The “Freedom has a name” platform expressed its gratitude to the citizens of Kosovo for their broad participation in the “March for Freedom”, held on September 12 in support of former Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) leaders Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi, who are facing trial in The Hague.

Speaking at a press conference in Pristina, the platform’s representative, Eliza Hoxha, said the march had been organized in a dignified and magnificent manner.

“The message was clear, both in the photographs and in its content: The people of Kosovo declared the liberators completely innocent,” Hoxha said.

She thanked the security institutions for their cooperation, while also expressing her gratitude to the companies and all those who contributed to the organization of the march.

Hoxha also praised the municipalities for organizing the “Hours of Waiting”, as well as the citizens and organizations that voluntarily included these activities in the program ahead of the march.

She extended special thanks to organizations emerging from the war and to KLA veterans, who held joint activities in the seven Operational Zones under the motto “Fires of Freedom”.

The “Freedom has a name” platform said that religious communities, cultural and sports groups, non-majority communities, political parties and businesses had also provided continued support for the march and the platform’s activities.

Today, the platform took part in the “The war for the KLA” conference. During the event, academics, university representatives and civil society representatives discussed collective memory, historiography, the way the war is narrated and the reinterpretations emerging from the legal proceedings.

Starting on September 15, the “Freedom has a name” activities will take place in The Hague, where the platform, together with the Albanian diaspora, will organize the “Night of Waiting”.

Meanwhile, on September 16, when the final verdict is expected to be announced in the case against the former KLA leaders, the platform hopes that this date will become a day of celebration for Kosovo.

Eliza Hoxha concluded the conference by thanking the media for their cooperation and contribution throughout the “Freedom has a name” platform’s six-year journey.

“Thank you for accompanying us and supporting us over the past six years,” Hoxha concluded.

Platforma “Liria ka emër” u ka shprehur mirënjohje qytetarëve të Kosovës për pjesëmarrjen e gjerë në “Marshin për Liri”, i cili u zhvillua më 12 shtator në përkrahje të ish-krerëve të Ushtrisë Çlirimtare të Kosovës (UÇK), Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi dhe Rexhep Selimi, që po përballen me gjykim në Hagë.

Duke folur në një konferencë për media në Prishtinë, përfaqësuesja e platformës, Eliza Hoxha, tha se marshi ishte organizuar në mënyrë dinjitoze dhe madhështore.

“Mesazhi ishte i qartë, si në fotografi ashtu edhe në përmbajtje: Populli i Kosovës i shpalli çlirimtarët plotësisht të pafajshëm”, deklaroi Hoxha.

Ajo falënderoi institucionet e sigurisë për bashkëpunimin, ndërsa mirënjohje shprehu edhe për kompanitë dhe të gjithë personat që kontribuuan në realizimin e marshit.

Hoxha vlerësoi gjithashtu komunat për organizimin e “Orëve të Pritjes”, si dhe qytetarët e organizatat që, në mënyrë vullnetare, i vendosën këto aktivitete në kuadër të programit para marshit.

Një falënderim të veçantë ajo ua adresoi organizatave të dala nga lufta dhe veteranëve të UÇK-së, të cilët zhvilluan aktivitete të përbashkëta në shtatë Zonat Operative nën moton “Zjarret e Lirisë”.

Mbështetjen e vazhdueshme për marshin dhe aktivitetet e platformës e kanë dhënë edhe bashkësitë fetare, grupet kulturore e sportive, komunitetet joshumicë, partitë politike dhe bizneset, bëri të ditur platforma “Liria ka emër”.

Gjatë ditës së sotme, platforma mori pjesë në konferencën “Lufta për UÇK-në”. Në këtë veprimtari, akademikë, përfaqësues të universiteteve dhe të shoqërisë civile diskutuan për kujtesën kolektive, historiografinë, mënyrën e rrëfimit të luftës dhe riinterpretimet që po dalin nga proceset juridike.

