB-ja ka qenë e pranishme në Kosovë para luftës, pas saj dhe vazhdon të jetë edhe sot. Sipas tij, ajo po dobësohet çdo ditë falë shtetit, Qeverisë, Policisë, AKI-së dhe Prokurorisë.

Ai vlerëson se BIA do të bëhet një ditë e parëndësishme dhe nuk do të jetë më rrezik për Kosovën, por thekson se kjo mund të arrihet vetëm duke mos u ndalur asnjëherë dhe duke e mbrojtur shtetin 24 orë në ditë, gjatë çdo jave, muaji dhe viti.

Në përfundim, Miftari shprehet se edhe uji flet, por armiku jo, ndërsa shton se kush dëshiron ta ruajë paqen dhe lirinë e popullit e të shtetit të vet duhet të përgatitet mirë për luftë. Sipas tij, nuk duhet lejuar që askush ta befasojë Kosovën.

Në kërkesën për paraburgim është përfshirë si element edhe e kaluara institucionale e Fehim Salit.

Ai kishte shërbyer si anëtar i Këshillit Konsultativ për Komunitete pranë Zyrës së Presidentes së Kosovës, detyrë të cilën e kishte ushtruar deri kur u shkarkua në maj të vitit 2024.

Prokuroria e ka përmendur këtë funksion në kuadër të rrethanave që lidhen me çështjen.

Gjykata Themelore në Prishtinë konstatoi se ekziston rreziku që Sali të arratiset, të ndikojë mbi dëshmitarët dhe provat, apo ta përsërisë ose vazhdojë veprën penale.

Në vlerësimin e rrezikut të arratisjes ka ndikuar edhe fakti se Sali u arrestua më 13 gusht, rreth orës 04:00, në pikën kufitare të Merdares, ndërsa po largohej nga Kosova.

Gjykata mori në konsideratë gjithashtu se ai ka shtetësi të Kosovës dhe të Serbisë, si dhe lidhje familjare në Serbi.

Mbrojtja e kundërshtoi masën e paraburgimit, duke theksuar se Sali ka vendbanim të përhershëm, familje dhe vend pune në Kosovë. Sipas saj, udhëtimet e tij drejt Serbisë ishin bërë për arsye familjare dhe personale.

Pavarësisht këtyre argumenteve, gjykata vlerësoi se arresti shtëpiak, dorëzania dhe masat e tjera më të lehta nuk do të garantonin praninë e tij dhe as do të parandalonin pengimin e hetimeve.

Fehim Sali do të mbahet në paraburgim deri më 13 shtator 2026, ndërkohë që hetimet lidhur me rastin janë duke vazhduar.

Jugosllav Radević was arrested on Saturday evening during a joint operation by the Kosovo Police and the Special Prosecution Office.

The operation was conducted at several locations, while Radević is suspected of committing the criminal offense of “war crimes against the civilian population.”

Authorities announced that the investigation is continuing but provided no further details to avoid compromising the integrity of the proceedings. According to reports, Jugosllav Radević is also suspected of possible links to the Kalludra case, where investigations and excavations are underway amid suspicions that a mass grave containing people who disappeared during the war is located there.

The search for human remains in Kalludra, Zubin Potok, is continuing, and fieldwork is expected to last several weeks, and possibly even months.

Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti announced on Saturday that additional human remains had been found during excavations in the area.

During a visit to the site, Kurti said that while they were there, several more skulls had been discovered, as the search was still ongoing.

According to him, the remains are scattered along a stream, making their exhumation and identification more complicated.

Kurti said the stream may have displaced the bodies during the spring. For this reason, even if the victims were initially buried in a single location, their remains may no longer be at that site.

He explained that the victims’ identities can be established only through DNA analysis. The remains are suspected of belonging to a group of 23 Albanian intellectuals who were abducted and executed in April 1999.

The acting prime minister warned that the excavations could continue for many more weeks or months because the bones were found scattered along the stream. He emphasized that the stream is likely to be powerful during the spring and may have moved the bodies from where they had been buried. Speaking about judicial proceedings related to war crimes, Kurti also accused Serbia of arresting people who had provided information about those crimes.

Kurti expressed gratitude to the experts from the Institute of Forensic Medicine and EULEX who are working at the site. He also stressed that Kosovo’s institutions would support the process until the fate of those who disappeared during the war is clarified.

Meanwhile, former KLA officer Naim Miftari has provided further details about the arrested man, Radević.

