“Everything I have to say, I will say in court,” Gashi said.

Asked about why the new prosecutor in the case had been mentioned only during the closing argument, Gashi disputed that assessment.

“I do not agree with that,” she said.

Meanwhile, the Basic Court in Peja decided today to reopen the judicial review in the case of the triple killing in Gllogjan, in which Halil, Kreshnik and Kastriot Mehmetaj are accused.

The decision came after the Prosecution, only in its closing argument, referred to a video recording of Kreshnik Mehmetaj firing a weapon and to ballistic evidence, which had not previously been presented and admitted during the trial process, making it impossible for the defense to challenge them.

Halil, Kastriot and Kreshnik Mehmetaj are accused of having, on November 26, 2021, out of revenge, fired a Kalashnikov at a bus in Gllogjan, where two 17-year-old students and the bus driver were killed.

At the initial hearing held on June 21, 2023, all three defendants pleaded not guilty.

Ndërkohë, Gjykata Themelore në Pejë vendosi sot që të rihapë shqyrtimin gjyqësor për rastin e vrasjes së trefishtë në Gllogjan, ku të akuzuar janë Halil, Kreshnik dhe Kastriot Mehmetaj.

Ky vendim erdhi pasi Prokuroria, vetëm në fjalën përfundimtare, iu referua një videoincizimi të Kreshnik Mehmetajt duke gjuajtur me armë dhe provave balistike, të cilat më herët nuk ishin paraqitur dhe administruar gjatë procesit gjyqësor, duke ia pamundësuar mbrojtjes kundërshtimin e tyre.

Halil, Kastriot dhe Kreshnik Mehmetaj akuzohen se më 26 nëntor 2021, me motiv hakmarrjeje, kanë shtënë me kallashnikov në drejtim të një autobusi në Gllogjan, ku u vranë dy nxënës 17-vjeçarë dhe shoferi i autobusit.

The decision was made at Friday’s hearing, although the verdict had been scheduled to be announced that day.

Arianit Koci, the lawyer for the injured family, said that the final decision had been expected today, but the court decided to reopen the process in order to examine additional evidence.

Koci: I believe the decision will be made after the next hearing

“Today we expected the decision. Nevertheless, the court assessed that one more piece of evidence must be verified, and therefore it has reopened the trial. Until now, the presiding judge has handled the proceedings very well. I, as the representative of the injured family, am satisfied and I believe that after the next hearing the decision will be made and the accused persons will be convicted,” Koci said.

Asked by reporters whether he had information about the evidence that led to the reopening of the review, Koci said it was a video.

“The court justified its decision today. It concerns a video and the prosecutor’s closing statement. In any case, we will review it and this process will also be concluded,” Koci said.

According to the prosecution’s indictment, the three defendants are suspected of organizing and carrying out the attack together, with revenge as the motive.

The indictment states that the target of the attack was the bus driver, the late Gani Gjokaj. The prosecution claims that the Mehmetaj family considered him responsible for the suicide of their daughter, Heroina Mehmetaj, and that this was the reason for the crime.

The case file describes that Halil Mehmetaj had vowed revenge against Gjokaj and that, during his daughter’s funeral, he had placed his wristwatch in her coffin.

According to the charges, before the incident the defendants had observed the area where the attack took place, choosing a location far from houses and without security cameras. The prosecution claims that they had ambushed the bus operating on the Gjakova-Gllogjan route, and that three people were killed in the attack.

The prosecution alleges that Kastriot Mehmetaj, armed with an AK-47 automatic rifle, had gone on foot to the scene. When the bus approached, he stepped into the middle of the road pretending to be drunk, with the aim of making the driver slow down or stop. According to the indictment, after the bus reduced speed, he fired at driver Gani Gjokaj, killing him, while two 17-year-old students, L.H. and G.M., were also killed in the shooting, and F.T. was seriously injured.

Furthermore, the indictment says that after the attack Kastriot Mehmetaj fled toward the village of Shaptej, where Kreshnik Mehmetaj was waiting for him in a car. The prosecution claims that, after they returned home, the weapon used in the crime was destroyed.

Halil Mehmetaj is also accused of having, from June 14, 2020 until November 26, 2021, incited Kastriot and Kreshnik Mehmetaj to kill Gani Gjokaj by continuously blaming him for the suicide of his daughter, Heroina Mehmetaj.

Gjykata Themelore në Pejë ka vendosur të rihapë shqyrtimin gjyqësor ndaj Halil, Kastriot dhe Kreshnik Mehmetaj, të akuzuar për vrasjen e trefishtë të ndodhur në Gllogjan në vitin 2021.

Ky vendim u mor në seancën e së premtes, ndonëse për atë ditë ishte paraparë shpallja e aktgjykimit.

Avokati i familjes së dëmtuar, Arianit Koci, bëri të ditur se sot pritej vendimi përfundimtar, por gjykata vendosi ta hapë sërish procesin për të administruar një provë shtesë.

Koci: Besoj se pas seancës së radhës do të merret vendimi

“Sot e kemi pritur vendimin. Sidoqoftë, gjykata ka vlerësuar se duhet të vërtetohet edhe një provë, prandaj e ka rihapur gjykimin. Deri më tash, kryetari i trupit gjykues e ka udhëhequr proceduralisht shumë mirë. Unë, si përfaqësues i familjes së dëmtuar, jam i kënaqur dhe besoj se pas seancës së radhës do të merret vendimi dhe personat e akuzuar do të dënohen”, deklaroi Koci.

