The visit of U.S. Senator Joni Ernst to Kosovo served to provide a clearer picture of the current political and security developments in the country, the U.S. Embassy in Pristina announced.

During her stay, Ernst met with representatives of Kosovo’s institutions. She greeted U.S. troops from Iowa at Camp Film City in Pristina, visited Camp Bondsteel, and held meetings with members of the KFOR Regional Command East and the Area Support Group-Balkans.

Through its announcement, the U.S. Embassy highlighted the importance of the senator’s engagements during her visit to Kosovo.

U.S. Senator Joni Ernst has been honored by Acting Defense Minister Ejup Maqedonci with the Distinguished Service Medal. The decoration was awarded for her contribution to strengthening relations between Kosovo and the United States of America, as well as for her support for the Ministry of Defense and the Kosovo Security Force (KSF).

On Tuesday, Maqedonci received Senator Ernst at the Ministry of Defense, where she was accompanied by a delegation from the Iowa National Guard led by General Stephen Osborn.

Maqedonci said he had the honor of presenting the medal to Senator Ernst in recognition of the valuable contribution she has made over the years to strengthening Kosovo–U.S. relations and for her unwavering support for the Ministry of Defense and the KSF.

According to him, the meeting addressed the partnership between Kosovo and the United States, while opportunities to expand cooperation in the defense and security sectors were also explored.

The acting minister stated that relations with the U.S. and the special cooperation with the Iowa National Guard have been and continue to remain among the most important foundations for the professional and institutional development of the KSF, as well as for enhancing Kosovo’s defense capabilities.

He added that Kosovo values the support of friends who have helped strengthen the state and its security.

In conclusion, Maqedonci emphasized that friendship and partnership with the United States of America remain irreplaceable for Kosovo.

Ai shtoi se Kosova çmon përkrahjen e miqve që kanë ndihmuar në fuqizimin e shtetit dhe të sigurisë.

Në përfundim, Maqedonci theksoi se miqësia dhe partneriteti me Shtetet e Bashkuara të Amerikës mbeten të pazëvendësueshme për Kosovën.
