Egzon Reshani was arrested by Kosovo Police while attempting to flee to Serbia.

The incident occurred on August 3, shortly after 10:00 p.m., in the area of the village of Lower Karaqevë. While patrolling and monitoring the border, Border Police officers identified a suspicious vehicle traveling from the village of Breznicë toward the territory of the Republic of Kosovo.

Police stopped the vehicle in the village of Novosellë. During the search, passenger Egzon Reshani got out of the vehicle and attempted to evade the officers by running toward the border with Serbia.

Police officers apprehended the suspect near the border, preventing him from leaving Kosovo’s territory.

According to Kosovo Police, there was an active arrest warrant for Reshani, as he was wanted by the judicial authorities for several serious criminal offenses: “Attempted Murder,” “Usury,” “Unlawful Deprivation of Liberty,” and “Coercion.”

During a physical search, officers found and seized a knife from him. After consulting the competent prosecutor, proceedings were initiated in connection with the criminal offense of “Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon.”

After the Border Police completed their actions, the suspect was handed over to the relevant units of the Regional Police Directorate in Prizren, which will continue the proceedings related to the arrest warrant and the cases for which he was wanted.

Egzon Reshani është arrestuar nga Policia e Kosovës në një përpjekje për t’u larguar drejt Serbisë.

Ngjarja u regjistrua më 3 gusht, pak pas orës 22:00, në zonën e fshatit Karaqevë e Poshtme. Gjatë patrullimit dhe vëzhgimit të vijës kufitare, zyrtarët e Policisë Kufitare identifikuan një automjet të dyshimtë që po lëvizte nga fshati Breznicë në drejtim të territorit të Republikës së Kosovës.

Automjeti u ndalua nga policia në fshatin Novosellë. Gjatë kontrollit, pasagjeri Egzon Reshani doli nga automjeti dhe tentoi t’u shmangej zyrtarëve duke vrapuar drejt vijës kufitare, në drejtim të Serbisë.

Forcat policore e ndaluan të dyshuarin pranë kufirit, duke e penguar kalimin e tij jashtë territorit të Kosovës.

Sipas Policisë së Kosovës, ndaj Reshanit ishte aktiv një urdhërarrest, pasi ai kërkohej nga organet e drejtësisë për disa vepra të rënda penale: “Vrasje në tentativë”, “Fajde”, “Privim i kundërligjshëm i lirisë” dhe “Detyrim”.

Gjatë kontrollit fizik, zyrtarët i gjetën dhe i sekuestruan një thikë. Pas konsultimit me prokurorin kompetent, për rastin u nis procedurë për veprën penale “Armëmbajtje pa leje”.

Pas përmbylljes së veprimeve nga Policia Kufitare, i dyshuari iu dorëzua njësive përkatëse të Drejtorisë Rajonale të Policisë në Prizren, të cilat do të vijojnë procedurat lidhur me urdhërarrestin dhe rastet për të cilat ai kërkohej.
