U.S. Senator Joni Ernst has been honored by Acting Defense Minister Ejup Maqedonci with the Distinguished Service Medal. The decoration was awarded for her contribution to strengthening relations between Kosovo and the United States of America, as well as for her support for the Ministry of Defense and the Kosovo Security Force (KSF).

On Tuesday, Maqedonci received Senator Ernst at the Ministry of Defense, where she was accompanied by a delegation from the Iowa National Guard led by General Stephen Osborn.

Maqedonci said he had the honor of presenting the medal to Senator Ernst in recognition of the valuable contribution she has made over the years to strengthening Kosovo–U.S. relations and for her unwavering support for the Ministry of Defense and the KSF.

According to him, the meeting addressed the partnership between Kosovo and the United States, while opportunities to expand cooperation in the defense and security sectors were also explored.

The acting minister stated that relations with the U.S. and the special cooperation with the Iowa National Guard have been and continue to remain among the most important foundations for the professional and institutional development of the KSF, as well as for enhancing Kosovo’s defense capabilities.

He added that Kosovo values the support of friends who have helped strengthen the state and its security.

In conclusion, Maqedonci emphasized that friendship and partnership with the United States of America remain irreplaceable for Kosovo.

Senatorja amerikane Joni Ernst është nderuar nga ministri në detyrë i Mbrojtjes, Ejup Maqedonci, me Medaljen për Shërbim të Shquar. Dekorata iu nda për kontributin e saj në fuqizimin e raporteve mes Kosovës dhe Shteteve të Bashkuara të Amerikës, si dhe për përkrahjen e dhënë ndaj Ministrisë së Mbrojtjes dhe Forcës së Sigurisë së Kosovës (FSK).

Të martën, Maqedonci e priti senatoren Ernst në Ministrinë e Mbrojtjes, ku ajo shoqërohej nga delegacioni i Gardës Kombëtare të Iowa-s, i udhëhequr nga gjenerali Stephen Osborn.

Maqedonci bëri të ditur se pati nderin t’ia ndante këtë medalje senatores Ernst në shenjë vlerësimi për kontributin e çmuar që ajo ka dhënë ndër vite në forcimin e marrëdhënieve Kosovë–SHBA dhe për mbështetjen e pandërprerë ndaj Ministrisë së Mbrojtjes dhe FSK-së.

Sipas tij, në takim u trajtua partneriteti mes Kosovës dhe Shteteve të Bashkuara, ndërsa u shqyrtuan edhe mundësitë për zgjerimin e bashkëpunimit në sektorët e mbrojtjes dhe sigurisë.

Ministri në detyrë deklaroi se raportet me SHBA-në dhe bashkëpunimi i posaçëm me Gardën Kombëtare të Iowa-s kanë qenë dhe vazhdojnë të mbeten ndër bazat më të rëndësishme për zhvillimin profesional e institucional të FSK-së, si dhe për rritjen e kapaciteteve mbrojtëse të Kosovës.

Ai shtoi se Kosova çmon përkrahjen e miqve që kanë ndihmuar në fuqizimin e shtetit dhe të sigurisë.

Në përfundim, Maqedonci theksoi se miqësia dhe partneriteti me Shtetet e Bashkuara të Amerikës mbeten të pazëvendësueshme për Kosovën.
