Tonight, the Collective for Feminist Thought and Action created graffiti in the capital, reacting to the loss of a worker’s life at a worksite in Pristina.

In their statement, they expressed that with pain and indignation they witnessed another tragic event of a harsh and murderous capitalism, which caused another victim from construction sites, leaving others injured.

“The construction mafia has long been building structures on the blood of workers, while the state becomes an accomplice in strengthening power and the criminal oppression of the working class. In a state that least of all belongs to workers, for mafia capitalists people are a sacrifice for profit, sacrificed to feed their greed for gain and accumulation. Underpaid, mistreated, and forced to work even in scorching temperatures, construction workers live on the edge of survival. All this happens while state institutions are sometimes sold, sometimes indifferent to the fate of the entire working class,” the reaction states.

It further emphasizes that today’s reality as workers is experienced through multiple oppressions stemming from the capital-state partnership, as we hear about tragedies around us and the power constantly tries to distract us from collective misery by declaring fictitious enemies. The material conditions that push many of us toward inhumane working relationships and the edges of existence are the common denominator of our collective condition, the reaction adds.

“Therefore, tonight we reaffirm that we must mobilize to take our fate into our own hands and oppose any power that subdues us through disregard and violence, killing some of us and leaving others exhausted and oppressed. Our organization must be one that protects life and dignity in the face of the capitalist class,” concludes the statement of the Collective for Feminist Thought and Action.

Through a statement, the group expressed that it followed with indignation and deep sadness the latest fatal scene of ruthless and deadly capitalism, which added another victim from construction sites and injured several other workers.

“For a long time, the construction mafia has been building objects on the bloody backs of workers, while the state becomes a partner in empowering power and in the brutal oppression of the working class. In a country that above all should belong to the workers, for the mafia capitalists, the sacrifice for profit are human beings, who are sacrificed to satisfy their greed for money and accumulation. Poorly paid, treated inhumanely and forced to work even in high temperatures, construction workers live on the edge of survival. All this happens while state institutions are sometimes corrupted and sometimes completely indifferent to the fate of the working class,” the reaction emphasizes.

Furthermore, the Collective highlights that we experience our reality as workers through the multifaceted oppressions that stem from the cooperation between capital and the state. While we learn about the tragedies happening around us, power constantly tries to distract us from the common poverty into which it has plunged us, by fabricating fictitious enemies. According to them, the material conditions that force many of us into inhumane work relationships and on the edges of existence are the common denominator of our collective suffering.

“Therefore, tonight we reiterate that it is imperative to mobilize to take control of our fate and to oppose any form of power that rules us with contempt and violence, killing some of us and leaving the rest exhausted and oppressed. Our organization must be an organization that protects life and dignity in the face of the capitalist class,” concludes the statement of the Collective for Feminist Thought and Action.
