Official data show that the fire swept through around 100–110 hectares of shrubland and olive groves, while the cause of the outbreak has not yet been determined.

The emergency response involved a broad deployment of forces by air and land. The operation included two helicopters and two firefighting vehicles from the Armed Forces, 15 fire engines from several municipalities and institutions, four water tankers, 70 firefighters, 35 military personnel, 40 State Police officers, five medical emergency teams, 15 municipal employees, two representatives of the Prefecture’s Civil Protection, as well as around 30 volunteer residents.

The coordinated ground and air intervention made it possible to prevent damage to homes. Although the flames reached the yards of the houses, they burned only the surrounding vegetation and did not affect the building structures.

As a safety measure, seven families living near the endangered area were temporarily evacuated. No deaths or injuries have been reported from this incident.

During the night, to prevent possible flare-ups, the area will continue to be monitored by two firefighting vehicles from MZSH Fier and two State Police patrols.

On the ground, the operation was led and closely monitored by the Prefect of Fier County, the deputy mayor of Fier Municipality, the director of the Civil Protection Center for the Southern Region, as well as in the presence of the area’s MPs.
