During his address to those present, Kurti said that the martyrs are embedded in the foundations of the state and at the roots of Kosovo’s freedom.

“To conclude the final of the Traditional Football Tournament ‘Has Martyrs’ Week’ here at the Hill of Reconciliation, there is no doubt that this is more than a sports tournament in which we are taking part together. It is an act of remembrance, an expression of gratitude, and proof that the sacrifice of entire generations continues to live on in the collective consciousness of our society and our people, and we wish to promote healthy values for the younger generations and for those who will come after us,” acting Prime Minister Kurti said.

He called on young people to engage in sport as much as possible, while underlining that the Government will stand by them in sports initiatives and beyond.

“Dear organizers of ‘Martyrs’ Week in Has,’ the martyrs are in the foundations of our state. They are at the roots of our freedom. Therefore, we never forget them; we always commemorate them because their legacies and ideals guide us toward the future, while their blood is what keeps both our history and our present strong,” Kurti said.

Gjatë fjalës së tij para të pranishmëve, Kurti u shpreh se dëshmorët janë të vendosur në themelet e shtetit dhe në rrënjët e lirisë së Kosovës.

“Për ta përmbyllur finalen e Turneut Tradicional të Futbollit “Java e Dëshmorëve të Hasit” këtu në Kodrën e Pajtimit, s’ka dyshim që është më shumë se një turne sportiv ky në të cilin po marrim pjesë bashkë. Është një akt kujtese, është shprehje mirënjohje, dhe dëshmi që sakrifica e brezave të tërë vazhdon të jetojë në vetëdijen kolektive të shoqërisë e të popullit tonë, dhe ne dëshirojmë t’i promovojmë vlerat e shëndosha edhe për brezat e ri e për ata që do të vijnë pas nesh”, tha kryeministri në detyrë Kurti.

Ai u bëri thirrje të rinjve që të angazhohen sa më shumë në sport, ndërsa nënvizoi se Qeveria do t’u qëndrojë pranë në nisma sportive dhe jo vetëm.

“Të nderuar organizatorë të “Javës së Dëshmorëve në Has”, dëshmorët ndodhen në themelet e shtetit tonë. Ndodhen në rrënjët e lirisë tonë. Andaj ne ata kurrë nuk i harrojmë, gjithmonë i përkujtojmë sepse amanetet, idealet e tyre, na prijnë drejt së ardhmes, ndërkaq gjaku i tyre është ai i cili na mban të fuqishëm edhe historinë tonë, por edhe të tashmen tonë”, tha Kurti.
