Ermal Sadiku, the newly elected MP of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), left the University Clinical Center today without undergoing testing for narcotic substances.

The young politician, who accepted the open invitation of Alliance candidate Burim Ramadani, reported that the test at the Toxicology Laboratory could not be conducted on Friday because the equipment was not functional.

In a statement to KosovaPress, Sadiku confirmed that he will appear again on Monday to complete the toxicology check, reiterating that he is not withdrawing from this commitment.

Sadiku: The equipment had defects, I will return next week

“This is my second visit. The aim is to do this voluntarily, to prove to the people that we, their representatives who have taken on the leadership of the country, must take care of our health and especially stay away from narcotics and alcohol abuse. Therefore, I wanted to get tested, but today it was not carried out,” Sadiku told KosovaPress.

However, the legislator said he was surprised by the justification he received from the laboratory personnel.

The “strange” reason behind the postponement of the test

“They told me they have some technical problems with the equipment. I will return on Monday or Tuesday, depending on when they are repaired. I got the referral, now I need to go and actually take the test. They explained to me here that the equipment was moved from one environment to another and needs time to rest or something like that. The reason seems a bit odd to me, but it doesn’t matter much. I don’t want to sound cynical, I believe that was the situation, and I will appear next week to complete the testing,” he added.

In a preliminary step, Sadiku was provided with a referral at the Psychiatry Clinic, just like Time Kadrijaj two days earlier, and this without following any standard procedure. The situation was completely different for MP Bekë Berisha, who was told on Monday that he had to undergo testing precisely at this clinic.

Nevertheless, Faton Kutllovci, the director of this institution, who is currently on vacation abroad, explained to KosovaPress that the hospital provides testing services exclusively for patients admitted to the addiction ward who are interested in discontinuing the use of illegal substances. Samples from these cases are sent by clinical staff to the Toxicology Laboratory for analysis.

“In our addiction diseases ward, such tests are performed only on hospitalized individuals who express a desire to quit substances. We send their samples to the Toxicology Laboratory,” Kutllovci stated.

According to him, specialists may issue a referral for testing to citizens who are not hospitalized, if they deem it a necessary step.

However, being away from Kosovo, Kutllovci was not aware of the specific procedures being followed for the MPs and how they are obtaining those referrals. KosovaPress has not been able to obtain an official explanation from UCCK regarding this matter.

In a statement posted on social media, the lawmaker stressed his unconditional support for the government’s decision to clear state properties and those built without criteria in Ujman, emphasizing that protecting the country’s water resources is a vital issue for national security.

“I am fully behind the government’s initiative to remove unauthorized structures and those that have usurped public land in Ujman. Especially when we talk about protecting Kosovo’s water reserves, which are a treasure of strategic importance for our state,” Sadiku wrote in his post.

He also offered full support to the Municipality of Pristina in parallel operations to free up municipal spaces. His message concluded with an appeal for uniform enforcement of the law: “Rule of order and state, for every citizen and every community, without any exception.”

Politikani i ri, i cili ka pranuar ftesën e hapur të kandidatit të Aleancës, Burim Ramandani, informoi se testi në Laboratorin e Toksikologjisë nuk ishte i mundur të kryhej ditën e premte për shkak se pajisjet nuk ishin funksionale.

Në një deklaratë për KosovaPress, Sadiku konfirmoi se do të paraqitet sërish të hënën për të përfunduar kontrollin toksikologjik, duke ritheksuar se nuk tërhiqet nga ky angazhim.

“Kjo është vizita ime e dytë. Qëllimi është që këtë ta bëj me dëshirë, që t’i dëshmoj popullit se ne, përfaqësuesit e tyre, që kemi marrë përsipër drejtimin e vendit, duhet të ruajmë shëndetin dhe sidomos të qëndrojmë larg narkotikëve e abuzimit me alkoolin. Prandaj desha të testohem, por sot nuk u realizua”, i tha Sadiku KosovaPress.

Megjithatë, legjislatori u shpreh i befasuar nga justifikimi që mori nga personeli i laboratorit.

Arsyeja “e habitshme” pas shtyrjes së analizës

“Më thanë se kanë disa probleme teknike me aparaturat. Do të kthehem të hënën ose të martën, në varësi se kur riparohen. Mora udhëzimin, tani më duhet të shkoj të bëj edhe vetë testin. Këtu më sqaruan se pajisjet janë zhvendosur nga një ambient në tjetrin dhe u duhet kohë të pushojnë apo diçka e tillë. Arsyeja më duket pak e çuditshme, por s’ka shumë rëndësi. Nuk dua të dukem cinik, besoj se kështu ka qenë situata dhe do të paraqitem javën që vjen për ta kryer testimin”, shtoi ai.

Në një hap paraprak, Sadiku u pajis me udhëzimin pranë Klinikës së Psikiatrisë, njësoj si Time Kadrijaj para dy ditësh, dhe kjo pa ndjekur ndonjë procedurë standarde. Krejt ndryshe ndodhi me deputetin Bekë Berisha, të cilit të hënën iu komunikua se duhet të kryente testimin pikërisht në këtë klinikë.

Sidoqoftë, Faton Kutllovci, drejtori i këtij institucioni, i cili këto ditë gjendet me pushime jashtë vendit, shpjegoi për KosovaPress se ai spital ofron shërbime testimi ekskluzivisht për pacientët e shtruar në repartin e varësive, të cilët janë të interesuar të ndërpresin përdorimin e substancave të ndaluara. Mostrat e këtyre rasteve dërgohen nga stafi klinik në Laboratorin e Toksikologjisë për analizë.

“Në repartin tonë të sëmundjeve të varësisë, testime të tilla u bëhen vetëm personave të hospitalizuar që shprehin dëshirën për të lënë substancat. Mostrat e tyre ne i nisim në Laboratorin e Toksikologjisë”, deklaroi Kutllovci.

Sipas tij, specialistët mund të lëshojnë një fletë-udhëzim për testim edhe për qytetarët që nuk janë të shtruar, në rast se ata e çmojnë si hap të domosdoshëm.

Megjithatë, duke qenë larg Kosovës, Kutllovci nuk ishte në dijeni të procedurave konkrete që po ndiqen për deputetët dhe se si ata po i sigurojnë ato udhëzime. KosovaPress nuk ka arritur të marrë një sqarim zyrtar nga QKUK në lidhje me këtë çështje.

The LDK MP did not fail to mention the action taken by local authorities. He offered unreserved support also for the Municipality of Pristina in its initiative to remove illegal structures from the land under its administration. Sadiku concluded his message with a call for the rule of law, stressing the need for an equal state for all citizens, regardless of ethnicity.

Në një reagim publik në mediat sociale, Sadiku vlerësoi angazhimin e ekzekutivit për eliminimin e objekteve të ngritura pa kriter dhe atyre mbi pronat shtetërore pranë liqenit të Ujmanit. Sipas tij, ruajtja e burimeve ujore të vendit përbën një interes kombëtar dhe thelbësor.
