Kosovo Assembly member Dimal Basha said that the demand to elect only the Assembly speaker, without also reaching a solution for the post of president, indicates an intention to steer the country toward new elections.

According to him, Prime Minister Kurti is seeking a different approach, having invited the opposition to agree on all positions.

Basha stressed that those insisting on constituting the Assembly and electing its speaker, while refusing to commit to an agreement concerning the president, are in fact seeking elections.

“Anyone who insists on this position is showing that they want to send us to elections. We are saying the opposite: let us reach an agreement on all positions,” Basha said.
