Over the past 24 hours, 37 wildfires in open areas have been recorded. According to the Crisis Management Center (CMC), three of them remain active, one has been brought under control, while the remaining fires have been extinguished.

One of the active hotspots is in the Municipality of Studeničani, in the area between the villages of Morane, Vërtekica, and Gaber, where mixed forest is burning. In the Municipality of Makedonski Brod, the fire has engulfed low vegetation, low forest, and shrubs at a location known as “Vidush,” as well as near the villages of Dragov Dol and Lokvica.

The third active hotspot is located in the territory of the Municipality of Prilep, near the village of Čanishte.

“The fire has two directions – one towards the village of Zoviq, and the other towards the village of Kruševica. Low vegetation has burned,” the CMC clarified. Meanwhile, the fire at the Delčevo landfill, according to the latest data as of 07:30, is under control.

Among the extinguished fires, two were recorded in the territory of Gjorče Petrov, two in the Saraj area, and two in Štip. Three fires each were extinguished in Dolnen, Kičevo, and Gostivar, while one each was extinguished in Aerodrom, Haračina, Mogila, Novaci, Radoviš, Strumica, and Čaška. Another fire affected the territory of Veles and Zelenikovo.

Firefighter interventions also occurred in Vinica, Kočani, Lipkovo, Kratovo, Staro Nagoričane, Rankovce, Brvenica, Tetovo, and Jegunovce.

Mixed forest also burned in the municipalities of Jegunovce and Saraj. Initially, the fire broke out in the territory of the villages of Kopance and Tudence, in the Municipality of Jegunovce, and then spread towards the village of Bojane, in the Municipality of Saraj.

According to data from the CMC, two of these fires remain active. One hotspot is located in the Municipality of Gazi Baba, in the village of Trubarevo, while the other is in the Municipality of Likova, in the village of Opaje.

Meanwhile, it was recalled that starting from July 1, a ban on movement through forests will come into force due to the risk of fires, a measure that will remain in effect until the end of August.

This ban does not include national parks or Vodno, while permits for movement may be issued by the Ministry of Interior and the Public Enterprise “National Forests”.