In comments to “Bota Sot,” Miftari said that Radević had worked as a firefighter in Zubin Potok. He called for an investigation into who had been with the arrested man and which other individuals had taken part in the execution of the 23 Mitrovica intellectuals.

According to Miftari, Jugosllav Radević had been a paramilitary, a bridge guard and a member of the Civil Protection, while Hashim Thaçi and Ivica Dačić had admitted him into Kosovo’s security institutions. He said that Radević now works as a Serbian firefighter in Zubin Potok and called for him to be questioned about the people who had accompanied him and the others who took part in the execution of the 23 Mitrovica intellectuals.

Miftari also called for clarification of who the Albanian from Runik was and how contact had been established with a Serbian forester, a friend of the father, who was supposed to show them the way to Montenegro. According to him, the Serb had a Serbian police radio and had informed Serbian forces about the group and the direction in which it was moving.

He also raised questions about how Faruk Spahiu, the mayor of Mitrovica, had escaped together with several other members, perhaps three or four people. Miftari called for the identity of the Serbian commander who had helped them to be made public, as well as who had released them from the Serbian police station in Mitrovica the following day.

The former KLA officer also commented on a statement by Skenderaj Mayor Sami Lushtaku, who had visited the excavation site and called for further arrests of Serbs suspected of war crimes. Miftari responded by urging them not to “put on a show.”

He called on Kosovo government ministers and opposition representatives to insist that forensic experts, forensic medicine specialists and all departments responsible for identifying the victims continue their work without interruption.

Miftari called for the human remains in the north to be examined and for politicians not to organize, as he put it, parades and spectacles at the site where a mass grave containing Albanian civilian victims of the 1998–1999 war is suspected to be located. Instead of putting on shows and playing the role of patriots, he called for results as quickly as possible in this painful case.

Jugosllav Radeviç u arrestua mbrëmjen e së shtunës, gjatë një operacioni të përbashkët të Policisë së Kosovës dhe Prokurorisë Speciale.

Operacioni u shtri në disa lokacione, ndërsa Radeviç dyshohet për kryerjen e veprës penale “Krime lufte kundër popullsisë civile”.

Autoritetet njoftuan se hetimet po vazhdojnë, por nuk dhanë hollësi të tjera për të mos cenuar integritetin e procedurës. Sipas raportimeve, Jugosllav Radeviq dyshohet se mund të ketë lidhje edhe me rastin e Kalludrës, ku po kryhen hetime dhe gërmime nën dyshimet se aty ndodhet një varrezë masive me persona të zhdukur gjatë luftës.

Kërkimet për mbetje mortore në Kalludër të Zubin Potokut vijojnë dhe parashikohet që puna në terren të zgjasë disa javë, e ndoshta edhe muaj.

Kryeministri në detyrë, Albin Kurti, njoftoi të shtunën se gjatë gërmimeve në këtë zonë janë gjetur mbetje të tjera mortore.

Gjatë vizitës në lokacion, Kurti tha se, për aq kohë sa ndodheshin aty, ishin zbuluar edhe disa koka të reja, pasi kërkimet ende po vazhdonin.

Sipas tij, mbetjet janë të shpërndara përgjatë një përroi, çka e bën më të ndërlikuar zhvarrimin dhe identifikimin e tyre.

Kurti vlerësoi se përroi mund t’i ketë zhvendosur trupat gjatë pranverës. Për këtë arsye, edhe nëse viktimat fillimisht janë varrosur në një vend të vetëm, mbetjet mund të mos ndodhen më në atë pikë.

Ai sqaroi se identiteti i viktimave mund të përcaktohet vetëm përmes analizave të ADN-së. Dyshimet janë se mbetjet mund t’i përkasin grupit të 23 intelektualëve shqiptarë, të cilët u rrëmbyen dhe u ekzekutuan në prill të vitit 1999.

Kryeministri në detyrë paralajmëroi se gërmimet mund të zgjasin edhe shumë javë apo muaj, për shkak se eshtrat janë gjetur të shpërndara buzë përroit. Ai theksoi se ky përrua ka gjasa të jetë i fuqishëm gjatë pranverës dhe mund t’i ketë lëvizur trupat nga vendi ku ishin varrosur. Duke folur edhe për proceset gjyqësore që kanë të bëjnë me krimet e luftës, Kurti e akuzoi Serbinë se po arreston njerëz që kanë ofruar informacione për këto krime.

