Ismet Beqiri, a member of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), expects the party to emerge stronger after the Extraordinary Assembly, while emphasizing that delegates will decide by vote whether the current chairman will be dismissed.

He assessed that the Assembly is expected to proceed well, explaining that the LDK Statute defines the ways of convening it and that securing one-third of the votes constitutes one of them. According to Beqiri, the meeting was called due to dissatisfaction with the current situation, while the goal is for the LDK to come out of it stronger.

Beqiri described the LDK’s latest election result as unsatisfactory.

According to him, the LDK ranking in second or third place constitutes an insult to the party, so everything will be done to change this situation.

Asked about the possibility of dismissing the current chairman, he replied that the final decision will be made by the delegates’ vote.

Beqiri added that the Assembly is not focused on the name of the person who might succeed the current chairman.

He said he does not know what the outcome will be, as the vote will determine it. Beqiri recalled that he has made his stance public and expressed his conviction that the LDK needs changes to move forward and secure better results.

Ismet Beqiri, anëtar i Lidhjes Demokratike të Kosovës (LDK), pret që partia të dalë më e fuqishme pas Kuvendit të Jashtëzakonshëm, ndërsa theksoi se delegatët do të vendosin përmes votës nëse kryetari aktual do të shkarkohet.

Ai vlerësoi se Kuvendi pritet të zhvillohet mirë, duke shpjeguar se Statuti i LDK-së përcakton mënyrat e thirrjes së tij dhe se sigurimi i një të tretës së votave përbën njërën prej tyre. Sipas Beqirit, mbledhja është thirrur për shkak të pakënaqësive me situatën aktuale, ndërsa synimi është që LDK-ja të dalë më e fortë prej saj.

Beqiri e cilësoi të pakënaqshëm rezultatin e fundit zgjedhor të LDK-së.

Sipas tij, renditja e LDK-së në vendin e dytë apo të tretë përbën fyerje për partinë, ndaj do të bëhet gjithçka për ta ndryshuar këtë gjendje.

I pyetur për mundësinë e shkarkimit të kryetarit aktual, ai u përgjigj se vendimin përfundimtar do ta japë vota e delegatëve.

Beqiri shtoi se Kuvendi nuk është përqendruar te emri i personit që mund ta pasojë kryetarin aktual.

Ai tha se nuk e di cili do të jetë rezultati, pasi këtë do ta përcaktojë votimi. Beqiri rikujtoi se qëndrimin e tij e ka bërë publik dhe u shpreh i bindur se LDK-së i duhen ndryshime për të ecur përpara dhe për të siguruar rezultate më të mira.
