A 32-year-old from Kërçova, identified as D.S., was arrested by police forces from the Kërçova station on September 9, 2026, around 3:10 a.m. He is suspected of committing the criminal offense of negligent driving of a motor vehicle, as stipulated under Article 297-a of the Criminal Code.

According to reports, the young man was behind the wheel of a “Volkswagen Golf” with local license plates when, at the roundabout on “Boris Kidriç” Street, he lost control and crashed into a concrete curb, ending up off the roadway.

During the accident management procedures, authorities discovered that D.S. was driving the car despite an active ban on his category B license. In addition, he refused to submit to an alcohol test. As announced by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, on the instruction of the public prosecutor, the car was seized and, after full documentation of the event, a corresponding indictment will be filed against the 32-year-old.

A 39-year-old man from Strumica was found dead on the grounds of the Clinical Hospital in Bitola, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced.

According to the police report, the case was reported to the Bitola Sector for Internal Affairs last night, at around 12:15 a.m.

The death of J.I. was confirmed by a doctor from Bitola’s Emergency Medical Service. On the orders of the public prosecutor, the body will undergo an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

The Tetovo Sector for Internal Affairs said that, over the past 24 hours, three cases of physical assault and one incident involving a gun threat had been recorded in Tetovo, Gostivar and the surrounding areas.

In the village of Dobërdoll, N.J. (60) reported to the Gostivar Police Department that he had been physically assaulted by his fellow villager, M.N.

The report was filed on 28.08.2026 at 10:20, and both individuals are from Dobërdoll, Gostivar.

Another case was recorded in Tetovo. Gj.R. (55) stated that, at around 20:45, D.J. (35), both of them from Tetovo, physically assaulted his minor son. The incident was reported on 28.08.2026 at 23:00 to the Tetovo Sector for Internal Affairs.

After midnight, on 29.08.2026 at 00:40, another altercation was reported in Tetovo. According to the report, Gj.R. (55) physically assaulted D.J. (35), both residents of Tetovo.

A more serious incident was reported in Želino. M.D. (29) notified police on 29.08.2026, at around 02:00, that while he was in the village with his friends A.B., I.R., R.H. and R.Xh., all from Želino, R.Sh. from Želino approached them holding a knife.

M.D. stated that R.Sh., with whom he had previously had a disagreement, then pulled out a pistol, shot him and pointed it at the complainant.

The Tetovo Sector for Internal Affairs said that measures were being taken to fully clarify all the cases.

The Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Gostivar has opened proceedings against four residents of the village of Dobërdoll, in the Municipality of Vrapçisht, following a criminal complaint filed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. They are suspected of committing the criminal offense of “Causing General Danger,” punishable under Article 288, Paragraph 3, in conjunction with Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code.

The prosecution said the incident occurred on the evening of July 31, during a family celebration held in the yard of a house in the village. The suspects allegedly fired into the air with three pistols and a rifle whose make and caliber are unknown.

As a result of the use of firearms, the lives of many people attending the wedding were put at risk.

Due to circumstances indicating a possibility that each of them could flee, the public prosecutor asked the pretrial judge in Gostivar to order detention for all four suspects. One of them, in addition to North Macedonian citizenship, also holds Slovenian citizenship.