Kurti shprehu mirënjohje për ekspertët e Institutit të Mjekësisë Ligjore dhe të EULEX-it që po punojnë në terren. Ai gjithashtu nënvizoi se institucionet e Kosovës do ta mbështesin procesin derisa të sqarohet fati i personave të zhdukur në luftë.

Ndërkohë, ish-eprori i UÇK-së, Naim Miftari, ka paraqitur detaje të tjera lidhur me të arrestuarin Radeviç.

Në një prononcim për “Bota sot”, Miftari deklaroi se Radeviç ka punuar si zjarrfikës në Zubin Potok. Ai kërkoi të zbulohet se me kë kishte qenë i arrestuari dhe cilët persona të tjerë kishin marrë pjesë në pushkatimin e 23 intelektualëve të Mitrovicës.

Sipas Miftarit, Jugosllav Radeviç ka qenë paramilitar, roje e urës dhe pjesëtar i mbrojtjes civile, ndërsa Hashim Thaçi dhe Ivica Daçiçi e kishin pranuar në organet e sigurisë së Kosovës. Ai tha se Radeviç sot punon si zjarrfikës serb në Zubin Potok dhe kërkoi që të merret në pyetje për personat që e shoqëronin dhe për të tjerët që morën pjesë në ekzekutimin e 23 intelektualëve të Mitrovicës.

Miftari kërkoi gjithashtu të sqarohet se kush ishte shqiptari nga Runiku dhe si ishte vendosur kontakti me një “shumar” serb, mik i babait, i cili duhej t’ua tregonte rrugën drejt Malit të Zi. Sipas tij, ky serb kishte radiolidhje të policisë serbe dhe i kishte informuar forcat serbe për grupin dhe drejtimin në të cilin po lëvizte.

Ai ngriti pyetje edhe për mënyrën se si kishte shpëtuar Faruk Spahiu, kryetari i Mitrovicës, së bashku me disa pjesëtarë të tjerë, ndoshta tre ose katër persona. Miftari kërkoi të bëhet e ditur se cili prej komandantëve serbë i kishte ndihmuar dhe kush i kishte liruar nga stacioni i policisë serbe në Mitrovicë të nesërmen.

Ish-eprori i UÇK-së komentoi edhe deklaratën e kryetarit të Skënderajt, Sami Lushtaku, i cili kishte vizituar zonën e gërmimeve dhe kishte kërkuar vazhdimin e arrestimeve të serbëve të dyshuar për krime lufte. Miftari reagoi duke kërkuar që të mos “bëhen filma”.

Ai u bëri thirrje ministrave të Qeverisë së Kosovës dhe përfaqësuesve të opozitës që të kërkojnë me këmbëngulje vazhdimin pa ndërprerje të punës nga forenzika, mjekësia ligjore dhe të gjitha degët përgjegjëse për verifikimin e viktimave.

Miftari kërkoi që mbetjet mortore në veri të verifikohen dhe që politikanët të mos organizojnë, siç u shpreh ai, defile dhe ekzibicione në vendin ku dyshohet se ndodhet një varr masiv me civilë shqiptarë të luftës së viteve 1998–1999. Në vend të shfaqjeve dhe rolit të patriotëve, ai kërkoi rezultate sa më të shpejta për këtë çështje të dhimbshme.

For the second consecutive day, Kosovo authorities are conducting excavations in Kalludër, in an area where the mortal remains of 23 people who went missing during the last war in Kosovo are suspected to have been buried.

On Tuesday, acting Interior Minister Xhelal Sveçla visited the site of the operation. According to him, the mass grave was located thanks to the intensive efforts of security institutions and cooperation from citizens.

Sveçla said that, alongside the excavations, investigative work is continuing to identify the victims and bring those responsible to justice. He stressed that the institutions would not cease their efforts until the body of the last missing person is found.

In connection with the case, the Special Prosecution has detained two people with the initials M.J. and M.B. for 48 hours on suspicion that they may be linked to the matter.

The Special Prosecution announced that the exhumation is being carried out under a court order. The process is being conducted in accordance with professional and international standards for identifying mortal remains and securing material evidence, with the involvement of the competent institutions and experts in the field.

The excavations are part of two criminal cases being investigated by the Special Prosecution. So far, the authorities have not released further details about the identity of the remains found or the nature of the cases under investigation.

