In the midday of Monday, a fire broke out near the Vlora tunnel, in the locality known as Uji i Ftohtë.

Favored by high temperatures and wind, the spread of flames over the area covered with bushes and low vegetation was rapid, creating danger for the houses nearby. At some moments, the homes in the area were seriously threatened.

Police officers and firefighting teams immediately went to the scene and intervened without delay to limit the spread and protect the buildings.

Currently, the operation for the complete neutralization of the fire is still underway, as authorities try to prevent the expansion of the hotspots and any other possible consequences.

According to initial information, the flames first broke out on the apartment’s balcony and then spread toward the kitchen.

It was the building’s residents themselves who immediately notified the fire service, while firefighters went to the scene and managed to bring the blaze under control.

According to information provided by firefighters, only material damage was recorded and there were no injuries.
