Law professor Kadri Kryeziu has commented on developments surrounding the presidential election process, following opposition from six LDK MPs to voting for Bekim Sejdiu.

According to Kryeziu, the agreement reached between the Vetëvendosje Movement and the LDK on Bekim Sejdiu’s candidacy can no longer be implemented, as the necessary votes to elect him cannot be secured.

“I think the agreement between LVV and the LDK on Bekim Sejdiu has come to an end because there are not enough votes. Therefore, this issue is closed. I feel sorry for Bekim,” Kryeziu said.

He also criticized the way political parties are handling the situation, emphasizing the need for responsibility and cooperation among institutions.

“As an intellectual elite, we have an obligation to seek solutions and help political actors, since we are facing an unresolved situation. The people are good, as are the state bodies, the army, the police, the AKI and others, but the parties are not acting properly. Things are not done this way. They are not serious—parties with which it is unclear what can be discussed. These issues also require seriousness, and the state is not something to joke about,” he said.

While commenting on the situation, the law professor also spoke about the kind of figure the country’s president should be.

“The president should be an intellectual, and as soon as he takes office, he has powers,” Kryeziu said.

He directed his most pointed criticism at the LDK and its leadership.

“The LDK is not serious at all. How can a party make an agreement without coordinating internally with its MPs, who are the main factor in electing the president? As far as I know, Lumir Abdixhiku is a professor and should resign immediately, leaving the leadership of the party. This is not how things are done. A party must have leadership, while the MPs should have been convinced and consulted beforehand,” Kryeziu said.

His views were made public at a time when the presidential election process is encountering obstacles within the LDK, making it difficult to secure the votes needed for the proposed candidate.

Profesori i drejtësisë, Kadri Kryeziu, ka reaguar për zhvillimet lidhur me procesin e zgjedhjes së presidentit, pas kundërshtimit të gjashtë deputetëve të LDK-së ndaj votimit të Bekim Sejdiut.

Sipas Kryeziut, marrëveshja e arritur mes Lëvizjes Vetëvendosje dhe LDK-së për kandidaturën e Bekim Sejdiut nuk mund të zbatohet më, pasi nuk sigurohen votat e nevojshme për zgjedhjen e tij.

“Mendoj se marrëveshja ndërmjet LVV-së dhe LDK-së për Bekim Sejdiun ka përfunduar, sepse nuk ka vota të mjaftueshme. Prandaj, kjo çështje është e mbyllur. Më vjen keq për Bekimin”, ka deklaruar Kryeziu.

Ai ka shprehur kritika edhe ndaj mënyrës se si partitë politike po e trajtojnë këtë situatë, duke nënvizuar nevojën për përgjegjshmëri dhe bashkëpunim mes institucioneve.

“Ne, si elitë intelektuale, e kemi obligim të kërkojmë zgjidhje dhe t’i ndihmojmë aktorët politikë, pasi ndodhemi përballë një situate të pazgjidhur. Populli është i mirë, po ashtu edhe organet e shtetit, ushtria, policia, AKI-ja e të tjera, por partitë nuk janë në rregull. Nuk veprohet në këtë mënyrë. Janë jo serioze, pra parti për të cilat nuk dihet se çfarë mund të bisedohet. Edhe këto tema kërkojnë seriozitet dhe me shtetin nuk bëhet shaka”, është shprehur ai.

Gjatë komentimit të situatës, profesori i drejtësisë ka folur edhe për figurën që duhet të përfaqësojë presidenti i vendit.

“Presidenti duhet të jetë një intelektual dhe, sapo merr detyrën, ai ka kompetenca”, ka thënë Kryeziu.

Kritikat më të drejtpërdrejta ai i ka adresuar ndaj LDK-së dhe drejtimit të saj.

“LDK-ja nuk është aspak serioze. Si mundet një parti të lidhë marrëveshje pa u koordinuar brenda saj me deputetët, të cilët janë faktori kryesor për zgjedhjen e presidentit? Me sa di unë, Lumir Abdixhiku është profesor dhe duhet të japë dorëheqje menjëherë, duke e lënë drejtimin e partisë. Kështu nuk bëhet. Një parti duhet të ketë lidership, ndërsa deputetët duhej të bindeshin dhe të konsultoheshin paraprakisht”, ka deklaruar Kryeziu.

Qëndrimet e tij janë bërë publike në një periudhë kur procesi i zgjedhjes së presidentit po has pengesa brenda LDK-së, çka ka vështirësuar sigurimin e votave të nevojshme për kandidatin e propozuar.
