The Appeals Court of the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime has decided not to comply with the new GJKKO regulation concerning journalists.

It was Appeals Court Judge Saida Dollani herself who, during a meeting with journalists, promised that the transparency rules would not change.

“The transparency rules here will not change. If you are prevented from staying in our lobby, let me know,” Dollani told the journalists.

The new GJKKO regulation, which imposes new restrictions on the presence and activities of the media on court premises, entered into force on September 1.

The new regulation, drafted by GJKKO head Erjon Bani, limits the ways in which journalists can follow court proceedings and report from the institution’s premises.

The new measures include a ban on journalists’ use of mobile phones and audio-recording equipment. There are also new restrictions on the presence of cameras. When there are not enough seats in the courtrooms for all journalists, they will be allowed to enter on a rotating basis.

Rregullorja e re e hartuar nga kreu i GJKKO-së Erjon Bani, kufizon mënyrën se si gazetarët mund të ndjekin proceset gjyqësore dhe të raportojnë nga ambientet e institucionit.

Ndër masat e reja parashikohet ndalimi i përdorimit të telefonave celularë dhe pajisjeve për regjistrim audio nga gazetarët. Kufizime të reja ka edhe për praninë e kamerave. Në rastet kur në sallat e gjyqit nuk ka vende të mjaftueshme për të gjithë gazetarët, hyrja e tyre do të bëhet me rotacion.
