The GUXO Party Assembly has decided that Faton Peci will be the new chairman of the political force.

Following his election, Peci said he accepted the responsibility with humility and gratitude, emphasizing that GUXO was founded for a cause and not to secure positions.

He said the new role represents a call for greater commitment, unity and responsibility, and pledged to work toward a more organized and open party that is closer to citizens.

Peci expressed special gratitude to the outgoing co-chairwoman, Donika Gërvalla, for her contribution, dedication and work throughout GUXO’s journey.

He added that, together with Gërvalla, the party’s members and activists, he would continue building on the work done so far and confronting the challenges ahead.

The new chairman of GUXO emphasized that Kosovo needs strong institutions, economic development, improvements in education and healthcare, security, as well as a clear Euro-Atlantic orientation.

According to him, NATO, the European Union and the United States of America will remain Kosovo’s strategic partners.

Peci thanked the party’s members for their trust, stressing that from this moment on, the responsibility is even greater, while the willingness to work is stronger.

Pas zgjedhjes, Peci deklaroi se e pranon përgjegjësinë me përulësi dhe mirënjohje, duke nënvizuar se GUXO është themeluar për një kauzë dhe jo për sigurimin e posteve.

Ai tha se detyra e re përbën një thirrje për më shumë angazhim, unitet dhe përgjegjësi, ndërsa u zotua të punojë për një parti më të organizuar, të hapur dhe më pranë qytetarëve.

Peci shprehu falënderim të veçantë për bashkëkryetaren e deritanishme, Donika Gërvalla, për kontributin, përkushtimin dhe punën e saj gjatë rrugëtimit të GUXO-së.

Ai shtoi se, së bashku me Gërvallën, anëtarët dhe aktivistët e partisë, do të vijojë ndërtimin mbi punën e deritanishme dhe përballjen me sfidat e ardhshme.

Kryetari i ri i GUXO-së theksoi se Kosova ka nevojë për institucione të fuqishme, zhvillim ekonomik, përmirësim të arsimit dhe shëndetësisë, siguri si dhe një orientim të qartë euroatlantik.

Sipas tij, NATO, Bashkimi Evropian dhe Shtetet e Bashkuara të Amerikës do të mbeten partnerët strategjikë të Kosovës.

Peci falënderoi anëtarët e partisë për besimin, duke theksuar se nga ky moment përgjegjësia është edhe më e madhe, ndërsa vullneti për punë është më i fortë.

Mitrovica Mayor Faton Peci has reacted to the protest announced by several mayors, saying that it is not related to citizens’ concerns but to political interests.

According to Peci, interinstitutional issues should be addressed through dialogue rather than protests. He also stressed that hundreds of millions of euros in municipalities’ financial obligations do not belong to Albin Kurti’s government, but to previous PAN governments.

In his reaction, Peci wrote:

“Today’s protest by several mayors is not about citizens’ concerns, but about a political deal-making agenda.

I oppose a protest driven by a political agenda.

Interinstitutional communication should be resolved through dialogue. This initiative, through which several mayors have announced their participation in a protest against the government, is entirely political and does not contribute to improving services for citizens.

The hundreds of millions of euros in municipalities’ financial burden are not obligations of Albin Kurti’s government, but obligations of the PAN government.”

Kryetari i Mitrovicës, Faton Peci, ka reaguar ndaj protestës së paralajmëruar nga disa kryetarë komunash, duke vlerësuar se ajo nuk lidhet me shqetësimet e qytetarëve, por me interesa politike.

Sipas Pecit, çështjet ndërinstitucionale duhet të trajtohen përmes dialogut dhe jo përmes protestave. Ai ka theksuar gjithashtu se qindra milionë euro të detyrimeve financiare të komunave nuk i përkasin Qeverisë së Albin Kurtit, por qeverisjeve të mëparshme të PAN-it.

Në reagimin e tij, Peci ka shkruar:

“Protesta e sotme e disa kryetarëve të komunave nuk e ka hallin e qytetarit, por agjendën e pazarit.

Jam kundër protestës së nxitur me agjendë politike.

Komunikimi ndërinstitucional duhet të zgjidhet përmes dialogut. Kjo nismë, përmes së cilës disa kryetarë komunash kanë paralajmëruar pjesëmarrjen në një protestë kundër Qeverisë, është tërësisht politike dhe nuk kontribuon në përmirësimin e shërbimeve për qytetarët.

Qindra milionat euro të barrës financiare të komunave nuk janë obligime të Qeverisë së Albin Kurtit, por janë obligime të qeverisë PAN.”

Mitrovica Mayor Faton Peci has reacted to remarks by Pristina Mayor Përparim Rama regarding the protest that the mayors of the municipalities have announced against the Kurti government.

