The Social Democrats underline that the presence of the foam, which appears synthetic, constitutes concrete proof of contamination of the aquatic environment.

“First we had polluted water in Gostivar, Valandovo, Leshkë, Krushevë and Pllasnicë. Even in hospital facilities the water was not safe for consumption. Now a white foaming mass is flowing along the Lepenec in Skopje. Its appearance suggests it is a synthetic substance. An undeniable fact of pollution that pours unimpeded into the river, right at the point where the Lepenec joins the Vardar. This situation can no longer be described simply as an isolated incident. We are dealing with a deep systemic collapse of institutions, which operate under the leadership of Hristijan Mickoski. While they are busy with pool inaugurations, minister reshuffles and talk of ‘disinformation’, the riverbeds are filling with foam and citizens are banned from drinking tap water,” expressed the LSDM’s stance.

Speaking to reporters, Prime Minister of the Republic of North Macedonia Hristijan Mickoski responded to opposition accusations over a lack of results in the agricultural sector. He said the indicators point to significant progress and the gradual overcoming of the difficult situation inherited from previous governments.

According to Mickoski, the previous government had left unpaid wages at the “Water Supply” company, deteriorated reservoirs, serious difficulties in supplying farmers with water, outstanding obligations to farmers, and delays in direct payments for 2020–2021. He said the settlement of these obligations is nearing completion, while the remaining payments to farmers and livestock breeders will also be made through the budget revision.

The head of government announced that the application cycle for 2026 subsidies has already begun. He stressed that more than 15 billion denars in direct subsidies have been distributed to farmers over the past two years.

Mickoski also stated that agricultural production has increased, while the trade deficit in the import and export of agricultural products has narrowed.

In his assessment, these results were achieved despite what he described as a “catastrophe inherited” from the previous SDSM and DUI government, as well as from the Left party, which is currently part of the opposition coalition.

He added that the opposition would continue to obstruct the government’s work, but emphasized that the executive would remain focused on its established priorities and policies.

Sipas Mickoskit, pushteti paraprak kishte lënë paga të papaguara në ndërmarrjen “Ujësjellësi”, akumulime të degraduara, vështirësi serioze në furnizimin e bujqve me ujë, detyrime të pashlyera ndaj fermerëve dhe vonesa në pagesat e drejtpërdrejta për vitet 2020–2021. Ai tha se shlyerja e këtyre obligimeve është pranë përfundimit, ndërsa përmes ribalancit do të realizohen edhe pagesat e mbetura për bujqit dhe blegtorët.

Kreu i Qeverisë bëri të ditur se tashmë ka nisur cikli i aplikimeve për subvencionet e vitit 2026. Ai theksoi se, brenda dy viteve të fundit, bujqve u janë shpërndarë mbi 15 miliardë denarë në formën e subvencioneve të drejtpërdrejta.

Mickoski pohoi gjithashtu se është shënuar rritje e prodhimit bujqësor, ndërkohë që është zvogëluar deficiti tregtar në importin dhe eksportin e produkteve bujqësore.

Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski announced that the executive is preparing new interventions to cope with the relentless rise in fuel prices.

Currently, according to him, it is being assessed whether the measures will be targeted or universal, as in previous periods.

One alternative on the government’s table is also the reduction of the Value Added Tax for fuels. Mickoski stressed that after the declaration of a state of emergency nationwide, the institutions have the legal basis to act in this direction.

“We are monitoring the situation. As a government, we have already taken the first step by reducing part of the excise duty on petrol and diesel, but unfortunately, global markets continue to register price increases. Today we are again approaching the symbolic threshold of 100 dollars per barrel, while military tensions in the Persian Gulf are intensifying,” Mickoski stated.

He added that the government is examining the nature of the intervention, underscoring that the well-being of citizens remains a top priority.

Asked about the possibility of reducing VAT on fuel derivatives, Mickoski confirmed that this path is also being considered, although it is not the most preferred option due to its effect on the state budget.

“Yes, this is also part of the scenarios we are evaluating. It may be the least desirable alternative, as it directly affects budget revenues, but for us the primary interest is the standard of living of the population. When the situation requires it, as an executive we are determined to stand by the citizens,” Mickoski concluded.

