Alliance MP Burim Ramadani has criticized the process of selecting candidates for membership of the Board of the Energy Regulatory Office (ERO).

According to Ramadani, although the candidates were evaluated and ranked based on the points they accumulated, the government did not nominate those who received the highest scores.

He said that the call for applications for ERO members was opened on April 28, 2026, by the Ministry of Economic Development, while the ad hoc Recommending Commission was established on July 10.

Ramadani stressed that on August 17 and 18, the commission completed the ranking of candidates based on the points they received in the interview.

However, according to him, the government’s nominations did not include the candidates with the highest scores.

“But the best performers in terms of scores were not nominated for the ERO Board; instead, the weaker candidates were,” Ramadani declared.

He emphasized that the candidates ranked first, third, fourth, sixth and seventh were not nominated, while the government’s list included candidates ranked second, fifth, eighth and ninth.

The MP described this course of action as a violation of the principle of meritocracy and questioned the significance of the call for applications.

“This means that the call for applications has no value under this administration. Meritocracy has been brutally violated!” he wrote.
