In the early hours of the morning, at around 5:30 a.m., a serious incident was reported in Shkodër, where a 25-year-old man shot two citizens, a 63-year-old father and his 24-year-old son.

They were taken to hospital, but the 24-year-old could not survive his injuries.

Police said the incident occurred at around 5:30 a.m. in the “Kongresi i Përmetit” neighborhood, where, following an argument, 25-year-old A. V. shot father and son Q. L., 63, and Y. L., 24.

The perpetrator himself was also injured with a knife and was arrested by police. The 24-year-old died in hospital, while the pistol allegedly used to commit the crime was seized from the perpetrator.

Police said they are working to clarify the circumstances of the incident.

Police statement:

At around 5:30 a.m. in the “Kongresi i Përmetit” neighborhood of Shkodër, it is suspected that, following a conflict over trivial motives, A. V. shot Q. L., 63, and Y. L., 24, father and son, while the latter two allegedly injured A. V., 25, with a cutting instrument, a knife.

As a result of his injuries, Y. L., 24, died in hospital.

Police officers went to the scene, where they apprehended and escorted A. V. to the police station, as well as found and seized the firearm, a pistol, allegedly used in the incident.

The investigative team is continuing its work to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident, determine responsibility and complete its legal documentation.

Two people have been arrested and another has been charged while at liberty following gunfire directed at a 24-year-old’s vehicle in the “1 Maji” neighborhood of Kuçovë.

The incident was reported at around 3:40 p.m., when S. R., 24, notified the police that his parked car had been shot at.

Following the information provided on 23 August 2026, officers from the Kuçovë Police Commissariat, in cooperation with the Berat Prosecutor’s Office and the Special Operations Force of the Tirana Local Police Directorate, conducted investigations and searches to identify and apprehend the suspected perpetrators.

As a result of the coordinated operations, A. Ç., alias A. Gj., 32, and A. Xh., 49, both residents of Kuçovë, were located and apprehended in Tirana.

During a search of A. Xh.’s home, a firearm and several bullets were found on the terrace, which are suspected of being connected to the incident. They were seized as material evidence.

A. Ç. was arrested for the criminal offenses of “Illegal possession of weapons and ammunition,” “Threatening,” and “Destruction of property,” while A. Xh. was arrested for “Aiding the perpetrator of a crime” and “Actions that obstruct the discovery of the truth.”

Meanwhile, S. Gj., 65, a resident of Kuçovë, was charged while at liberty for the criminal offense of “Actions that obstruct the discovery of the truth.”

The procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Berat Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction for further action.

Greek police are investigating the past of the 48-year-old man of Albanian origin, as well as the relationship he had with the 45-year-old woman whom he shot dead in Nea Smyrni, Athens, before taking his own life.

The crime took place at around 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, near an apartment building on Grigoriou Kydonia Street. The victim lived in that apartment with her 16-year-old daughter.

It is suspected that the perpetrator had been waiting inside his vehicle outside the building. When the 45-year-old woman left the building, he approached her and shot her with a revolver. Immediately afterward, the 48-year-old man used the same weapon to end his own life.

Security camera footage is a key element of the investigation, as it is believed to have captured the moments before the attack and the crime itself.

An operation targeting the trafficking of firearms from Kosovo to Albania has been concluded in Maminas, where police seized 3 pistols, 34 combat rounds, a vehicle and a bladed weapon.

A teacher and five other people were killed at a school in Thailand after a student opened fire inside the educational institution and then took his own life, international media reported.

Immediately after receiving the alert, Border Police and Marine Police Unit officers were urgently mobilized and began pursuing the vessel in the maritime area.

During the pursuit, two of the people on board the yacht attempted to approach the shore by dinghy in order to evade the police, but after seeing the officers on land, they turned back toward the yacht.

In an attempt to evade the officers, the yacht turned off its lights and continued moving at sea, but after two hours of pursuit, the vessel was stopped and taken to Porto Palermo for a thorough inspection.