Former KLA officer Naim Miftari told “Bota sot” that the grave may contain Albanians who had set out during the war to flee to Montenegro. He said that Halit Berani’s brother had also been killed in this group.

According to Miftari, the group consisted of 25 people, only two of whom managed to survive. He said the incident had occurred during the NATO bombing campaign, while after the war ended he had heard that the ZKZ had investigated the case. If this is the same grave, he believes it should contain 22 or 23 bodies, but added that he was not certain, although the members of this group are documented by name and surname.

He said the two survivors were a civilian from Kosterc, who had led the group, and Faruk Spahiu, who became head of the LDK branch in Mitrovica after the war. Miftari said that, as the third member of the ZKZ, he had officially questioned Spahiu after the war, but his explanations had not been clear. Later, according to him, someone had forced Spahiu to claim that he was being pressured solely because of his affiliation with the LDK, an allegation Miftari described as untrue.

Miftari also said that the group of 23-24 people had set out for Montenegro and had paid two people to guide them along the way. According to him, they fell into an ambush by Serb-Montenegrin reservists, among whom were also people of Bosniak ethnicity wearing Serbian uniforms. He claims that the group members were executed by the Serbian army and reservists.

Speaking more broadly about the circumstances of that period, the former officer said that no one wants the truth. He recalled that, after the bombing began, the KLA had warned educated citizens, doctors, professors, activists and humanitarians in Mitrovica and Vushtrri to leave for KLA-controlled areas and join it because, according to him, Serbia had planned to kill educated Albanians and those with integrity.

According to Miftari, most of those who answered the call and joined the KLA are still alive and became members of it. Among them, he mentioned Dr. Bajram Rexhepi, who joined Brigade 142 and, as a doctor, saved dozens and hundreds of civilian and military lives. Rexhepi was later elected mayor of Mitrovica and prime minister of Kosovo.

He also drew attention to the case of a doctor whose surname was Berisha. According to him, members of the Mitrovica city military police had informed the doctor that he needed to leave because he was on a kill list and was a target of the Serbian police. The doctor did not heed the warning, perhaps partly because of political influence, as he was an LDK member, like the majority of people in Kosovo at the time.

Miftari said that Dr. Berisha was killed in Mitrovica by Serbian police one or two days later. According to him, the unit was led by a police officer named Ratko, whose surname he could not remember. He added that the case had been investigated using names and surnames, along with dozens of other police officers suspected of killing Albanian civilians in Mitrovica and Vushtrri during the war.

In his account, Naim Miftari said that, as a former KLA fighter and officer, he had remained in Mitrovica and the surrounding area throughout the bombing campaign on orders from the command. He said he had actively participated in the resistance and in fighting inside the city of Mitrovica as well.

Miftari said that he bears moral and legal responsibility before the state and God for every detail and every piece of information he has provided, including some secret information.

He named commanders Enver Oruqi, Frahman Rama, Ferki Aliu, Mensur Kosumi, Gani Imeri and Besim Zymberi as people who, according to him, contributed to saving many intellectuals in Mitrovica and Vushtrri.

In conclusion, Miftari said that, to date, there has been no political will—either from the international community or from local politicians and officials—to investigate, solve and punish all crimes committed during the war, as well as some committed after the war. According to him, there has been extensive information that would have made it possible to pursue these cases.

Për të dytën ditë me radhë, autoritetet e Kosovës po kryejnë gërmime në Kalludër, në një zonë ku dyshohet se janë varrosur mbetjet mortore të 23 personave të zhdukur gjatë luftës së fundit në Kosovë.

Të martën, në vendin e operacionit qëndroi ministri në detyrë i Punëve të Brendshme, Xhelal Sveçla. Sipas tij, lokalizimi i varrezës masive u bë i mundur pas angazhimit intensiv të institucioneve të sigurisë dhe bashkëpunimit të qytetarëve.

Sveçla tha se, krahas gërmimeve, po vijon edhe puna hetimore për identifikimin e viktimave dhe dërgimin para drejtësisë të personave përgjegjës. Ai theksoi se institucionet nuk do ta ndërpresin angazhimin derisa të gjendet trupi i personit të fundit të zhdukur.

Në lidhje me këtë rast, Prokuroria Speciale ka ndaluar për 48 orë dy persona me inicialet M.J. dhe M.B., nën dyshimin se mund të jenë të lidhur me çështjen.

