Minister of Internal Affairs, Pançe Toshkovski, stated in an interview for Kanal 5 that authorities are working intensively to solve the murder of the 26-year-old, which happened last night in Çair. He said that the Ministry of Internal Affairs has initial data on the suspects and that one of them is currently serving a prison sentence.

According to Toshkovski, investigators have gathered sufficient evidence regarding the identity of the perpetrators. The minister expressed hope that they will be caught as soon as possible and face criminal prosecution.

“At this moment, I would not be able to officially identify the motives. I can only emphasize that intensive work is being done on the criminal case in question. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has initial information about the perpetrators. It has also secured appropriate evidence regarding who the perpetrators are, so I hope we will secure them as soon as possible and they will be subjected to criminal prosecution, as, let’s say, many have been in the past period, while they have committed a large number of crimes in recent years,” Toshkovski said about the serious incident in Çair.

The victim, a 26-year-old, was shot by two people on a motorcycle.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs announcement, the case was reported to the Skopje Police Department around 11:30 p.m. last night. Present near the intersection of “Prohor Pcinski” and “Vojdan Chernodrinski” streets in Skopje were D.G. (29), A.Dz. (24), K.B. (36), E.B. (25) and A.M. (26), all from Skopje, who were standing in front of a company’s window.

At that moment, a motorcycle with two people stopped near them, who opened fire on the group and then fled. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Macedonia announced that today, on July 31, 2026, at 07:30, members of the Department of Internal Affairs in Gostivar arrested D.S. (58), a resident of the village of Raven in Gostivar. He is suspected of the criminal offense of “unauthorized production and distribution of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors.”

By court order, the police searched the 58-year-old’s home and auxiliary premises, where they found and confiscated a white powdery substance, marijuana, and pistol cartridges.

According to the MoI, D.S. was taken and detained at the police station, and once the documentation of the case is completed, appropriate charges will be filed against him.
