A fire that broke out in the early hours of the morning at a shopping center in Shuto Orizari destroyed around 20 shops selling textiles and other goods.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Interior, no one was injured in the incident, while the flames were brought under control and extinguished by teams from the Skopje Fire Brigade.

The report of the incident was received by the Skopje Internal Affairs Sector at around 3:20 a.m. The shops, owned by S.S., who had rented them out, were located at a shopping center in the Shuto Orizari area.

The Ministry of Interior said that the necessary measures were being taken to fully clarify the case.

The Central Military Commission had earlier reported that 15 firefighters, using six fire engines, took part in the intervention. The firefighting operation lasted from 3:30 a.m. to 6:45 a.m.

Police officers from the Kumanovo Sector of Internal Affairs arrested A.I., 53, from Kumanovo, yesterday, on 10.09.2026, at 1:45 p.m., the Ministry of Interior of Macedonia reported.

During a court-ordered search of his home, authorities discovered and seized heroin.

The detainee was held at the police station, and following the completion of the case documentation, appropriate charges will be filed against him, the ministry said.

A serious incident shook the city of Kërçovë yesterday afternoon, where a person lost his life as a result of a fire that engulfed his apartment. According to the official announcement from the Ministry of Interior, the signal for flames in an apartment on “4 July” street arrived at the Kërçovë Regional Police Station around 18:55, from the Territorial Firefighting Unit.

After the intervention to extinguish the fire, the firefighting teams of Kërçovë discovered inside the premises the lifeless and burned body of S.S., a 37-year-old resident of this city. The emergency service doctor pronounced the death of the 37-year-old at the scene.

Immediately after this, the authorities launched investigation procedures. A public prosecutor, along with a specialized team from the Kërçovë Department of Internal Affairs, carried out a detailed inspection of the area to clarify the circumstances of this tragic incident.
