Arben Isaraj, who previously held the post of Deputy Minister of Justice, has launched a strong counter-response to Prime Minister Edi Rama, placing at the center of his argument the importance of keeping one’s word and governing with integrity. On social media platforms, Isaraj emphasized that the foundation of any civilized coexistence is precisely mutual trust, which he describes as an immeasurable and irreplaceable moral asset.

The former senior socialist official argues that trust is not achieved through empty rhetoric, but is forged through principled behavior, honesty, and accountability. According to him, although a deception may bring short-term gains, its consequences are devastating for human connections and individual dignity. In an era where information spreads instantly, Isaraj stresses that protecting faith and trustworthiness remains a fundamental ethical imperative.

In a longer post, he further elaborates the idea that only by relying on truth, correctness, and accountability can stable relationships, reputable institutions, and an impartial social order be built. He likens trust to a pristine glass surface, which must be guarded fanatically, because even the slightest crack can leave a permanent mark, impossible to fully repair.

“Faith and trust are like glass: a lie breaks them, but never returns them as they were,” Isaraj says, adding that every developed society rests on an invisible but vital moral foundation: trust. He emphasizes that institutions, the economy, the justice system, the family, and all social interactions function only when people trust each other’s word, honesty, and character. In Albanian tradition, this trust finds its highest expression in the concept of besa, which implies not only honoring the given promise, but also the moral obligation to be sincere and reliable.

He mentions that this folk wisdom with universal relevance, echoed by thinkers such as Aristotle, Publilius Syrus, Confucius, Kant, and the Kanun of Lekë Dukagjini, encapsulates one of the most essential truths of human ethics. Isaraj concludes that trust is not gained through empty promises, but through consistent actions; it is not built overnight, but through a long journey filled with honesty and responsibility. A lie, even if it may secure a temporary advantage, leaves deep wounds and severely damages the person’s moral integrity. In a reality where communication is instantaneous, safeguarding faith and trust remains a primary ethical duty.
