Only one day remains before the final verdict is announced against four former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army.

The verdict will be made public by the Specialist Chambers in The Hague on Wednesday at 10:00.

Hashim Thaçi, a former president; Kadri Veseli and Jakup Krasniqi, former parliamentary speakers; and Rexhep Selimi, a former member of parliament, are accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity. All four have pleaded not guilty to each count of the indictment filed by the Specialist Prosecutor’s Office.

During their closing statements in The Hague, their defense teams asked that the accused be acquitted of all charges.

The defense of former parliamentary speaker Jakup Krasniqi is led by lawyer Venkateswari Alagendra.

His legal team also includes Aiden Ellis, Viktor Bejeshu and Shiamala Alagendra Khan, serving as co-counsel.

In its final statements before the trial panel, the defense asked that Krasniqi be found not guilty of all charges against him.
