Dozens of firefighters have been deployed to bring a large fire under control in the village of Gurshpatë, in the municipality of Librazhd.

Reports from the scene indicate that operations are being hampered by the steep mountainous terrain. Meanwhile, high temperatures and strong winds are fueling the rapid spread of the flames.

Emergency crews are working to contain the blaze, while authorities are closely monitoring developments to prevent the fire from advancing toward residential areas.

For several days, the National Civil Protection Agency had listed Elbasan County among the areas at high risk of wildfires due to the heatwave that swept across the country over the weekend.

No injuries have been reported at this stage. Authorities are urging residents to exercise caution and refrain from any actions that could start additional fires.
