The Democratic Youth of Kosovo organized a symbolic protest near the entrance to the Assembly of Kosovo today, calling for the legislature to be constituted and the institutions to become operational, KosovaPress reports.

As part of the protest, Democratic Youth of Kosovo representative Arbnora Salihu said that three steps had been symbolically placed at the Assembly’s doors. She explained that they represented the Constitution, the Constitutional Court’s ruling, and the Assembly’s Rules of Procedure.

“By placing these three main steps, we sought to highlight three issues: what the Constitution stipulates, what the Constitutional Court said in 2025, and what the Assembly’s Rules of Procedure provide for,” Salihu stated.

She said there was no need to draft new rules, as the deadlines for completing the process of constituting the Assembly were, according to her, clearly defined.

“You have the numbers; call the session and constitute the Assembly,” the Democratic Youth of Kosovo representative said.

Salihu also criticized the Vetëvendosje Movement and Albin Kurti, accusing them of violating the Constitution and obstructing the functioning of the institutions.

“No party, MP, or majority can stand above the Constitution. Young people in Kosovo cannot accept such violations, which first become established practice and are then presented as something normal,” she stated.

The Democratic Youth of Kosovo emphasizes that the Constitution sets a 30-day deadline for constituting the Assembly, beginning on the day the election results are officially announced. Meanwhile, under the Assembly’s Rules of Procedure, an adjournment of the constitutive session may not last longer than 48 hours.