Peci stated that Rama has no right to represent either him or Mitrovica, accusing him of trying to present himself as the opposition leader.

“Not in my name or Mitrovica’s, Përparim!” Peci wrote.

He also dismissed claims that the municipalities had suffered damage amounting to hundreds of millions of euros. According to Peci, no one has been summoned for an interview or to provide explanations in connection with the matter.

“I understand your tendency to play the role of opposition leader vis-à-vis the government, but I have no understanding for your tendency to speak on behalf of all municipal mayors, let alone Mitrovica,” he said.

Peci added that the damage to the public and civic interest, as well as to interinstitutional cooperation, was being caused by the efforts of several municipalities to oppose the government.

“Those who allegedly caused €334 million in damage (if you are referring to the collective agreement) are right there at the table, but you do not know the institutional and political context in the country, and for this damage amounting to hundreds of millions of euros, no one has been invited either for an interview or to provide an explanation,” Peci wrote.

Kryetari i Mitrovicës, Faton Peci, ka reaguar ndaj qëndrimeve të kryetarit të Prishtinës, Përparim Rama, lidhur me protestën që kryetarët e komunave kanë paralajmëruar kundër Qeverisë Kurti.

Peci ka deklaruar se Rama nuk ka të drejtë të përfaqësojë as atë dhe as Mitrovicën, ndërsa e ka akuzuar atë se po përpiqet të paraqitet si udhëheqës i opozitës.

“JO në emrin tim dhe të Mitrovicës, Përparim!”, ka shkruar Peci.

Ai ka hedhur poshtë gjithashtu pretendimet për një dëm prej qindra milionë eurosh ndaj komunave. Sipas Pecit, në lidhje me këtë çështje nuk është thirrur askush për intervistim apo për të dhënë sqarime.

“E kuptoj tendencën tënde për të luajtur rolin e liderit opozitar karshi Qeverisë, por nuk kam mirëkuptim karshi tendencës të flasësh në emër të të gjithë kryetarëve të komunave, e aq më pak të Mitrovicës”, ka deklaruar ai.

Peci ka shtuar se dëmtimi i interesit publik dhe qytetar, si edhe i bashkëpunimit ndërinstitucional, vjen nga përpjekja e disa komunave për t’iu kundërvënë Qeverisë.

“Ata që i paskan shkaktuar 334 milionë euro dëm (nëse po flisni për kontratën kolektive) i ke në tavolinë, po ti s’e di kontekstin institucional dhe politik në vend, dhe për këtë dëm prej qindra milionë eurosh askush nuk është ftuar as në intervistim, as për të dhënë shpjegim”, ka shkruar Peci.

Excavations are underway in Kalludër, Zubin Potok, as part of efforts to determine the fate of people who remain listed as missing from the last war in Kosovo.

The site was visited today by Mitrovica Mayor Faton Peci and Deputy Mayor Enis Osmani. The remains of people who went missing during the war are being sought in the area.

In a statement following the visit, Peci described the issue of missing persons and war crimes as one of the deepest wounds that continues to weigh on Kosovar society.

He wrote that, even after more than two decades, Kosovo continues to have open graves, while the wounds inflicted by the war are still bleeding.

Peci criticized Serbia, saying it has not apologized for the crimes committed during the war in Kosovo. According to him, Mitrovica paid the highest price for freedom.

Speaking about northern Kosovo, the Mitrovica mayor said that cemeteries also bear witness to the traces of history and the Albanian presence in these lands.

According to Peci, nothing can conceal the truth, because blood does not disappear and the soil does not allow crime to remain buried.

He also drew attention to the suffering of the relatives of missing persons, who for nearly three decades have lived with waiting, pain, and the search for their loved ones.

Peci stressed that these families still keep alive the hope that one day they will be able to lay flowers on the graves of their relatives.

Në Kalludër të Zubin Potokut po kryhen gërmime në kuadër të përpjekjeve për të sqaruar fatin e personave që vazhdojnë të figurojnë të zhdukur nga lufta e fundit në Kosovë.

Në reagimin e tij pas vizitës, Peci e ka cilësuar çështjen e të pagjeturve dhe të krimeve të luftës si një prej plagëve më të rënda që vazhdon të rëndojë mbi shoqërinë kosovare.

Ai ka shkruar se, edhe pas më shumë se dy dekadash, Kosova vazhdon të ketë varre të hapura, ndërsa plagët e shkaktuara nga lufta ende kullojnë.

Peci ka drejtuar kritika ndaj Serbisë, duke thënë se ajo nuk ka kërkuar falje për krimet e kryera gjatë luftës në Kosovë. Sipas tij, Mitrovica ka paguar çmimin më të lartë për lirinë.