I pyetur nga gazetarët nëse kishte informacion për provën që çoi në rihapjen e shqyrtimit, Koci tha se bëhet fjalë për një video.

“Gjykata e ka arsyetuar sot vendimin e vet. Bëhet fjalë për një video dhe për fjalën përfundimtare të prokurores. Sidoqoftë, do ta shqyrtojmë dhe do të përfundojë edhe ky proces”, tha Koci.

Sipas aktakuzës së Prokurorisë, tre të pandehurit dyshohet se e kanë organizuar dhe realizuar sulmin në bashkëveprim me njëri-tjetrin, me motiv hakmarrjen.

Në aktakuzë thuhet se objektiv i sulmit ishte shoferi i autobusit, tashmë i ndjeri Gani Gjokaj. Prokuroria pretendon se familja Mehmetaj e konsideronte atë përgjegjës për vetëvrasjen e vajzës së tyre, Heroina Mehmetaj, dhe se kjo ka qenë arsyeja e krimit.

Dosja e rastit përshkruan se Halil Mehmetaj ishte zotuar për hakmarrje ndaj Gjokajt dhe se, gjatë varrimit të vajzës së tij, kishte vendosur orën e dorës në arkovin e saj.

Sipas akuzës, para ngjarjes të pandehurit kishin vëzhguar zonën ku ndodhi sulmi, duke përzgjedhur një vend të largët nga shtëpitë dhe pa kamera sigurie. Prokuroria pretendon se ata i kishin zënë pritë autobusit që qarkullonte në linjën Gjakovë, Gllogjan, ndërsa nga sulmi mbetën të vrarë tre persona.

Organi i akuzës pretendon se Kastriot Mehmetaj, i armatosur me një pushkë automatike AK-47, kishte shkuar në këmbë deri në vendin e ngjarjes. Kur autobusi u afrua, ai kishte dalë në mes të rrugës duke u shtirur si i dehur, me qëllim që shoferi të ngadalësonte ose të ndalonte. Sipas aktakuzës, pasi autobusi uli shpejtësinë, ai qëlloi në drejtim të shoferit Gani Gjokaj, duke e lënë të vdekur, ndërsa nga të shtënat humbën jetën edhe dy nxënës 17 vjeçarë, L.H. dhe G.M., si dhe u plagos rëndë F.T.

Më tej, aktakuza thotë se pas sulmit Kastriot Mehmetaj ishte larguar në drejtim të fshatit Shaptej, ku e priste me veturë Kreshnik Mehmetaj. Prokuroria pretendon se, pasi ishin kthyer në shtëpi, arma e përdorur në krim ishte shkatërruar.

Po ashtu, Halil Mehmetaj akuzohet se nga 14 qershori 2020 deri më 26 nëntor 2021 kishte nxitur Kastriot dhe Kreshnik Mehmetajn për vrasjen e Gani Gjokajt, duke e fajësuar vazhdimisht atë për vetëvrasjen e vajzës së tij, Heroina Mehmetaj.

The incident caused deep shock in Kosovo, while the authorities deployed a large number of investigators to solve the case.

After several weeks of investigation, on December 5, 2021, Kosovo Police arrested Kreshnik Gashi as the main suspect in the murder.

The prosecution charged him with aggravated murder, attempted aggravated murder, and unauthorized ownership, control or possession of weapons.

According to the indictment, the bus was shot at with an automatic rifle (AK-47).

The motive for the crime was not publicly clarified and remained one of the most discussed issues in the entire case.

Gjykata Themelore në Pejë do ta shpallë sot aktgjykimin për rastin e vrasjes së trefishtë në Gllogjan, një ngjarje që e kishte tronditur vendin në vitin 2021.

Siç ka bërë të ditur gjykata, publikimi i vendimit është paraparë të nisë në ora 14:30.

Për këtë rast, në bankën e të akuzuarve ndodhen Halil Mehmetaj, Kreshnik Mehmetaj dhe Kastriot Mehmetaj, të cilët akuzohen në lidhje me vrasjen e trefishtë.

Vrasja e trefishtë në Gllogjan konsiderohet ndër ngjarjet kriminale më të rënda në Kosovë gjatë viteve të fundit.

Më 26 nëntor 2021, në fshatin Gllogjan të Deçanit, një person i armatosur qëlloi me armë zjarri drejt një autobusi që po bartte nxënës.

Nga ky sulm humbën jetën tre persona: shoferi i autobusit, Gani Gjokaj, si dhe dy nxënësit, Ledion Kadrijaj (17 vjeç) dhe Dionisi (Dionis) Lleshi (16 vjeç).

Gjatë sulmit, u plagosën edhe disa nxënës të tjerë.

Ngjarja shkaktoi tronditje të thellë në Kosovë, ndërsa autoritetet angazhuan një numër të madh hetuesish për ta ndriçuar rastin.

Pas disa javësh hetimesh, më 5 dhjetor 2021, Policia e Kosovës arrestoi Kreshnik Gashin si të dyshuarin kryesor për vrasjen.

Prokuroria ngriti ndaj tij akuza për vrasje të rëndë, vrasje të rëndë në tentativë, si dhe për mbajtje në pronësi, kontroll ose posedim të paautorizuar të armëve.

Sipas aktakuzës, ndaj autobusit ishte qëlluar me një pushkë automatike (AK-47).

Motivi i këtij krimi nuk u sqarua publikisht dhe mbeti një prej çështjeve më të diskutuara të gjithë rastit.
