Two children sustained minor injuries in an accident in the city of Kukës around midday today.

Police said in a preliminary statement that the incident occurred at around 1:30 p.m. on Dituria Street. V. D., who was driving the vehicle, is suspected of losing control, veering off the road and crashing into the wall of a business.

Two passengers, the driver’s children, aged 10 and 7, were slightly injured in the accident. After receiving the necessary medical treatment, they returned home.

The investigative team is at the scene and is working to determine the full causes and circumstances of the accident.

Using a small excavator rented for a fee and their own labour, they have gone out into the field to repair the damaged pipeline. The storm is reported to have affected the Tropojë area, where intense rainfall in the Lekbibaj administrative unit caused landslides and debris flows.

Masses of soil and rocks have also accumulated on several road sections, making it difficult for vehicles to pass.

Once weather conditions improve, authorities are expected to intervene to clear the roads and restore normality in the affected areas.
