Police have identified three people suspected of carrying out a violent attack on two young men in Gostivar, an incident made public through a video posted on social media.

According to police, the suspects are two minors from Gostivar and V.D. (20) from Skopje.

The two minors were summoned to the police station for an official interview, while their travel documents were confiscated by order of the public prosecutor. Regarding the third suspect, police said that an official notice had been sent to the Skopje Police Department for further proceedings.

Once the case has been fully documented, expedited court proceedings will be initiated against all three individuals, the authorities said.

According to official information, the attack occurred in the early hours of August 2 on “Borçe Jovanoski” Street. The two young men were struck with hard objects and wooden sticks.

The Interior Ministry has declared two more foreign nationals “non grata” over suspected activities against the Albanian state.

According to highly reliable sources who spoke to Top Channel journalist Anila Hoxha, the two individuals declared undesirable are citizens of North Macedonia, and there is information indicating that they engaged in activities detrimental to the Albanian state.

Sources told Anila Hoxha that the decision was taken following a proposal by the State Police Anti-Terrorism Unit and subsequently approved by the Interior Ministry, which declared Valon Beljan, also known as Valjon Bela, and Bekir Halimi, both citizens of North Macedonia, “non grata.”

Several weeks ago, the Interior Ministry also decided to declare Ikballe Huduti “non grata,” banning her from entering the country for 15 years.

The Ministry of the Interior announced that three citizens from Skopje were arrested in flagrante delicto, suspected of attempting to obtain a bank loan by presenting forged documents.

The operation took place on July 29 by officers of the Skopje Police Department, specifically the Unit for Economic Crime and Computer Crime. The detainees are I.T. (45 years old), S.T. (21 years old) and P.P. (29 years old), who are accused of committing two criminal offenses: “document forgery” and “misuse of personal data”.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the main suspect, I.T., together with the other two, appeared at a bank in the capital to apply for a sum of 900,000 denars. To finalize this illegal operation, he had in hand a forged identity card with the data of another person, along with a credit file that was also fake.

Their arrest was carried out at the moment when bank employees were verifying the suspicious documentation.

Following detention and in cooperation with the public prosecutor on duty, the three individuals were brought before the pre-trial judge to be informed of the security measures.

A two-year-old child from Kumanovo was poisoned by paint thinner and, after receiving first aid, was transferred to Skopje for further treatment.

The case was reported yesterday at around 14:00 to the Kumanovo Police Department by Kumanovo General Hospital, where the child had been taken following the poisoning.

According to the Interior Ministry, the child was transferred from the Clinical Center to the “Mother Teresa” Clinic Complex in Skopje. Meanwhile, police have launched an investigation to clarify the circumstances of the incident.

A 29-year-old man from Gevgelija was detained last night after he was found driving far above the speed limit on the A1 motorway. The Ministry of Internal Affairs said the incident occurred at around 21:26 near the Smokvica interchange, close to Gevgelija.

During a routine radar check, police officers from the Strumica Sector for Internal Affairs – Gevgelija Police Department recorded a locally registered BMW traveling at 204 kilometers per hour. The posted speed limit on that section of the road is 120 kilometers per hour.

The driver, identified as Zh.D., was immediately stopped and removed from traffic. After confirming the violation, the authorities notified the public prosecutor from the Gevgelija Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, once the investigation has been completed and the case fully documented, criminal charges will be filed against him under Article 297-a of the Criminal Code, which covers “reckless driving of a motor vehicle.”

The Criminal Police Unit of the Ohrid Internal Affairs Department detained three people from Prilep on July 26, 2026: B.R. (30), G.J. (32) and S.N. (33), the Interior Ministry announced.

B.R. was detained at 1:20 a.m. during a concert at the Biljanini Izvori sports center in Ohrid. During a search, officers found and seized marijuana and a white powdery substance.

Later, acting on a court order, police searched the apartment that B.R. was using together with G.J. and S.N. Marijuana, several tablets, grinders containing marijuana residue, a glass container with mushrooms and other items suspected of originating from a criminal offense were found and seized there.

According to the statement, all three are being held at the police station. After the case has been fully investigated and documented, the appropriate charges will be filed against them.

North Macedonia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that on July 26, 2026, officers from the Illicit Trafficking Unit, together with officers from the Intervention Police Unit at the Skopje Sector for Internal Affairs, searched the home and auxiliary premises of S.B. (23), a resident of the village of Brest near Skopje.

According to the ministry, a significant quantity of cocaine was discovered and seized during the raid.

S.B. was arrested and taken to Gazi Baba Police Station under Article 215 of the Criminal Code. The ministry said that the appropriate charges would be filed against him once the case has been fully documented.

A government delegation visited Gostivar today to coordinate the actions of institutions and the measures being taken to address the situation caused by contamination of the municipal water supply system, the Interior Ministry announced.

The delegation included Interior Minister Pançe Toshkovski, Minister of Environment and Physical Planning Muamet Hoxha, Health Minister Sasho Klekovski, Director of the Service for General and Common Affairs Ivica Tomovski, and government spokesperson Marija Miteva.

According to Toshkovski, immediately following a recommendation by the Assessment Group, the government decided to declare a state of crisis in the Municipality of Gostivar. The decision is intended to activate all available state mechanisms and mobilize professional resources so that the situation can be normalized as quickly as possible.

“Since our main objective is to restore the situation to normal as quickly as possible and ensure safe water for residents, the state has mobilized all available resources. Professional teams are already on the ground, conducting a detailed analysis of the water supply system and taking samples at several locations. We will not draw premature conclusions; every action will be based solely on expert analyses and recommendations,” Toshkovski said.

The minister urged residents to continue following the guidelines of the Food and Veterinary Agency and the health authorities until all analyses have been completed and the responsible institutions have confirmed that the water is safe.

“We will not speculate or determine in advance when the water can be used again. As soon as the experts complete their analyses and confirm that all conditions for safe use have been met, residents will be notified promptly. At this stage, the most important thing is to follow the recommendations of the relevant institutions so that this situation can be resolved as quickly and safely as possible,” Toshkovski said.

Speaking about the procedure to determine responsibility, Toshkovski said the Interior Ministry was working in full coordination with the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

“The Interior Ministry is continuing to collect and secure evidence intensively, while the Public Prosecutor’s Office is leading the proceedings in accordance with its powers established by law. Without exception, anyone found to bear responsibility will be dealt with in accordance with the law,” Minister Toshkovski emphasized./Telegrafi/

A cyclist has died in a traffic accident on the Kočani-Gratče Dam local road, the Interior Ministry reported.

The incident was reported to the Kočani Police Department on July 20, 2026, at around 3:30 p.m. The accident involved a Škoda vehicle with Kočani license plates, driven by I.B. (51) from Kočani, and a bicycle ridden by D.Gj. (65), also from Kočani.

The cyclist died at the scene from his injuries, with a doctor from the Kočani Emergency Medical Service pronouncing him dead.

At the order of the public prosecutor, the deceased’s body was sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy.