Prokuroria Speciale ka bërë të ditur se ekshumimi po realizohet mbi bazën e një urdhri gjyqësor. Procesi po zhvillohet sipas standardeve profesionale dhe ndërkombëtare për identifikimin e mbetjeve mortore dhe sigurimin e provave materiale, me përfshirjen e institucioneve kompetente dhe ekspertëve të fushës.

Gërmimet janë pjesë e dy rasteve penale që po hetohen nga Prokuroria Speciale. Deri tani, autoritetet nuk kanë publikuar hollësi të tjera për identitetin e mbetjeve të gjetura ose për natyrën e çështjeve që janë nën hetim.

Ish-eprori i UÇK-së, Naim Miftari, ka deklaruar për “Bota sot” se varreza mund t’u përkasë shqiptarëve që gjatë luftës ishin nisur për të ikur drejt Malit të Zi. Ai tha se në këtë grup ishte vrarë edhe vëllai i Halit Beranit.

Sipas Miftarit, grupi përbëhej nga 25 persona dhe vetëm dy prej tyre kishin arritur të shpëtonin. Ngjarja, siç tha ai, kishte ndodhur në periudhën e bombardimeve të NATO-s, ndërsa pas përfundimit të luftës kishte dëgjuar se ZKZ-ja kishte zhvilluar hetime për rastin. Nëse bëhet fjalë për të njëjtën varrezë, ai vlerëson se në të duhet të ndodhen 22 ose 23 kufoma, por shtoi se nuk është i sigurt, ndonëse personat e këtij grupi janë të evidentuar me emra dhe mbiemra.

Ai tregoi se dy të mbijetuarit ishin një civil nga Kosterci, i cili i kishte prirë grupit, dhe Faruk Spahiu, që pas luftës u bë kryetar i LDK-së për Mitrovicën. Miftari tha se, si pjesëtari i tretë i ZKZ-së, e kishte marrë zyrtarisht në pyetje Spahiun pas luftës, por shpjegimet e tij nuk kishin qenë të qarta. Më pas, sipas tij, dikush e kishte detyruar Spahiun të deklaronte se po i bëhej presion vetëm për shkak të përkatësisë së tij në LDK, pretendim që Miftari e cilësoi të pavërtetë.

Miftari deklaroi gjithashtu se grupi me 23-24 persona ishte nisur drejt Malit të Zi dhe kishte paguar dy persona për t’i udhëhequr gjatë rrugës. Sipas tij, ata ranë në një pritë të rezervistëve serbo-malazezë, mes të cilëve kishte edhe persona të nacionalitetit boshnjak të veshur me uniforma serbe. Ai pretendon se pjesëtarët e grupit u pushkatuan nga ushtria dhe rezervistët serbë.

Duke folur më gjerësisht për rrethanat e asaj periudhe, ish-eprori tha se askush nuk e dëshiron të vërtetën. Ai kujtoi se, pas nisjes së bombardimeve, UÇK-ja kishte paralajmëruar qytetarët e arsimuar, mjekët, profesorët, aktivistët dhe humanistët në Mitrovicë e Vushtrri që të largoheshin drejt zonave të kontrolluara nga UÇK-ja dhe t’i bashkoheshin asaj, pasi Serbia, sipas tij, kishte planifikuar vrasjen e shqiptarëve të arsimuar dhe me integritet.

Sipas Miftarit, pjesa më e madhe e atyre që iu përgjigjën thirrjes dhe iu bashkuan UÇK-së janë ende gjallë dhe u bënë pjesëtarë të saj. Mes tyre ai përmendi doktor Bajram Rexhepin, i cili u rreshtua në Brigadën 142 dhe, në cilësinë e mjekut, shpëtoi dhjetëra e qindra jetë civilësh dhe ushtarësh. Më vonë, Rexhepi u zgjodh kryetar i Mitrovicës dhe kryeministër i Kosovës.

Ai solli në vëmendje edhe rastin e një mjeku me mbiemrin Berisha. Sipas tij, pjesëtarët e policisë ushtarake të qytetit të Mitrovicës e kishin njoftuar mjekun se duhej të largohej, pasi ndodhej në listën për vrasje dhe ishte objektiv i policisë serbe. Mjeku nuk e kishte dëgjuar thirrjen, ndoshta edhe për shkak të ndikimit politik, pasi ishte anëtar i LDK-së, sikurse shumica e Kosovës në atë kohë.

