Today, the anti-government protest reaches a historic milestone, marking the 60th day of continuous mobilization in the capital—exactly two months of civic resistance.

What began as a focused reaction to events in Zvërnec has turned into a daily nationwide movement that has gone beyond its initial local cause to become a direct challenge to the government and the political elite.

For 60 consecutive evenings, citizens have gathered in Tirana, organizing rallies in front of the government headquarters and Parliament, marching along the capital’s main arteries and repeatedly voicing the same core demands: the departure of Prime Minister Edi Rama, guarantees of fair electoral processes and a reconceptualization of the model of governance.

During this two-month period, the movement has gone through several stages. From the first rallies, it has evolved into a daily action, with participants marching through the streets of Tirana almost every evening, while tense moments with law enforcement have not been absent, particularly during their presence near Parliament.

Organizers stress that the protest now embodies more than a single concern; it represents the people’s deep disappointment with those in power and what they call the political caste. According to them, maintaining a constant presence in the streets is the only instrument for keeping pressure on the institutions and imposing fundamental political change.

On this 60th day as well, protesters will once again gather in Tirana for the next rally in front of the Prime Minister’s Office, before beginning their usual march through the capital’s streets. The chants “Rama, go!”, “Resignation!”, “Albania will not surrender!”, “New Albania!” and “Revolution!” are expected to echo again this evening—slogans that have become the emblem of this protest.

Organizers have announced that mobilization will continue without interruption in the coming days, emphasizing that the protest will not fade before its stated objectives are achieved. For them, these 60 days do not mark an end but represent the continuation of a movement aimed at keeping constant pressure on the government and the political class.
