Interior Minister Besfort Lamallari has summoned the local State Police chiefs to a meeting. The meeting will be held at 09:00 at the General Directorate of the State Police.

The meeting comes at a difficult time for the country due to the situation caused by wildfires in several areas of Albania.

In recent days, the State Police have arrested and brought proceedings against several people suspected of involvement in arson.

The meeting also follows a series of other incidents reported in recent days. Discussions are expected to focus on the public order and security situation, emergency management, and the measures that must be taken by local State Police structures.