Miftari tha se mjeku Berisha u vra në Mitrovicë nga policia serbe një ose dy ditë më vonë. Sipas tij, njësia drejtohej nga një polic me emrin Ratko, mbiemrin e të cilit nuk e kujton. Ai shtoi se rasti është hetuar me emra dhe mbiemra, së bashku me dhjetëra policë të tjerë të dyshuar për vrasjen e civilëve shqiptarë në Mitrovicë dhe Vushtrri gjatë luftës.

Në rrëfimin e tij, Naim Miftari deklaroi se, si ish-luftëtar dhe epror i UÇK-së, kishte qëndruar me urdhër të komandës në Mitrovicë dhe rrethinë gjatë gjithë periudhës së bombardimeve. Ai tha se kishte marrë pjesë në mënyrë aktive në rezistencë dhe në luftime edhe brenda qytetit të Mitrovicës.

Miftari u shpreh se mban përgjegjësi morale dhe ligjore para shtetit dhe Zotit për çdo të dhënë dhe për çdo informacion që ka ofruar, përfshirë edhe disa informacione sekrete.

Ai përmendi komandantët Enver Oruqi, Frahman Rama, Ferki Aliu, Mensur Kosumi, Gani Imeri dhe Besim Zymberi si persona që, sipas tij, kanë dhënë kontribut në shpëtimin e shumë intelektualëve në Mitrovicë dhe Vushtrri.

Në përfundim, Miftari deklaroi se deri tani nuk ka ekzistuar vullnet politik, as nga ndërkombëtarët dhe as nga politikanët e pushtetarët vendorë, për t’i hetuar, zbardhur dhe ndëshkuar të gjitha krimet e kryera gjatë luftës, si dhe disa prej atyre të pasluftës. Sipas tij, të dhënat që do të mundësonin ndjekjen e këtyre rasteve kanë qenë të shumta.

“Thanks to the ongoing commitment of security authorities and cooperation with the population, we have managed to identify a mass grave containing the remains of our fellow citizens. The activity continues on both the excavation and investigative fronts to identify the victims and bring the perpetrators to justice. We will not stop searching until we find the last missing person’s body,” Sveçla said.

As part of the investigation, the Special Prosecution has ordered 48-hour detention for two individuals identified with the initials M.J. and M.B., who are suspected of involvement in this case.

The Special Prosecution announced that the exhumation of mortal remains is being carried out under a court order and in full compliance with professional and international standards for handling material evidence and identifying victims.

They explained that the activity is being conducted with the participation of competent institutions and field specialists, strictly respecting the legal framework and technical criteria.

This action is part of two separate criminal investigative files managed by the Special Prosecution. So far, authorities have not released further information regarding the identity of the remains or the specific circumstances of the cases under review.

The prosecution has warned that additional details will be made public only to the extent that they do not compromise the progress of the criminal process, the identification procedure, and the rights of the families of the deceased.

In concluding the communication, the full commitment of institutions to thoroughly clarify the event and ensure justice for the victims’ families was reiterated.

“I think this grave contains the bodies of Albanians who were heading to Montenegro. The group consisted of 25 people, but only two managed to survive. That was the time when NATO bombings were underway. However, from what I learned after the war, the Missing Persons Office (ZKZ) also conducted investigations into this case. If this is their resting place, then there should be 22 or 23 bodies there. I cannot be entirely sure, because we had the members of this group registered by name and surname. Among them, the brother of Halit Berani was killed.

Strangely, only two people survived: a civilian from Kostërc, who was leading the group, and Faruk Spahiu, the post-war LDK chairman for Mitrovica. I personally, as the third member of the ZKZ, officially questioned him after the war, but he was not accurate in his statement. Later, someone forced him to claim that he was being pressured solely because of his LDK affiliation, which was not true. That group of 23-24 people had fled toward Montenegro. They had paid two persons to guide them, but they fell into an ambush organized by Serb-Montenegrin reservists, where there were also Bosniaks in Serbian uniforms. These people were executed by regular forces and Serbian reservists,” Miftari told “Bota sot”.

He shared more about the circumstances of the excavations, adding that no one wants to confront the truth. Miftari recalled that at the start of the airstrikes, the KLA had warned intellectuals, doctors, professors, and activists in Mitrovica and Vushtrri to withdraw to areas controlled by the KLA and join it, because Serbia had a plan to eliminate all educated and influential Albanians.