He explained that local authorities will set up special assessment teams to analyze the consequences.

Mickoski invited citizens to report losses to these commissions, which will then send the findings to the Damage Assessment Committee. According to him, this committee will forward the information to the Government, and the executive will intervene by implementing the legal framework to compensate each person who has reported damage.

“I call on all those affected to report the damages, so that the commission can go to the field, record them, and the Government can receive a detailed list, to enable compensation,” Mickoski stressed.

After the inauguration of the reconstructed traumatology ward at the University Clinic for Surgical Diseases “St. Naum of Ohrid” in Skopje, Mickoski told journalists that negotiations with the landowner are underway, while another alternative in the surrounding area is also being evaluated.

“Yes, we are in dialogue. We are holding talks with the landowner and are also considering a second option near that parcel. We never leave things to just one variant. I expect that within this space we will manage to finalize the process and then draw up a clear plan to finally start that healthcare investment,” Mickoski stated.

Asked about a concrete timeline, the head of government stressed that this process should be completed during the summer period. “Let summer be the final moment,” he said.

The area the Government is considering for the construction of the new clinical complex is located next to the “Boris Trajkovski” sports center and swimming pool in Karposh, in a position adjacent to the “8 Shtatori” General Hospital, the TEP Center, and the “Bukuresht” polyclinic.

According to reports so far, the land is privately owned and the parties are in talks to secure it. The project envisions the new clinical center as part of an integrated healthcare complex, which would be connected to the “8 Shtatori” General Hospital via an underground corridor.

Earlier, Prime Minister Mickoski had emphasized that this location offers easy circulation and favorable infrastructure conditions. He also added that if procedures go smoothly, the first steps for implementing the project could be taken in 2027.

Kryeministri Hristijan Mickoski pret që deri në përfundim të sezonit veror të mbyllet faza e përzgjedhjes së lokacionit për qendrën e re klinike, duke i hapur rrugë më pas nisjes së përgatitjeve për këtë investim madhor në sektorin e shëndetësisë.

Pas inaugurimit të Repartit të rikonstruktuar të traumatologjisë pranë ISHP Klinika universitare për sëmundje kirurgjike “Shën Naumi i Ohrit” në Shkup, Mickoski u shpreh para gazetarëve se negociatat me pronarin e truallit janë duke u zhvilluar, ndërsa paralelisht po vlerësohet edhe një alternativë tjetër në zonën përreth.

“Po, jemi në dialog. Po zhvillojmë bisedime me pronarin e tokës dhe kemi në konsideratë edhe një opsion të dytë në afërsi të asaj parcele. Asnjëherë nuk i lemë gjërat në një variant të vetëm. Pres që brenda kësaj hapësire të arrijmë ta finalizojmë procesin dhe më pas të hartojmë një plan të qartë për të nisur më në fund atë investim shëndetësor”, deklaroi Mickoski.

I pyetur për një afat kohor konkret, shefi i qeverisë theksoi se ky proces duhet të përmbyllet gjatë periudhës së verës. “Le të jetë vera momenti i fundit”, u shpreh ai.

Zona që Qeveria po shqyrton për ngritjen e kompleksit të ri klinik ndodhet përkrah qendrës sportive dhe pishinës “Boris Trajkovski” në Karposh, në një pozicion fqinj me SPQ “8 Shtatori”, Qendrën TEP dhe poliklinikën “Bukuresht”.

Sipas njoftimeve të deritanishme, toka është pronë private dhe palët janë në fazën e bisedimeve për sigurimin e saj. Projekti parashikon që qendra e re klinike të jetë element i një kompleksi shëndetësor të integruar, i cili përmes një korridori nëntokësor do të lidhej me SPQ “8 Shtatori”.

Më herët, kryeministri Mickoski kishte theksuar se ky vend ofron qarkullim të lehtë dhe kushte të favorshme infrastrukturore. Ai gjithashtu shtoi se nëse procedurat ecin pa pengesa, hapat e parë për zbatimin e projektit mund të ndërmerren në vitin 2027.
