Former Prime Minister of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, today remembered July 22, the date when the International Court of Justice assessed that Kosovo’s declaration of independence was in accordance with international law norms.

In a Facebook message, he described this decision as one of the key moments in the journey of state-building and consolidation of Kosovo’s statehood.

Haradinaj stressed that the International Court of Justice, on July 22, 2010, confirmed that the independence declared on February 17, 2008 was in compliance with international law, thus giving the final seal to our statehood, a right won through the liberation war and which marked an important step towards the affirmation of our sovereign state.

He stressed that Kosovo must move forward on its Euro-Atlantic path, strengthening partnership with international allies, especially the United States of America.

According to Haradinaj, only by embracing Western values and deepening relations with the USA can Kosovo achieve its strategic objectives as a sovereign state.