Most of those who heeded the advice and became part of the KLA are still alive today. Among them was Dr. Bajram Rexhepi, who joined the 142nd Brigade and, as a doctor, saved hundreds of civilian and military lives. He later served as mayor of Mitrovica and prime minister of Kosovo.

“No one wants the truth. Thus, a doctor with the surname Berisha had been warned by members of the Mitrovica military police that he had to leave the city, as he was on the Serbian police murder target list. He did not heed our call for evacuation; perhaps he was politically influenced, being an LDK sympathizer, as was the majority of Kosovo’s population at that time. He was killed one or two days later in Mitrovica by Serbian police, led by an officer named Ratko; the surname escapes me. However, we have it documented, with names and surnames, together with dozens of other police officers who committed murders of Albanian civilians in Mitrovica and Vushtrri during the war,” stressed the former commander.

Finally, he mentioned the names of those who contributed to saving many intellectuals, concluding that there has never been political will to prosecute, clarify, and punish the entirety of the crimes.

“I, Naim Miftari, a former fighter and superior of the KLA, by command order, was present throughout the bombing period in Mitrovica and its surroundings. I was an active part of the resistance and the fight even within the city of Mitrovica itself. For every word, every piece of data, even classified information, I bear full moral and legal responsibility before our state and before God.

I forgot to mention that in the rescue of a large number of intellectuals in Mitrovica and Vushtrri, special contributions were made by commanders Enver Oruqi, Frahman Rama, Ferki Aliu, Mensur Kosumi, Gani Imeri, and Besim Zymberi. To this day, there has never been political will, neither from the international community nor from our politicians and government officials, to pursue, shed light on, and punish all crimes, both those committed during the war and some afterward. There was ample evidence to prosecute them,” Miftari concluded.

Në kuadër të hetimeve, Prokuroria Speciale ka vendosur në ndalim për 48 orë dy individë të identifikuar me inicialet M.J. dhe M.B., të cilët dyshohet se kanë përfshirje në këtë ngjarje.

Prokuroria Speciale bëri të ditur se procesi i nxjerrjes së mbetjeve mortore po zhvillohet në bazë të një urdhri gjyqësor dhe në përputhje të plotë me standardet profesionale e ndërkombëtare për trajtimin e provave materiale dhe identifikimin e viktimave.

Ata sqaruan se aktiviteti po kryhet me pjesëmarrjen e institucioneve kompetente dhe specialistëve të fushës, duke respektuar rreptësisht kornizën ligjore dhe kriteret teknike.

Ky veprim është pjesë e dy dosjeve të veçanta hetimore penale të menaxhuara nga Prokuroria Speciale. Deri tani, autoritetet nuk kanë dhënë informacione të tjera lidhur me identitetin e eshtrave apo rrethanat specifike të rasteve në shqyrtim.

Prokuroria ka paralajmëruar se detajet plotësuese do të bëhen publike vetëm në atë masë që nuk cenohet ecuria e procesit penal, procedura e identifikimit dhe të drejtat e familjarëve të të ndjerëve.

Në përmbyllje të komunikimit, u ripërsërit angazhimi i plotë i institucioneve për sqarimin e plotë të ngjarjes dhe për garantimin e drejtësisë për familjet e viktimave.

Ish- komandanti i Ushtrisë Çlirimtare të Kosovës, Naim Miftari, ka shprehur bindjen se varreza mund t’u përkasë shqiptarëve që po përpiqeshin të arratiseshin drejt Malit të Zi. Ai kujtoi se në atë grup bënte pjesë edhe vëllai i Halit Beranit.

“Mendoj se kjo varrezë përmban trupat e shqiptarëve që ishin nisur për në Mal të Zi. Grupi përbëhej nga 25 vetë, por vetëm dy ia dolën të mbijetonin. Ajo ishte koha kur po zhvilloheshin bombardimet e NATO-s. Megjithatë, nga sa kam marrë vesh pas përfundimit të luftës, edhe Zyra për të Zhdukurit (ZKZ) ka kryer hetime për këtë rast. Nëse ky është vendi i tyre i prehjes, atëherë aty duhet të gjenden 22 ose 23 trupa. Nuk mund të jem plotësisht i sigurt, sepse ne i kemi të regjistruar me emra dhe mbiemra pjesëtarët e këtij grupi. Në mesin e tyre u vra edhe vëllai i Halit Beranit.

