The Serbian List’s allegations that police officers used violence against a Serbian citizen in the north of the country have been denied by Kosovo Police Lieutenant Erduan Baliqi. He said that the Police Inspectorate of Kosovo is already investigating the claims.

A Serbian citizen from northern Kosovo, identified in some reports as Nenad Raskoviq, has stated that he was assaulted and physically mistreated by members of the Kosovo Police. His claims have been circulated by media outlets in Belgrade and on the social media accounts of Serbian political figures, while the Serbian List has responded by accusing the police of using violence against him.

In a statement to KosovaPress, Baliqi said that the Kosovo Police had no information supporting the claims made by the person in question or by the Serbian List.

According to him, the police have no information indicating that force was used against anyone. However, at around 21:00 last night, the authorities received information that a person had sought medical treatment at Mitrovica Regional Hospital. The relevant police units went to the scene, and after the person’s claim that he had been beaten by the police was published in the media, the Police Inspectorate was immediately notified. PIK officials went to the scene and are handling the case, while the institution will investigate the claims made by the party, Baliqi stated.

The lieutenant also confirmed that the police had carried out operations in the northern part of the country during the evening. He explained that the Kosovo Police continually receive information about the possible presence of weapons at various locations.

Baliqi stressed to KosovaPress that the police had operated in the area, but had no information that police officers had used force against anyone. According to him, information about possible weapons cannot be disregarded, and the police are obliged to verify it.

In recent days, the Kosovo Police have conducted operations in the Zubin Potok region. Based on published information, weapons were discovered and seized at various locations during these operations.

Serbian media have reported that Raskoviq claims the police wrongfully demanded that he hand over a weapon. The police searches, meanwhile, were conducted on the basis of information about weapons that may have been hidden.

It has also been claimed that there was information about weapons possession in Raskoviq’s case and that there were suspicions of undeclared weapons dating back to the wartime period. Several other claims, which have yet to be officially confirmed, also link the matter to suspicions about weapons that may be connected to war crimes committed in the region.

These developments come at a time when excavations have been carried out in the Kalludra area of Zubin Potok as part of the search for the remains of people killed during the 1998–1999 war. It is suspected that a mass grave may be located in the area.

The Kosovo Police operations in the Zubin Potok region in recent days have included searches and actions based on information about possible weapons hidden in various areas.

In several public statements, the claims concerning Raskoviq’s case have also been linked to recent security developments in the north, as well as to the operations the police are conducting in this part of the country.

So far, there has been no official conclusion confirming or disproving the claim that members of the Kosovo Police used violence against the citizen.

The Police Inspectorate’s investigation is expected to determine the circumstances of the incident and clarify whether force was used against the person in question during the police operation.

Akuzat e Listës Serbe se zyrtarë policorë kanë ushtruar dhunë ndaj një qytetari serb në veri të vendit janë mohuar nga togeri i Policisë së Kosovës, Erduan Baliqi. Ai bëri të ditur se Inspektorati Policor i Kosovës tashmë po i heton këto pretendime.

Një qytetar serb nga veriu i Kosovës, i identifikuar në disa raportime si Nenad Raskoviq, ka deklaruar se është sulmuar dhe keqtrajtuar fizikisht nga pjesëtarë të Policisë së Kosovës. Pohimet e tij janë shpërndarë nga mediat në Beograd dhe në rrjetet sociale të eksponentëve politikë serbë, ndërsa Lista Serbe ka reaguar duke akuzuar policinë për përdorim të dhunës ndaj tij.

Në një deklaratë për KosovaPress, Baliqi tha se Policia e Kosovës nuk disponon informacione që i mbështesin pretendimet e personit në fjalë apo ato të Listës Serbe.

Sipas tij, policia nuk ka të dhëna se ndaj ndonjë personi është përdorur forcë. Megjithatë, rreth orës 21:00 të mbrëmjes së kaluar, autoritetet kanë marrë informacion se një person kishte kërkuar trajtim mjekësor në Spitalin Rajonal të Mitrovicës. Njësitë përkatëse policore kanë dalë në vendin e ngjarjes dhe, pasi në media u publikua pretendimi i personit se ishte rrahur nga policia, është njoftuar menjëherë Inspektorati Policor. Zyrtarët e IPK-së kanë dalë në vend dhe po trajtojnë rastin, ndërsa ky institucion do të zhvillojë hetime lidhur me pohimet e palës, deklaroi Baliqi.

Togeri konfirmoi gjithashtu se policia kishte ndërmarrë veprime në pjesën veriore të vendit gjatë mbrëmjes. Ai shpjegoi se Policia e Kosovës merr vazhdimisht informacione për mundësinë e gjetjes së armëve në lokacione të ndryshme.

Baliqi theksoi për KosovaPress se policia ka operuar në atë zonë, por nuk ka asnjë informacion që zyrtarët policorë të kenë ushtruar forcë ndaj ndonjë personi. Sipas tij, të dhënat për armatim të mundshëm nuk mund të shpërfillen dhe policia ka detyrimin t’i verifikojë ato.

Gjatë ditëve të fundit, Policia e Kosovës ka kryer aksione në rajonin e Zubin Potokut. Bazuar në informacionet e publikuara, gjatë këtyre operacioneve janë zbuluar dhe sekuestruar armë në lokacione të ndryshme.

Mediat serbe kanë raportuar se Raskoviqi pretendon se policia i ka kërkuar pa të drejtë një armë. Kontrollet policore, ndërkaq, janë zhvilluar mbi bazën e informacioneve për armë që mund të ishin fshehur.

Është pohuar gjithashtu se të dhëna për posedim armësh kishte edhe në rastin e Raskoviqit dhe se ekzistonin dyshime për armë të padeklaruara që nga periudha e luftës. Disa pretendime të tjera, ende të pakonfirmuara zyrtarisht, e ndërlidhin çështjen edhe me dyshimet për armë që mund të kenë lidhje me krimet e luftës të kryera në rajon.

Këto zhvillime ndodhin në një periudhë kur në zonën e Kalludrës, në Zubin Potok, janë kryer gërmime në kuadër të kërkimeve për mbetjet mortore të personave të vrarë gjatë luftës së viteve 1998–1999. Në atë zonë dyshohet se mund të ketë një varrezë masive.

Operacionet e Policisë së Kosovës në rajonin e Zubin Potokut gjatë ditëve të fundit kanë përfshirë kontrolle dhe veprime të mbështetura në informacione për armë të mundshme të fshehura në zona të ndryshme.

Në disa deklarime publike, pretendimet për rastin e Raskoviqit janë ndërlidhur edhe me zhvillimet e fundit të sigurisë në veri, si dhe me operacionet që policia po zhvillon në këtë pjesë të vendit.

Deri tani nuk ekziston asnjë përfundim zyrtar që ta vërtetojë ose ta hedhë poshtë pretendimin se pjesëtarë të Policisë së Kosovës kanë përdorur dhunë ndaj qytetarit.

Hetimi i Inspektoratit Policor pritet të përcaktojë rrethanat e ngjarjes dhe të sqarojë nëse gjatë operacionit policor është ushtruar forcë ndaj personit në fjalë.
