Albanian State Police have completed two more phases of the international operation “The Wanted,” in cooperation with Interpol partners in Colombia and Italy.

Saimir Rosales Rodriguez, a Colombian national known by the nickname “The Chemist,” has been extradited from Colombia to Albania to serve a 14-year prison sentence handed down following investigations by the Special Prosecution Office (SPAK) into the cocaine laboratory in Frakull.

Meanwhile, 38-year-old Fadil Ternova, born in Bulqizë, was extradited from Italy. He was wanted for several criminal offenses, including an attempted shooting on the Bulqizë-Tirana road, as well as other offenses.

State Police/As a result of close cooperation with international partners, two more phases of the operation codenamed “The Wanted” have been completed.

A member of a criminal group accused of accompanying a container carrying narcotics from the port of Buenaventura through Greece and Montenegro, with Albania as its destination, has been extradited from Colombia.

An individual accused/convicted of four criminal offenses, including attempted murder with a firearm, has been extradited from Italy.

As a result of the coordination of information and intensive operational actions by Interpol Tirana specialists with their counterparts at Interpol Bogotá, Colombia, and Interpol Rome, Italy, two more phases of the international operation codenamed “The Wanted” were completed, during which the following individuals were extradited to Albania:

• Colombian national S. R. R., 53, who was arrested in Colombia after GJKKO ordered his detention in custody in 2022 for the criminal offenses of “Trafficking in narcotics,” committed through the specific form of cooperation within a structured criminal group, “Commission of criminal offenses by a criminal organization and structured criminal group,” and “Structured criminal group.”

During the period from July 7, 2022, to November 12, 2022, Albanian State Police and the authorities in Montenegro exchanged information regarding a container carrying a suspicious shipment of organic fertilizer transported by ship to the port of Bar. According to preliminary information obtained for the purposes of the proceedings, the shipment had departed from the port of Buenaventura, Colombia, passed through the port of Piraeus, Greece, had Montenegro as its transit destination and was intended for an Albanian national. Further investigations into the case found that S. R. R. had accompanied the shipment containing narcotics along the Colombia-Greece-Montenegro route to its final destination;

• F. T., 38, born in Bulqizë, who was arrested in Italy after the Dibër Court:

– in 2024, ordered his detention in custody for the criminal offenses of “Intentional murder,” which remained an attempt, and “Unauthorized possession and manufacture of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition.” In 2024, on the Bulqizë-Tirana road, F. T. attempted to kill A. P. with a firearm—an automatic weapon—following a verbal dispute over trivial motives;

– in 2023, ordered his detention in custody for the criminal offense of “Assault because of official duty,” committed in collaboration;

– in 2018, sentenced him to two months in prison for the criminal offense of “Disobeying the order of a public-order police officer.”
