Arbër Rexhaj, an MP from the Vetëvendosje Movement, has said that the refusal to vote for the deputy speakers of Parliament is being used as a political tool.

Speaking on the Debat Plus program, he said that Kujtim Shala of the LDK and Vlora Çitaku of the PDK cannot count on LVV’s votes for the deputy speaker posts.

Rexhaj said that withholding votes from them is a political tool and that Shala does not have LVV’s support. He mentioned an agreement that had been reached with great difficulty, saying that he had been pleased and felt a sense of euphoria when he saw it, as he considered it a positive development and a source of hope for Kosovo. However, according to him, Avdullah Hoti and Kujtim Shala, whom he said he knows and respects, are conducting their internal contest within the LDK by using the current political context, which he does not consider fair. Rexhaj added that LVV also has no vote for Vlora Çitaku.

Following Albulena Haxhiu’s election as speaker with 62 votes, the Assembly of Kosovo failed to complete its constitutive process. The procedure was blocked at the stage of selecting the five deputy speakers, while the continuation of the session was postponed until today.

Arbër Rexhaj, deputet i Lëvizjes Vetëvendosje, ka thënë se refuzimi për t’i votuar nënkryetarët e Kuvendit po shërben si instrument politik.

Në emisionin Debat Plus, ai bëri të ditur se Kujtim Shala i LDK-së dhe Vlora Çitaku e PDK-së nuk mund të llogarisin në votat e LVV-së për pozitat e nënkryetarëve.

Rexhaj deklaroi se mosvotimi i tyre është një mjet politik dhe se Shala nuk e ka mbështetjen e LVV-së. Ai përmendi një marrëveshje të arritur me shumë vështirësi, duke treguar se ishte gëzuar dhe kishte ndier një lloj euforie kur e kishte parë, pasi e konsideronte një zhvillim të mirë dhe një shpresë për Kosovën. Megjithatë, sipas tij, Avdullah Hoti dhe Kujtim Shala, të cilët tha se i njeh dhe i respekton, po e zhvillojnë garën brenda LDK-së duke përdorur kontekstin aktual politik, gjë që ai nuk e vlerëson të drejtë. Rexhaj shtoi se LVV-ja nuk ka votë as për Vlora Çitakun.

Pas zgjedhjes së Albulena Haxhiut kryetare me 62 vota, Kuvendi i Kosovës nuk arriti ta përmbyllte procesin e konstituimit. Procedura u bllokua në fazën e përzgjedhjes së pesë nënkryetarëve, ndërsa vazhdimi i seancës u shty për sot.
