The petition was signed during a meeting with residents, where the latest developments were reviewed in the case in which KLA veteran Bekim Meta was injured. At the end of the meeting, it was decided that the document would be submitted to the Kosovo Police and the Prosecutor’s Office.

The incident had taken place four days earlier, when, according to suspicions, a group of people from the Roma community attacked Skënder Shahini in front of his house, as well as KLA war veteran Bekim Meta.

Ramë Bardhi, a member of the Magurë village council, said that the people who, according to him, bear responsibility for this case should not be allowed to enter the village again.

“Thank God nothing worse happened, because something even more serious could have happened, but it stopped at that. I am of the opinion, if you agree as well, that these criminals — we have taken all your names in signatures — should never return to Magurë again,” he said.

Bardhi added that this incident had not affected only three families, but all the families of Magurë.

“This did not happen to three families, but to all the families of Magurë. It is everyone’s case,” Bardhi stressed.

The chairman of the Magurë village council, Ramiz Gashi, also said that the latest case had shaken the residents and called on citizens to cooperate with the justice authorities with any information they may have.

“The latest case that happened has shaken us all; it is a very serious case, one that none of us expected from some notorious criminals, who have never been welcome here. Because we all know what they have done here. And those who know something about them should not keep it to themselves, but should come forward before justice and make a statement. Gashi also stressed that the case had caused great concern among residents, also mentioning KLA veteran Bekim Meta.

“We are very concerned about the latest case involving our soldier, Bekim Meta, who was targeted by some criminal hands,” he stressed.

Village resident Shaban Qerimi also spoke at the meeting, expressing support for the residents of Magurë and saying they would stand by any decision made regarding this case.

“I want to tell all my fellow villagers that whatever decision is made, we Ashkalis are with you as well,” he stressed.

Nënshkrimi i peticionit u bë gjatë një takimi me banorët, ku u shqyrtuan zhvillimet e fundit rreth rastit në të cilin mbeti i lënduar veterani i UÇK-së, Bekim Meta. Në fund të takimit, u vendos që dokumenti t’i dorëzohet Policisë së Kosovës dhe Prokurorisë.

Ngjarja kishte ndodhur katër ditë më parë, kur, sipas dyshimeve, një grup personash nga komuniteti rom sulmuan para shtëpisë së tij Skënder Shahinin, si edhe veteranin e luftës së UÇK-së, Bekim Meta.

Anëtari i Këshillit të fshatit Magurë, Ramë Bardhi, deklaroi se personat që sipas tij mbajnë përgjegjësi për këtë rast nuk duhet të lejohen të hyjnë sërish në fshat.

Bardhi shtoi se kjo ngjarje nuk ka prekur vetëm tri familje, por të gjitha familjet e Magurës.

“Kjo nuk ka ndodhur me tri familje, por ka ndodhur me krejt familjet e Magurës. Është rast i të gjithëve”, theksoi Bardhi.

Edhe kryetari i Këshillit të fshatit Magurë, Ramiz Gashi, tha se rasti i fundit i ka tronditur banorët dhe u bëri thirrje qytetarëve që për çdo informacion që kanë të bashkëpunojnë me organet e drejtësisë.

“Rasti i fundit që ka ndodhur na ka tronditur të gjithëve, është rast shumë i rëndë, rast që se kemi pritur askush nga disa kriminelë famëkeq, të cilët nuk kanë qenë të mirëpritur këtu asnjëherë. Gashi theksoi gjithashtu se rasti ka shkaktuar shqetësim të madh te banorët, duke përmendur edhe veteranin e UÇK-së, Bekim Meta.

“Jemi shumë të shqetësuar për rastin e fundit me ushtarin tonë, Bekim Meta të cilin e kanë prekur do daur kriminale”, theksoi ai.

Në takim foli edhe banori i fshatit Shaban Qerimi, i cili shprehu mbështetjen për banorët e Magurës dhe tha se do të jenë pranë çdo vendimi që merret për këtë rast.

“Unë dua t’ju them të gjithë bashkëfshatarëve të mi se çdo vendim që do të merret, edhe ne ashkalinjtë jemi me ju”, theksoi ai.

Në lidhje me incidentin, Gjykata në Lipjan caktoi masën e arrestit shtëpiak për veteranin dhe invalidin e luftës së UÇK-së, Bekim Meta, si dhe për Skendër Shahinin, palë të përfshira në ngjarje.

We only acted in self-defense, we carried out no attack whatsoever…. They held us in detention for 48 hours. After that, the court placed us under house arrest for 30 days. The other side too, according to the information I have, was sentenced to 30 days in detention. Now we are waiting to see what will happen after these 30 days. I recognized around 80 percent of them. There were approximately 20 people. We had no previous conflict with them, but they are our neighbors,” he said.

He claimed that at the root of the incident was a dispute over a plot of land, which he said had been given for use with permission from the municipality. According to Shahini, the people involved tried to take that plot by force.

