On Monday, the commander of NATO’s Kosovo Force (KFOR), Major General Ozkan Ulutash, welcomed Admiral George M. Wikoff, commander of the Allied Joint Force Command Naples (JFC Naples).

According to official KFOR sources, during his stay at Camp Novo Selo, Admiral Wikoff was briefed on the current security situation in the country and on the daily efforts of the peacekeeping troops to ensure a calm and stable environment for all residents of Kosovo.

As part of the visit, he also had the opportunity to meet and talk with other members of the mission staff.

A special moment of the inspection was a reconnaissance helicopter flight along the Administrative Boundary Line (ABL). Major General Ulutash personally accompanied the admiral, providing a clear overview of KFOR’s force disposition and the regular patrolling activities conducted in that border area.

Të hënën, komandanti i Forcave të NATO-s në Kosovë (KFOR), gjeneralmajori Ozkan Ulutash, mirëpriti admiralin George M. Wikoff, komandantin e Komandës së Përbashkët Aleate në Napoli (JFC Naples).

Sipas burimeve zyrtare të KFOR-it, gjatë qëndrimit në kampin Novo Selo, admiralit Wikoff iu dhanë hollësi mbi situatën e tanishme të sigurisë në vend si dhe mbi përpjekjet e përditshme të trupave paqeruajtëse për të siguruar një ambient të qetë dhe të qëndrueshëm për të gjithë banorët e Kosovës.

Në kuadër të vizitës, ai pati rastin të takohej dhe të bisedonte edhe me pjesëtarë të tjerë të stafit të misionit.

Një moment i veçantë i inspektimit ishte një fluturim zbulues me helikopter përgjatë Vijës Kufitare Administrative (ABL). Gjeneralmajori Ulutash e shoqëroi vetë admiralin, duke i ofruar një panoramë të qartë të shpërndarjes së forcave të KFOR-it dhe të aktiviteteve të rregullta patrulluese që kryhen në atë zonë kufitare.

Wikoff, commander of NATO’s Allied Joint Force Command in Naples. He held separate meetings with acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti and the leader of AAK, Ramush Haradinaj.

The Allied Joint Force Command, headquartered in Lago Patria near Naples, is a key operational structure of NATO, responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing military missions in an area stretching from the Mediterranean to the Balkans. KFOR, the Alliance’s contingent that guarantees Kosovo’s security, also operates in this area.

In Pristina, Kurti welcomed Admiral Wikoff in his office, where KFOR commander Major General Özkan Ulutaş also participated. Through a Facebook post, he expressed gratitude for NATO’s unwavering commitment to a peaceful and safe environment for all citizens and communities. “We discussed with Admiral Wikoff the security situation and the cooperation between our institutions and NATO,” Kurti wrote, highlighting the ongoing contribution to sustainable peace and long-term stability in Kosovo and the entire Western Balkans.

Meanwhile, Haradinaj received the American admiral in Deçan, at an event hosted by the mayor of the municipality, Bashkim Ramosaj. He stressed that Kosovo’s swift NATO membership would definitively seal the region’s security. Haradinaj thanked the guest for his dedication and the continuous support that the Alliance provides to the country.

“We expressed gratitude for Admiral Wikoff’s personal commitment and for the uninterrupted assistance that he and NATO forces provide in preserving security and stability in our country,” Haradinaj said. According to him, the bond with the United States and NATO remains the fundamental pillar for Kosovo. “Our freedom represents the supreme value that we won together with our allies, led by the USA and NATO countries. The alliance with them is eternal, as is our goal to join this family,” Haradinaj concluded.

Ai theksoi se antarësimi i shpejtë i Kosovës në NATO do të vuloste përfundimisht sigurinë e rajonit. Haradinaj falënderoi mysafirin për përkushtimin e tij dhe mbështetjen e vazhdueshme që Aleanca i ofron vendit.

“Shfaqëm mirënjohje për angazhimin personal të admiral Wikoff dhe për asistencën e pandërprerë që ai dhe forcat e NATO-s ofrojnë në ruajtjen e sigurisë dhe stabilitetit në vendin tonë,” u shpreh Haradinaj. Sipas tij, lidhja me Shtetet e Bashkuara dhe NATO-n mbetet shtylla themelore për Kosovën. “Liria jonë përfaqëson vlerën supreme që e fituam bashkë me aleatët, të udhëhequr nga SHBA-ja dhe vendet e NATO-s. Aleanca me ta është e përjetshme, po aq sa dhe synimi ynë për t’iu bashkuar kësaj familjeje,” përfundoi Haradinaj.
