A 10-year-old tourist nearly drowned while swimming in the Uji i Zi river in the town of Këlcyrë.

Preliminary reports indicate that the river’s strong current began pulling the child away, but the intervention of a local resident prevented a tragedy.

The girl was pulled from the water and escaped without suffering any health consequences.
