The photographs focus on the years 1988–1989, the civic demonstrations, the miners’ strikes, and a people who, according to Speaker Haxhiu, even when their institutional voice was taken away, knew how to express themselves with persistence, revolt, and dignity.

One of the most important parts of the exhibition is the historic Trepça miners’ strike. According to the Speaker of the Assembly, those men, deep underground, raised high the conscience of an entire country, becoming the voice of Kosovo in the days when freedom demanded courage, sacrifice, and resilience.

“This exhibition is evidence and documentation of the resistance and sacrifice of many generations in Kosovo’s journey toward freedom and state-building. Hazir Reka’s photographs serve as a valuable archive of our collective memory, reminding us of the importance of preserving history and honoring those who contributed in the decisive moments of our country,” Speaker Haxhiu emphasized.

Fotot sjellin në fokus vitet 1988–1989, demonstratat qytetare, grevat e minatorëve dhe një popull që, sipas kryetares Haxhiu, edhe kur i merrej zëri institucional, dinte të shprehej me këmbëngulje, me revoltë dhe me dinjitet.

Një nga pikat më të rëndësishme të ekspozitës është greva historike e minatorëve të Trepçës. Sipas kryetares së Kuvendit, ata burra, në thellësi të nëntokës, e ngritën lart ndërgjegjen e një vendi të tërë, duke u kthyer në zërin e Kosovës në ditët kur liria kërkonte guxim, sakrificë dhe qëndresë.

“Kjo ekspozitë është dëshmi dhe dokumentim i qëndresës dhe sakrificës së shumë brezave në rrugëtimin e Kosovës drejt lirisë dhe shtetndërtimit. Fotografitë nga Hazir Reka shërbejnë si një arkiv i çmuar i kujtesës sonë kolektive, duke na kujtuar rëndësinë e ruajtjes së historisë dhe nderimit të atyre që kontribuan në momentet vendimtare të vendit tonë”, theksoi kryetarja Haxhiu.