Shahini added that even after the incident he continues to feel at risk.

“They had iron rods, baseball bats, hoes and shovels. They hit me in the head. I lost consciousness. At the hospital they stitched my head in four places. I only defended myself, I did not attack anyone. We feel endangered, because they could come again at any time. We expect them to come back again. If they come back and behave as they did last time, we will defend our doorstep, we will defend our neighbors,” he said.

His version of the event was also given by Hysen Meta, the father of KLA veteran and war invalid Bekim Meta. He claims that the clash began after provocations and that the other side had various implements with them.

According to him, there were injured people as a result of the clash, while his son suffered serious injuries.

“They provoked us, they monitored the terrain even with drones, they had with them knife handles, hammer handles, iron rods; one of them came out from behind and said, ‘we will do worse to you than in ’99, I will make it bloody.’ That is where the conflict started. The neighbors came out, we came out for Bekim, Bekim came out for us. That is how it was. With God’s help they were stopped, because they were all armed… Bekim was seriously injured in the arm, his arm is broken, they received medical treatment,” he said.

Bekim Meta’s father also said that the family still does not feel safe after what happened and that without police intervention, the situation could have taken even more serious proportions.

His account was also given by Isuf Avdullahu, a resident who lives near the place where the clash happened in Magurë. He said everything started after they had come to bury their sister and that their aim, according to him, was to carry out the attack.

“The protest, or support, is for veteran Bekim Meta, who was, so to speak, attacked by the other side. It wasn’t… Bekim’s neighbor was attacked, and Bekim initially intervened to separate them. But as time went on, he also became part of it. They are known… the police know and the residents of Magura know who the other side are. Two of them, according to the information available, were also dressed in uniforms during the time of former Serbia. They do not live in Magura; they live somewhere in Serbia, but they came in an organized way, around 22 or 23 of them took part in that action, when they first attacked Bekim Meta’s neighbor, Skender Shahini. According to the neighbor, that Skender, after the war he found some weapons in their house and quite a lot of ammunition, around 30 kg or something like that. And they told him not to report the case to the police or even to KFOR, saying they would give him money and things. But Skenda did not accept, and now after quite a long time, after several years, they came and attacked him. Supposedly because he took their property, but Skenda did not take their property; he is on his own property. They still have their property exactly as they left it,” Jusufi told KosovaPress.

Another protest participant, Ramë Bardhi, told KosovaPress that the detention of veteran Bekim Meta is unjust, adding that the attackers threatened him with the words: “We did nothing in ’98, what are we going to do now?”

Bardhi: We will not stop the protests until the liberator is released

“The main reason is to release the liberator. To release the liberator. There is absolutely no reason to keep the liberator in prison. For a criminal to come from Serbia and attack the liberator in Magura, this cannot be tolerated. This cannot be tolerated. They came and attacked the neighbor. This veteran, this liberator, only intervened to separate them. But when he stepped in there, they started taking advantage, and then the clash happened… We will not stop the protests. War veteran Sejdi Dulla also said he had never imagined that veterans would face such situations so many years after the end of the war.

Arsim Jusufi, on the other hand, said the protesters expect the court to issue a fair ruling and warned that the protests would continue if Meta is not released.

Now we hope that the justice bodies, in this case the court, will issue the right verdict and that Bekim will be released and return to his home because he is very ill. We will continue, I believe we will talk with all fellow fighters and continue the peaceful protest until his release. A freedom fighter cannot be equated with people who wore uniforms. They should be punished for what they did in the ’90s-’99 and for all the problems they caused,” he said.

According to Arsim Jusufi, the case in Magbure, Lipjan, is not the only one, as he said similar provocations are also taking place in the village of Grac.

Një tjetër pjesëmarrës në protestë, Ramë Bardhi, tha për KosovaPress se mbajtja e veteranit Bekim Meta është e padrejtë, duke shtuar se sulmuesit e kanë kërcënuar me fjalët: “Kurgjo nuk kemi ba në ‘98, çka kemi me bërë tash“.

Bardhi: Protestat nuk do t`i ndalim derisa të lirohet çlirimtari

“Arsyeja kryesore është me u liruar çlirimtari. Me u liruar çlirimtari. Nuk ka kurrfarë arsye me mbajtur në burg çlirimtarin. Me ardhë prej Serbisë kriminel e me sulmuar çlirimtarin në Magurë, kjo nuk tolerohet. Kjo nuk tolerohet. Janë ardhë e kanë sulmuar fqinjin. Ky veterani, çlirimtari, ky veç ka ndërhyrë me i nda. Po kur ka hy aty, ata nisin me keqpërdorur, me pa u përlesh… Ne protesta s’kemi me ndalur. Në qoftë se dënohet çlirimtari, protesta s’kemi me ndalur. Deri sa të lirohet shpejt. Deri sa të lirohet shpejt. Protesta s’kemi me ndalur. S’kemi me ndalur”, tha ai.

