The court has decided to ease the security measure imposed on Gentian Gjyli, the former head of the Albanian Road Authority (ARRSH), who is under investigation over the tendering procedures for the construction of the Llogara Tunnel.

According to journalist Klodiana Lala, Gjyli has been placed under the security measure of “Obligation to Appear,” as well as being banned from leaving the country.

Gjyli is one of the people implicated in the case concerning the tendering and construction procedures for the Llogara Tunnel.

In the same case, former Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku has also been formally charged.

This Wednesday, former ARRSH head Gentian Gjyli filed a request with the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime (GJKKO) to revoke the “house arrest” security measure imposed on him.

Gjyli faces charges in connection with the tender procedures for the construction of the Llogara Tunnel, a case in which former Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku has also been indicted.

The former ARRSH head’s request is expected to be reviewed by the Special Court, while judicial proceedings related to the investigation into the Llogara Tunnel tender continue.
