Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha sharply criticized the government during a meeting of the DP parliamentary group, focusing on an issue he linked to businessman Ron Yeffet.

According to Berisha, Vlora Airport could be handed over to Yeffet, and in this context he also mentioned Ardi Veliu and Ergys Agasi.

Berisha claimed that this was another case of public money being misused, accusing the government of buying equipment and then selling it back to the state. He described this as a serious form of theft against taxpayers.

During his address, the DP leader also raised allegations concerning the purchase of weapons. He said that weapons acquired from war zones, which he said is prohibited by law, had been brought to Albania and presented as products of Veliu and Puca.

Berisha also spoke about departures from the government, saying that Ergys Agasi had influenced the dismissal of four ministers.

According to him, one of the ministers left after opposing Agasi’s decisions, while the health minister departed because she refused to steal. He also mentioned Içollari and the minister who replaced him, whom he said had links to cartels.

“With our money, the taxpayers’ money, equipment is bought and sold to the state. I give you the money to buy it, and then I buy it back myself. Is there any theft more shameful than this? Weapons are bought from war zones, prohibited by law, brought to Albania and presented as products of Veliu and Puca. An unimaginable disgrace.

Yeffet-Agasi, foreigners. Do you know that they will also give Vlora Airport to Yeffet? No foreign investor is left in Albania. They drive them away one by one, through methods like Yeffet’s. We are involved in three arbitration cases with Behgjet Pacolli. He did not want, nor was he willing, to sue Albania, but the minimum is 600 million. Now it turns out that Yeffet will take it with Ardi Veliu.

These people have been driven mad by their thievery. The health minister left, she left because she did not steal. This one lines them up, Içollari, I had said it in parliament and he removed him. Ergys Agasi removed him because he opposed his decisions. The other one who came has roots in the cartels. Ergys removed the fourth minister. But he did the right thing in this case, because he was Hiçollar,” Berisha declared.