Edhe veterani i luftës, Sejdi Dulla, tha se nuk e kishte menduar që veteranët do të përballeshin me situata të tilla shumë vite pas përfundimit të luftës.

“Po, të them të drejtën, 30 vitet mbas luftës se kemi menduar ne që kemi me pasë, me na ardhur kriminelë, me na ardhur paramilitarët edhe me na sulmuar nëpër shtëpia. Ne veteranë të luftës ose ne invalidë të luftës, me na u sulmuar njerëz që kanë qenë me uniforma paramilitarë të Serbisë. Edhe fillimisht, unë i përshëndes të gjithë këta pjesëmarrës që kanë marrë, që kanë marrë pjesë në protesta, edhe kërkoj nga gjykata që veteranin ta lirojnë përnjëherë, se ne jemi në shtëpinë tonë, ata kanë qenë paramilitarë. Ata kanë qenë tre të veshur prej tyre. Edhe kështu që me ardhë me na sulmuar, është e padrejtë. Po nuk di çka me thënë, nuk e di, s’kam besuar kurrë që ka me ardh kjo ditë që mbas kësaj kohe me ardhë prapë paramilitarët edhe me na sulmuar nëpër shtëpia.”, u shpreh Dulla.

Arsim Jusufi, nga ana tjetër, tha se protestuesit presin që gjykata të japë një vendim të drejtë dhe paralajmëroi vazhdimin e protestave nëse Meta nuk lirohet.

“Ky është një organizim mbështetje një djalit që ka dhënë kontribut të jashtëzakonshëm, i cili ende pas 26 vite i ka tre predha në kokë në tru e nuk guxojnë me i larguar edhe e vuan atë pasojë për me çliruar vendin tonë. Njeriu ka qenë në shtëpi të vet, ata janë ardhë tri ditë më herët, kanë provokuar me drona, me gjëra edhe ka ardhur deri te problemi, tash shpresojmë që organet e drejtësisë, në këtë rast gjykata, në të japë verdiktin e drejtë edhe të lirohet Bekimi e të vijnë në shtëpi të vet për arsye se është shumë i sëmurë. Ne do vazhdojmë, unë besoj që do bisedojmë me me të gjithë bashkëluftëtarët do të vazhdojmë protestën paqësore deri në lirimin e tijna. Nuk mund të barazohet luftëtari i lirisë me njerëz që kanë qenë të veshur në uniformë. Ata duhet me u dënuar për atë që e kanë bërë vitet ’90-’99 edhe për problemet e të gjitha të cilat i kanë bërë”, tha ai.

Sipas Arsim Jusufit, rasti i Magburës në Lipjan nuk është i vetmi, pasi, siç tha ai, provokime të ngjashme po ndodhin edhe në fshatin Grac.

“Vetëm për të mbjellat me grurë janë 66 mijë hektarë në gjithë Republikën. Fermeri i Kosovës është më i përkrahuri në rajon, gjitha reformat që i kemi marrë për procedurat, legjislacionin, menaxhimin e financave nuk do të ishin të mundura pa përkrahjen e Qeverisë dhe kryeministrit të vendit”.

Bujku Valbon Vehabi tha se korrjet në Rrafshin e Kosovës përfundojnë për 4 ditë e më pas do të vazhdohet me Gollakun.

“Ne sot kemi filluar me korrje, fillimi është i mirë, rendimenti do të jetë i kënaqshëm. Kemi sasi të madhe të autokombajave”.

“Besojmë që rrafshi i Kosovës brenda 3-4 ditëve do ta përfundojë korrjen, pastaj do të nisim me Gollakun”.

Në gjithë territorin e Republikës së Kosovës, në kuadër të mbjelljeve vjeshtore të vitit 2022 me kulturën e grurit është mbjellë një sipërfaqe prej 71 008.20 hektarë.

Lajmin për Gazetën Express e ka konfirmuar zëdhënësi i Policisë së Kosovës për rajonin e Prishtinës, Agron Borovci.

Ai tha se policia ka nisur një hetim mbi vdekjen e tij.

“Rreth orës 13:00, është pranuar informata për një trup të pajetë. Ngjarja dyshohet të ketë ndodhur në fshatin Hallaq i Madh në komunën e Lipjanit.

Ndërkohë, mediat lokale kanë publikuar fotografinë e viktimës.

“Mjekët emergjent  kanë konstatur vdekjen e viktimës, mashkull, 19 vjeç. Policia menjëherë ka dalë në vendin e ngjarjes dhe ka nisur një hetim mbi vdekjen, dhe me kujdes të shtuar po ndërmerr të gjitha veprimet e duhura hetimore dhe ekzaminuese, që do të ndihmonin hetimin e ngjarjes si dhe ndriçimin e plotë të rastit”, tha Borovci./gazeta express