Çuditërisht, shpëtuan vetëm dy persona: një civil nga Kostërci, i cili e drejtonte grupin, dhe Faruk Spahiu, ish-kryetari i LDK-së për Mitrovicën pas lufte. Unë personalisht, si anëtari i tretë i ZKZ-së, e kam marrë në pyetje zyrtarisht pas lufte, por ai nuk ishte i saktë në deklaratën e tij. Më pas, dikush e detyroi të pretendonte se po ushtrohej presion ndaj tij vetëm për shkak të përkatësisë në LDK, gjë që nuk qëndronte. Ai grup prej 23-24 vetësh ishte vënë në arrati drejt Malit të Zi. Kishin paguar dy persona për t’i udhëhequr, por ranë në një pritë të organizuar nga rezervistë serbo-malazezë, ku kishte edhe boshnjakë me uniforma serbe. Këta njerëz u ekzekutuan nga forcat e rregullta dhe rezervistët serbë”, ka deklaruar Miftari për “Bota sot”.

Ai ka treguar më shumë rreth rrethanave të gërmimeve, duke shtuar se askush nuk dëshiron të përballet me të vërtetën. Miftari kujtoi se, me fillimin e sulmeve ajrore, UÇK-ja kishte paralajmëruar intelektualët, mjekët, profesorët dhe veprimtarët në Mitrovicë e Vushtrri që të tërhiqeshin drejt zonave të kontrolluara nga UÇK-ja dhe t’i bashkoheshin asaj, sepse Serbia kishte një plan për të eliminuar të gjithë shqiptarët e shkolluar dhe me ndikim.

Shumica e atyre që dëgjuan këshillën dhe u bënë pjesë e UÇK-së janë ende gjallë sot. Midis tyre ishte edhe doktor Bajram Rexhepi, i cili iu bashkua Brigadës 142 dhe, si mjek, shpëtoi qindra jetë civilësh dhe ushtarësh. Ai më vonë shërbeu si kryetar i Mitrovicës dhe kryeministër i Kosovës.

“Askush nuk e do të vërtetën. Kështu, një mjek me mbiemrin Berisha ishte paralajmëruar nga pjesëtarët e policisë ushtarake të Mitrovicës se duhej të largohej nga qyteti, pasi ndodhej në listën e objektivave për vrasje të policisë serbe. Ai nuk e dëgjoi thirrjen tonë për t’u evakuuar; ndoshta ishte ndikuar edhe politikisht, duke qenë simpatizant i LDK-së, siç ishte shumica e popullsisë së Kosovës në atë kohë. Ai u vra një ose dy ditë më vonë në Mitrovicë nga policia serbe, e drejtuar nga një polic me emrin Ratko; mbiemri nuk më kujtohet. Megjithatë, ne e kemi të dokumentuar me emra dhe mbiemra, së bashku me dhjetëra policë të tjerë që kryen vrasje të civilëve shqiptarë në Mitrovicë dhe Vushtrri gjatë luftës”, theksoi ish-komandanti.

Në fund, ai përmendi emrat e atyre që kontribuan në shpëtimin e shumë intelektualëve, duke përfunduar se asnjëherë nuk ka ekzistuar vullneti politik për të ndjekur penalisht, zbardhur dhe ndëshkuar tërësinë e krimeve.

“Unë, Naim Miftari, ish-luftëtar dhe epror i UÇK-së, me urdhër të komandës, kam qenë i pranishëm gjatë gjithë periudhës së bombardimeve në Mitrovicë dhe rrethinat e saj. Kam qenë pjesë aktive e rezistencës dhe luftës edhe brenda vetë qytetit të Mitrovicës. Për çdo fjalë, për çdo të dhënë, madje edhe për informacionet e klasifikuara, mbaj përgjegjësi të plotë morale dhe ligjore para shtetit tonë dhe para Zotit.

Harrova të përmend se në shpëtimin e një numri të madh intelektualësh në Mitrovicë dhe Vushtrri, kontribut të veçantë dhanë komandantët Enver Oruqi, Frahman Rama, Ferki Aliu, Mensur Kosumi, Gani Imeri dhe Besim Zymberi. Deri më sot, nuk ka pasur kurrë vulnet politik, as nga ana e ndërkombëtarëve, as nga politikanët dhe qeveritarët tanë, për të ndjekur, zbardhur dhe dënuar të gjitha krimet, si ato të kryera gjatë luftës, ashtu edhe disa pas saj. Të dhëna për t’i ndjekur penalisht ka pasur me bollëk”, përfundoi Miftari.
