According to her, the Government is continuing to invest heavily in improving educational infrastructure, with the aim of ensuring that every student, regardless of where they live, has equal opportunities for quality education.

In this neighborhood, work is under way to adapt a facility that by the end of the year will be put into operation as a new branch school of Kole Kaninski Primary School. The investment is worth 31 million denars and is being carried out by the local self-government with Government support. The works were inspected today by Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, Minister of Education and Science Vesna Janevska, and the Mayor of Bitola, Toni Konjanovski.

“Congratulations on this important investment by the Municipality of Bitola, carried out with Government support. It is important to build where there is a real need, to improve educational infrastructure, and to create conditions for quality education everywhere. With the adaptation of this facility, which will have five classrooms, a library, and sanitary facilities, including for students with special educational needs, children from the Bukovski Livadi neighborhood will be able to complete their primary education in their own place of residence, instead of traveling every day to other areas. In this way, we save them time and enable them to devote themselves more to their studies and achieve even better results,” Janevska said.

She underlined that this project represents only one segment of the important investments being carried out in Bitola with the support of central institutions.

“The municipality is not alone in its efforts for better education. Funds have been secured for around 15 infrastructure investments. The Ministry has already completed the reconstruction of the sports hall at Elpida Karamandi Primary School, one of three new school sports halls is under construction, the construction of seven school sports fields is being finalized, four schools will be reconstructed, while the reconstruction of the Koço Racin student dormitory will begin next year. This is an investment cycle worth more than 450 million denars, that is, more than 7 million euros, which will significantly improve conditions for education and sports in Bitola,” Janevska stressed.

According to data from the Ministry of Education and Science, 11,171 students enrolled to attend classes in the Macedonian language, 4,241 in the Albanian language, 279 in the Turkish language, and 14 in the Serbian language.

Broken down by type of education, 4,653 students enrolled in grammar school education and 10,823 in vocational education across the two rounds. A total of 229 students enrolled in the Sports Academy, while for arts education, according to the ministry’s announcement, the selection process has not yet been completed.

The second enrollment round took place on June 23, while the required documentation was submitted to schools on June 24. The Ministry of Education and Science said that 2,927 students applied in this second June round, of whom 1,457 were for classes in the Macedonian language, 1,369 for classes in the Albanian language, and 101 for classes in the Turkish language.

Earlier, the Ministry of Education and Science had announced that in the first enrollment round for secondary education, conducted through electronic applications from June 12 to June 15, 15,075 students had applied, while after the selection carried out in arts education, 13,423 were enrolled.

Of this number, 9,839 students were enrolled for classes in the Macedonian language, 3,357 in the Albanian language, 213 in the Turkish language, and 14 students in the Serbian language.

The lowest level of interest during the first two enrollment periods was recorded at the Economics School and the Textile School.

“At the Economics School, unfortunately, we have a small number of admitted students, around forty, and at the Textile Secondary School, so far only 44 students who met the 45-point criterion have been admitted. There, we will ask the Ministry to lower the points requirement so that students who did not meet the points criterion can enroll,” said Nazmi Dauti from the Education Sector in the Municipality of Tetovo.

Meanwhile, in the second period, nearly 200 applications, but very few of them met the conditions for the 70-point programs. Of them, only around 20 were admitted,” said Malësore Ramadani, Director of SH M M “Nikolla Shtejn”.

According to Ramadani, there are still available places in the pharmacy technician, dental assistant and gynecology programs, but the points criterion will remain the same and there will be no reduction.

After medicine, the highest level of interest in Tetovo is in the “Kiril Pejçinoviq” gymnasium, although some programs still have available places for enrollment in the remaining admission periods./Alsat/
