The Ministry of Internal Affairs says that the situation involving employees’ health insurance is not the result of any action on its part. According to the ministry, employees were not instructed to contact the Health Insurance Fund for clarification.

Since yesterday, a large number of employees with health problems have been left without health insurance, while the cause of the situation remains unknown.

“Following checks carried out by the relevant organizational units, it was determined that the problem with health insurance was not caused by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Contributions for all registered employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were paid regularly together with the salary payment for July 2026. To obtain further information about the status of your health insurance, you should contact the Health Insurance Fund,” the ministry told “Sloboden Pechat.”

Since yesterday, none of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ employees has been registered as having health insurance. A person was detained by police in Skopje after narcotics were found during a search and subsequently confiscated.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that, based on operational information obtained earlier, during the night of August 4/5, 2026, officers from the Unit for Combating Illegal Trafficking within the Skopje Department of Internal Affairs searched J.B., S.V. and D.P. on Partizanske Odredi Boulevard in Skopje.

The search revealed that D.P. had two jars containing a total of 25 packages of marijuana. Police also seized a digital scale with marijuana residue.

Following his arrest, the person was taken to the “Gjorče Petrov” Police Station. By order of the public prosecutor, he was detained pending further proceedings.
