As the highest decision-making body of the World Customs Organization, the Council brings together the heads of customs administrations of member countries to address strategic priorities and the most important developments in the customs sector on a global scale.

The Kosovo Customs announcement states that during these proceedings, the report of the Secretary General, as well as the reports of the WCO’s technical committees, were reviewed. Special attention was given to the development of institutional capacities, customs standards and policies, rules of origin, customs valuation, nomenclature, and the classification of goods.

The agenda also included topics related to law enforcement, the facilitation of international trade, and the application of technology in customs procedures.

At the same time, the Council is also reviewing the organization’s institutional policies, governance, finances, and budget, and is expected to approve the calendar of future activities and sessions of the World Customs Organization.

According to Kosovo Customs’ assessment, Llugaliu’s participation in this high-level international forum contributes to strengthening Kosovo’s role in global customs policymaking processes, alignment with international standards, and deepening cooperation with the customs administrations of partner countries.

The statement also emphasizes that Kosovo Customs remains committed to advancing reforms, modernizing customs services, facilitating lawful trade, and strengthening the security of the international supply chain, in line with the standards and best practices of the World Customs Organization.
