A horrific incident has shaken Mexico, where a well-known musician, his pregnant wife, their 3-year-old daughter and the family’s nanny were found murdered in an apartment near Mexico City.

Among the victims was 38-year-old Jonathan Meléndez, keyboardist for the renowned indie rock band Camilo Séptimo. His wife, 35-year-old Ana Paula, was four months pregnant. The 21-year-old nanny, Aleida Romero Victorio, who worked for the family, was also killed.

According to Mexican authorities, three of the victims, including the 3-year-old girl, were shot in the head, while another was shot in the back.

Two of the victims were found with their hands tied. The family’s dog was also found dead, with its legs tied. A 6-year-old boy was found alive in the apartment and had not suffered any injuries.

Authorities suspect the killings took place on Tuesday, sometime between 5:30 p.m. and 7:40 p.m.

One day after the incident, authorities arrested two men suspected of involvement in the multiple homicide. One of them, identified as Diego Sebastián “N,” is suspected of being the possible perpetrator of the crime. Another, Gerardo “N,” is being investigated for his alleged involvement.

According to authorities, one of the suspects allegedly exploited his relationship with one of the victims to gain entry to the home.

Investigations are continuing to clarify the motive and the full circumstances of the incident. Meanwhile, the band Camilo Séptimo has responded to Meléndez’s death, describing him as a figure who will be remembered with love and gratitude.

A gun attack has shaken the area of Pimonte, in the province of Naples, bringing old conflicts between Camorra clans back into focus.

Raffaele Afeltra, 69, known as a historic figure in the Camorra and a member of the Afeltra-Di Martino faction in Pimonte, was shot dead.

Afeltra was found lifeless inside his car, near a plot of land in the mountainous area of Monti Lattari.

According to the preliminary reconstruction of the incident, the victim is suspected of having been attacked by unidentified individuals who fired several shots from a 12-gauge shotgun. The gunfire proved fatal for the 69-year-old.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances of the attack and identify those responsible, while authorities are also investigating the motive behind the killing.

He had been free for three years

The incident is believed to have occurred on land owned by Afeltra, in the Monti Lattari area.

Known by the nickname “O’ Burraccione,” Afeltra had been free after a period in prison. In 2019, he surrendered to the Italian authorities after a brief period on the run and later served a final sentence for extortion as part of Camorra activities.

He had been free again for around three years.

Investigators are now examining his criminal past, contacts and possible conflicts with rival groups in an effort to solve the murder and determine whether the attack was linked to old clashes between clans.

According to police, the young man, identified by the initials M.M., was found dead on sun loungers at a beach near a bar.

Police in Sarandë suspect that the 20-year-old became involved in a dispute over a minor matter and was then stabbed by S. V., a 29-year-old resident of Has.

Following the incident, the suspected perpetrator fled the scene. Police services have launched checks to locate and apprehend him.

A well-known Mexican influencer was shot dead while livestreaming on social media near a restaurant in the city of Culiacan, northwestern Mexico.

The victim was Cesar Gastelum, who had nearly 600,000 followers on TikTok and was known for his humorous videos.

According to local media, Gastelum was outside a fast-food restaurant with his friends when two people wearing helmets and riding a motorcycle approached the group.

Footage from the livestream shows the moment the motorcycle rider pulls out a gun and shoots the influencer several times at very close range, killing him at the scene.

A dispute in Vescovato, a town in the province of Cremona, ended with the death of 24-year-old Albanian N. Dalipaj. The young man was attacked with a knife on Sunday evening in the Viale Italia area, sustaining several wounds to the neck.

Following the incident, he was rushed to hospital in critical condition, but doctors were unable to save him. Mattia Miraglia, 32, a Vescovato resident with no criminal record, has been detained in connection with the incident.

More than 80% of the ethnic Albanian victims killed during the most recent war in Kosovo were civilians. Atdhe Hetemi, director of the Institute for Crimes Committed During the War, disclosed the figure in an interview with RTK Prime following the launch of the Institute’s Report on Crimes Committed During the War in Kosovo.

Hetemi specified that more than 80% of the victims from the Albanian community were civilians killed in the war. Meanwhile, according to him, more than 52.4% of those killed, missing or dead as a result of the war were armed or had been identified as members of the armed forces.

To document war crimes, the Institute obtained materials from more than 15 different countries around the world. Hetemi said the materials comprise hundreds of linear meters of archival records and more than 21 terabytes of data, collected with the aim of verifying every victim.

According to him, support from international institutions and organizations constituted the second archival pillar. The process of collecting materials covered three categories: people who were killed, those forcibly disappeared and people who died as a result of the war.

Hetemi described the list as preliminary, stressing that the Institute remains open to receiving other cases so that the country’s historical archive can be further enriched.

He explained that the difference lies in the methodology and the basic criteria used to determine which people are included on the list. The four criteria cover people who were born or resided in Kosovo during the war; those who suffered fatal injuries or disappeared under circumstances directly related to the war; people who died from injuries sustained during the war; and, based on documentation, people connected to the most recent war in Kosovo.

In the gender breakdown, Hetemi said that 11,415 victims, or 86.3% of those killed, were male, while 1,811 women were also killed. According to him, an analysis of these data shows that the consequences of the war were not limited to men alone.

The report shows that people of working age were the hardest hit during the war. Hetemi said that 57.5% of the victims belonged to the 18-to-50 age group.

He added that 14.7% of the victims were over the age of 65, while more than 1,240 were between the ages of 0 and 17.

Today’s presentation announced that the report had documented a total of 12,230 war victims for the period from January 1998 to June 20, 1999. It also recorded 1,247 children between the ages of 0 and 17 who were killed, while another 94 died because of wartime conditions. The fate and whereabouts of 100 forcibly disappeared children remain unknown.