Prej 15 shtatorit, aktivitetet e “Liria ka emër” do të zhvillohen në Hagë, ku platforma, së bashku me diasporën shqiptare, do të organizojë “Natën e Pritjes”.

Ndërkaq, më 16 shtator, kur pritet të shpallet vendimi përfundimtar në çështjen ndaj ish-krerëve të UÇK-së, platforma shpreson që kjo datë të shndërrohet në një ditë feste për Kosovën.

Eliza Hoxha e mbylli konferencën duke falënderuar mediat për bashkëpunimin dhe kontributin e dhënë gjatë rrugëtimit gjashtëvjeçar të platformës “Liria ka emër”.

According to Hoxha, in addition to attacking and undermining various KLA figures, society and institutions have not done enough to preserve, document and pass on its history.

She described the current situation as a critical and historic period for Kosovo, but at the same time as a sensitive moment for the state and society.

Eliza Hoxha said that the title of the conference, “The struggle for the KLA,” carries an irony, as the process in The Hague appears to have prompted Kosovars to reflect on how they treated the war after liberation.

She raised questions about what has been done to document the war, include it in the ongoing education of children and younger generations, and portray it in museums and publications that would address the battles, fallen fighters and those who remain active in public life.

Hoxha also criticized public judgments against various figures, saying that, beyond denigrating and tarnishing certain individuals because of their personal positions toward specific actors, nothing else dignified has been done to address this history.

She stressed that this is an important and sensitive moment both for the former members who, she said, have been unjustly held in The Hague for six years now, and for Kosovo as a society and state.

Professor Enver Hasani expressed his conviction that Kosovo will overcome this process as well and emerge “with its honor intact” from what he called “the latest storm.”

Hasani said that Kosovo, as a young and fragile state, has faced numerous difficulties both before and after declaring independence.

During his speech, Hysaj also recalled the 1990s, when he had written about the existence of the KLA and the reactions he received for taking that position.

Enver Hoxhaj, a deputy from the Democratic Party of Kosovo, said that after declaring independence, Kosovo faced another political and legal battle linked to the proceedings before the Specialist Chambers.

Hoxhaj expressed optimism that the former KLA leaders being tried in The Hague would be released and return to Kosovo.

According to him, the KLA’s war was unique also because it had NATO’s support and “certification.”

Eliza Hoxha tha se titulli i konferencës, “Lufta për UÇK-në”, mbart një ironi, pasi procesi i zhvilluar në Hagë duket se i ka shtyrë kosovarët të reflektojnë mbi mënyrën se si e kanë trajtuar luftën pas çlirimit.

Ajo ngriti pyetje për atë që është bërë për dokumentimin e luftës, përfshirjen e saj në edukimin e vazhdueshëm të fëmijëve dhe brezave të rinj, si dhe për pasqyrimin e saj në muze e në botime që do të trajtonin betejat, luftëtarët e rënë dhe ata që vazhdojnë të jenë aktivë në jetën publike.

Hoxha kritikoi gjithashtu gjykimet publike ndaj figurave të ndryshme, duke thënë se, përtej denigrimit dhe njollosjes së disa personazheve për shkak të qëndrimeve personale ndaj aktorëve të caktuar, nuk është bërë diçka tjetër dinjitoze për trajtimin e kësaj historie.

Ajo theksoi se ky moment është i rëndësishëm dhe i ndjeshëm si për ish-pjesëtarët që, sipas saj, po mbahen padrejtësisht prej tash e gjashtë vjetësh në Hagë, ashtu edhe për Kosovën si shoqëri dhe shtet.

Profesori Enver Hasani shprehu bindjen se Kosova do ta përballojë edhe këtë proces dhe do të dalë “faqebardhë” nga ajo që e quajti “stuhia e fundit”.

Hasani tha se Kosova, si shtet i ri dhe fragjil, është përballur me vështirësi të shumta si para, ashtu edhe pas shpalljes së pavarësisë.

