Memaliaj Municipal Council held an extraordinary meeting following a proposal by opposition councilors and representatives of small parties, deciding to hold public consultations with residents in all of the municipality’s administrative units.

Twelve of the council’s 15 members attended the meeting. The decision to organize the hearings was approved unanimously.

The meetings with the community are scheduled for September 8, 9, and 10. Two hearings will be held each day, involving all administrative units.

A committee consisting of representatives of the municipal council was established to coordinate and oversee the process. Afize Sula was appointed its chair, while Flamur Muçomati was elected deputy chair and Xhevit Kaçorri secretary.

Bujar Mamaj and Petrit Lumani were appointed as committee members.

The purpose of these hearings is to ensure that residents’ concerns and problems are conveyed more directly to the local institution, Memaliaj Municipality.