Hasani: Kosova do ta përballojë edhe këtë stuhi dhe do të dalë faqebardhë

Ai u shpreh optimist se Kosova do të dalë faqebardhë si në aspektin politik, ashtu edhe në atë juridik. Sipas Hasanit, që nga periudha pasluftës, para pavarësisë dhe pas shpalljes së saj, vendi është përballur me procese të njëpasnjëshme dhe probleme të llojeve të ndryshme, të vështira për t’u përballuar nga një popull dhe shtet kaq i vogël e fragjil.

Megjithatë, ai beson se Kosova do ta kalojë edhe këtë stuhi të fundit dhe do të dalë faqebardhë.

Diplomati Ylber Hysaj e përshkroi projektin “Liria ka emër” si një përpjekje për t’iu kundërvënë harresës.

Gjatë fjalës së tij, Hysaj kujtoi edhe vitet nëntëdhjetë, kur kishte shkruar për ekzistencën e UÇK-së dhe reagimet që kishte marrë për këtë qëndrim.

Hysaj: “Liria ka emër” përfaqëson luftën kundër mallkimit të harresës

Hysaj tregoi se, kur në vitet e 90-ta kishte shkruar se UÇK-ja ekzistonte, një person i rëndësishëm nga bota e gazetarisë i kishte thënë, gjysmë me shaka dhe gjysmë seriozisht: “Ti ose je spiun ose budallë”. Ai vlerësoi se, parë nga perspektiva e sotme, kjo shprehje duket cinike dhe e rëndë, por në atë kohë kishte qenë një reagim njerëzor.

Deputeti i Partisë Demokratike të Kosovës, Enver Hoxhaj, tha se pas shpalljes së pavarësisë Kosova është përballur me një tjetër betejë politike dhe juridike, të lidhur me proceset në Dhomat e Specializuara.

Hoxhaj shprehu optimizëm se ish-krerët e UÇK-së që po gjykohen në Hagë do të lirohen dhe do të kthehen në Kosovë.

Sipas tij, lufta e UÇK-së ishte e veçantë edhe sepse kishte mbështetjen dhe “certifikimin” e NATO-s.

Members of Parliament from the Democratic Party of Kosovo gathered outside the Government building, where they called on Albin Kurti to convene the Assembly’s constitutive session and pave the way for the formation of new institutions.

Eliza Hoxha, a PDK MP, said that she and her colleagues had gathered outside the Government building to protest Kurti’s presence in the institution, which she claimed he was holding hostage.

According to Hoxha, Kurti and his ministers have usurped positions and institutions, while unblocking the Assembly and restoring constitutional functioning are essential.

“Kurti must understand that instead of sabotaging the Assembly, he should go there and create the conditions for it to be constituted. That is the primary task he must carry out as the winner of the latest elections: propose a nominee and allow us to move forward with establishing the institutions,” Hoxha said.

The Democratic Party of Kosovo reiterated its call for the leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement to convene the constitutive session as soon as possible so that the process of forming new institutions can proceed.

Hoxha called on Kurti and Vetëvendosje Movement MPs to return to the Assembly to launch the 11th legislature and restore constitutional order.

“There is one thing that citizens and all those who do not live in Kosovo but contribute to Kosovo must know: Albin Kurti cannot be above the state of Kosovo, his party cannot be above the state of Kosovo or the Constitution of Kosovo,” she stressed.

“Kurti duhet ta kuptojë që, në vend se ta sabotojë Kuvendin, ai duhet të vijë aty dhe të krijojë mundësi për ta konstituuar Kuvendin. Ajo është puna e tij parësore që duhet ta bëjë si fitues i zgjedhjeve të fundit: ta propozojë emrin dhe të ecim përpara në themelimin e institucioneve”, deklaroi Hoxha.

Partia Demokratike e Kosovës e përsëriti kërkesën që kryetari i Lëvizjes Vetëvendosje ta thërrasë sa më shpejt seancën konstituive, në mënyrë që të vijojë procedura për krijimin e institucioneve të reja.
